PS, all you really need to know is Addy the Hognose FINALLY ate for me last night- I've been very worried- I am quite attached to her. Her natural food is toads, but that is not practical, so I had to trick her into eating a mouse. Now I can keep her!

And, Inez is a Nelson's Milksnake coming to me for my birthday from Colorado. She's on the plane now, and will be delivered by UPS tomorrow morning. I have to take the day off to be able to sign for her.

Annie, good luck to dh today - hope all goes well. And to the best of my vast judgmental knowledge about petty thangs, people from Iowa are referred to as Iowegins (I-Ah-We-Gins) here. Hope you had some wine for me - I like the reds.

Nanci, I thought of you today as I got to work. Turned the corner to head up to my office and saw a mouse! Poor thing. Looks like it had rat poison for bfast cuz it wasn't moving too well. He has been disposed of....And it was the obnoxious people from Chicago that landed the term FIBS - the rest are flatlanders. Of course, it could have something to do with the fact that 90% of the ones spotted in WI have vanity plates and drive at least 20 mph over the speed limit:p

Margo, I've been pondering the question "how old is Kit really? I'm thinking the hole has a bit of mesh in it for her but she's not working too hard on darning it....

Off to a conference call. Guess I need to work while they're paying me cuz if I get fired I'll have to wonder aimlessly from TE home to TE home, riding bike at my leisure, pestering you good people. Oh, the thought.....

The things you learn when you commute 2.5 hours to a 7-10 pm meeting:

1) One 6-inch chicken parm sandwich for dinner still leaves ya hungry. Good thing someone brought cake to the meeting. Had to eat 2 pieces before I was full. (I normally wouldn't full up on cake and don't even like sweets that much, but when you're hungry, YOU'RE HUNGRY).

2) All the cheap motels in Lanesboro, MA are closed by 10:00 pm. Grrr. [Note to owners of cheap motels: people who are awake after 10 pm really would like to sleep somewhere.] Had to drive 20 minutes to find a cheap motel with an office that was unlocked and a person who heard the "please ring bell for assistance".

3) Two Clif Bars for breakfast doesn't fill ya up, especially when you eat one of them at 3 am. Well, driving hungry does keep ya awake, though the mental stimulation gets pretty rote (stomache: "hey brain, there's a big hole down here. toss something in, will ya." brain: "hey, be patient, I've got nothing to toss in." stomache: "well find something. I can't wait all day." brain: "I'm thinking about food. does that help?" stomach: "no it doesn't. find food.") The best intentions of heading straight to the polls and the office were overridden by Mr. Stomache so we stopped at home (all 3 of us, brain, stomache, and me) to eat a yam and a chicken sausage at 8 am.

Hey, Knot. I was thinking about chicken stew. I now I find out you were working and not cooking chicken stew for me for breakfast. :mad: Maybe next time I should take a mousetrap to said cheap motel and bring a toad for flavoring.

nanci - mousages! I guess that's better than tofu....

cc - I saw Queen with Freddie, hmmm, didn't even know Paul Rodgers was with 'em now. Hmmmm. Don't think I like it.

Naturally, I've got 2 meetings today - one of my busiest days of the week. Can't seem to get that through my mgr's head. Oh well, I'll send everyone to her when people start b!tching about not getting their claims/reports/etc.

Yikes, how am I ever going to get ready to hike three days at the Grand Canyon when I have to work all week???? I just know I'm going to forget something! It's goin to be cold too! Oh, that means my backpack will weigh a ton with the all the clothes! What to take?

:mad: *rant* Someone is playing a joke on me today and stole my new polartec waterbottle from my desk. I do NOT think this is funny this morning! I am trying to drink more water and stay hydrated since I started running again and now this?? This is the thanks I get for picking up the lunch tab for them for pizza today (ok, I charged my customer but hey - they get a free lunch). I want my waterbottle back!!!

If anyone was going to eat Inez, it'd be Choco! Kingsnakes eat snakes. There was even a post on the cornsnake forum about a kingsnake that was trying to eat the middle of HERSELF!!! Doh!!

Now, now; don't jump to conclusions.
This is very tricky and exacting darning; not like your merino socks (or even your best black wool singlet, eh kiwi's?).
And there is no room for error - I mean Kitsune herself knows what can happen if the Fabric of Space/Time gets a hole in it.
Also seems like its "only" Kits that has "fallen" thru so far. (More evidence that she jumped on purpose of course)

Dar--when are you meeting IL guy? Thanks for explaining "flatlanders". I didn't know that one. I also didn't know that only Chicagoan were "FIBs". SHEESH! I neither drink beer nor shoot deer, but I do tend to drive over the speed limit. If it helps, I was ticketed about 15 years ago, driving way too fast on my way home from Madison.

Annie--good luck with Election Day. This, too, shall pass. I don't know any perjorative terms for people from Iowa. Hmmm. Just as well!

Meeting J's brother tonight at dinner. He's in town for a few days for business. Am slightly nervous. J. and I are making plans to go to ITALY in March! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Exciting. :D
