Brina, thanks for asking. I was just pretending to understand, and hoping it would clear up in context later :-)

Still nothing on what you did on BJ? Come on - give us a hint...
We were probably watching the same episode. My daughter loves it, too!!Quote:

I didn't really get into specifics, nor did SK BUT one of the Cyclonauts asked slantz the BJ administrator to remove all references to Boyer from the thread. So SK and I were a little bent about that. I mean we didn't get into huge specifics, and it's not like we totally hijacked the thread - we really didn't. Just a couple of emails about facts dealing with Boyer. It's not like we were taking a position on child molestation or anything (DUH), but the facts are the facts.
And I'd previously had an email censored (nicely) by Slantz - I'd made some reference to one friend of mine "kicking everyone's @sses" in mileage and was told that inferred profanity was not okay. I really hadn't meant anything by it. I guess my time at the DA's office comes out every once in a while. They have a low threshold for profanity. Which is entirely their prerogative since it's their site - but we were a little miffed yesterday that if one person asked for non-offensive posts to be removed that they would do it.
Yeah, my post was horribly offensive. It essentially said that if you're acquitted (at the time I didn't know Boyer had been convicted) that one should be allowed to participate. Fer crying out loud, I thought this was America and once you had been found innocent you were allowed to resume your normal life or if not once you had paid your debt to society you were done with it. Somehow this was considered a negative in the thread. So maybe I did take a position - that the laws are the laws and they are what makes the USA a good place to live.
Nobody said anything pro or con about the facts of the case or Boyer's character.
Websites, or lists, or whatever that over-moderate are BS. I don't have time for that.
In slantz' defense, he did it in response to a Cyclonaut's request.
It sounds like they're a bit heavy handed with the sensoring. I'm very surprised they gave in on a single request to remove references. It doesn't sound like you were taking sides or trying to totally hijack the thread to me. Craziness!
It's a MADHOUSE!!!!!

(That's just one of my favorite movie lines ever, and I like to throw it in anywhere it occurs to me. I generally restrain myself. Except when it comes to that freakish monkey biking film from the 60s that beta posted...or excessive censorship on the BJ site.)

Alas, Dennis at the LBS appears to be taken. I went to their site to email John with thanks for helping me so much yesterday. I read the history of the shop...and it turns out "JoAnne and Dennis" own it. Wanna bet they're not just business partners? Alas. Is this like women in labor adoring their anesthesiologist? heheheheheh! L.
Lise - how is photographer guy? Or the other one???
We are watching ST-TNG again - Ferengi. It is so funny to hear a 4 year old try to figure out what a Ferengi is. We have finally convinced her that Warf is a good guy. She says she does not like the ones with the big wrinkles on their heads.
Made spaghetti tonight - yummmmm!
Ferengi are tough to figure out. Perhaps the most morally ambiguous characters in the ST roster. Do you remember early, early ST, when Klingons just looked sort of Middle Eastern (as I recall)? Must've had a small makeup budget for that season! I love ST. I never got into Voyager or the retro one very much. But a boxed set of TNG or DS9 would see a lot of action in my DVD player!
Photo guy--I wrote him this morning, he wrote back, sounding interested, I wrote back again...I realized I was feeling anxious about him finding out I'm in recovery, so I just took the bull by the horns and mentioned it in my last email. I haven't heard back from him yet. If that's something he doesn't want in his life, or makes him not want to get to know me further, then let's hear it now. Before I meet him and like him and kiss him, all the while thinking, "....yeah, but when you learn this about me, you'll be gone." The guy I was seeing in March stopped calling me after I told him. I don't know that's the reason, as he never told me. When I said it, fairly casually, he just said, "OK", no other response. Slept with me that night, kissed me goodbye in the morning affectionately, and ... into the wind.
The other guy sent me his number, and I emailed back that I'll call him tomorrow. I'm on-call for the hospital tonight. I just got report from the midwife ahead of me--she had 5 deliveries in her shift, so, by the numbers, I should have a quiet night. I took a 90 min nap, and didn't feel like having another "getting to know you" conversation tonight.
Moooore will be revealed. fish, how're your body and spirit feeling today?
