Someone else did this and I thought it was a great idea - it's been almost a year since I posted last and things have - ummmm - changed slightly so here is an update:

Explanation of your handle: I think the F4U-Corsair is one of the most awesome planes ever built and my father was flight engineer for the last Corsair outfit to fly in the Navy. The Mac is part of my last name.

Explanation of your avatar: They are members of the Ladies Morallly Fashionable Cycling Society from the turn of the century!

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 45.0 going down one of the many screaming descents we have here - I was passing Cars!!! :eek:

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I can't remember, which means I've either told too many, or I don't lie! (I'll let ya'll pick!)

Most memorable moment on my bike: My very first century. I wouldn't have been able to even attempt it if it hadn't been for the support I received here on TE and over at BikeJournal.com. It was going to have to be completely sef-supported and I was going to be riding alone but so many people told me I could do it and they were right! And wow!! what a feeling of accomplishment.

Most fun ever had on a bike? I have an occassional biking buddy who is an ex-racer and one day while struggling up one of the many gawd-awful hills out here he rode by me with his shorts pulled down around his knees! I was laughing so hard that hill suddenly didn't look so big or so steep. Now every time I struggle up a hill - I just think if him mooning his way along that incline and get the giggles. Nothing helps ya climbing better than giggling while you're doing it!

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: When I snuck out with friends and told my parents I did it because I saw my sister older get in a strangers car.

Most memorable moment on my bike: Riding my first 25 mile Tour de Cure on a humid day with the temperature in the nineties.

Most fun ever had on a bike? I have a good time everytime I go out.

Welcome to the board aka. So I gotta ask......did your sister get in trouble?? Silly me I have 2 sisters and a brother and it never occurred to me to use Them to get myself outta trouble! Course they probably had just as much or more on me! As for the avatar - type "avatar" in the search box and it should pull up a thread that tells ya how to do one. (coz I can't remember right now how to do it either! :eek: )

Favorite bike: Kestrel tri rig - if only they built them small enough for me. Also like to drool over the Orbea's- they're so purty.... ; )

What's in your stable? Specialized Allez Dolce/ Specialized hard rock mtn rig- low end cause I'm not really a dirt girl..

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 25+ on some huge hill at a tri in San Dimas last summer. Actually was prolly going 30+ now that I think about it!

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Hmmmm.. nothing too major. Mostly little fibs to get me out of things. Though I did pretend to be really sick once so I could go riding... hee hee hee

Most memorable moment on my bike: Hmmmm... I did a sprint tri last may that had a two mile climb up a mine road to the turn around. I was tucked in behind a guy going super slow for awhile but holding back cause I didn't want to draft. Finally I realized that I had WAY more gas in the tank than that, so I passed him. I also passed a young guy on a mtn. bike. Well he didn't take to kindly to that, but he was never able to catch up to me. He did catch me on the run though and said "hey, thanks for motivating me on the bike". My reply was "no problem" but I was thinking "must stink to get smoked by a fat chick"...

Most fun ever had on a bike? See above... I thought the bike course was gong to kill me, but it turns out I'm really pretty good on rollers.

Welcome to the board RM. I used to live in Chandler and am still working on how to get myself back there! :rolleyes: Loved the story about passing the kid on the mtn bike - just makes ya feel good all over don't it! :p

What's in your stable? Trek 2300 Road bike, Trek 7200 Hybrid & trusty (not rusty) old Shogun mountain bike.

Fastest speed on a road bike? 76km/hr down the old “Eagle-on-the-Hill” Freeway with tailwind.

Most memorable moment on my bike: Doing a tour through Kangaroo Island (off the coast). Adult mum kangaroo & joey (baby) kept with us for about 5kms…just 5 meters in front. Awesome. Not scared because not noisy (like cars).

Most fun ever had on a bike? There are sooo many good times. Even if I start off feeling blue it’s not long before Nature: Sun, wind, birds, rain, lizards, sheep, cows, horses, alpaca (kind of long haired llama), cats, dogs,rainbows, stars etc have me feeling good again.

We also have a sweet Russian Blue that we adopted 8 years ago from a shelter. She has the softest fur, the cutest face and a very interesting personality.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Coasting at high speed down into the canyon and belting out "mouth music" at the top of my voice.

And I'm not making it up about the animal rights folks. A friend of mine -- in fact, the head of my organization, Rabbitwise -- is a psychotherapist and a registered "first responder", so she has to take seminars from time to time to keep her certification current. In one of them, the class was informed that animal rights advocates should be considered potential terrorists. One of the groups identified by name was the Doris Day Animal League.

Osama bin Laden has some real competition there.

Thanks for that SJCzar. I am so happy to have discovered this site & feel right at home already. Russian Blues are so sweet. We've got 4...environmentally friendly & contained indoors or outside in a cat enclosure. All have unique personalities & they don't have a mean bone in thier bodies. Nicer than some humans I know!

Welcome aboard. Lovely to have an animal activist terrorist with Doris Day connections amoung us!. Wouldn't want to meet you or one of the bunnies in a dark alley, especially if I had a salad sandwich on me.
