Well, I didn't run nor ride nor even go for a walk that day, so I wasn't hungry. Normally I eat massive amounts of food, but if I'm not active my appetite just shuts off.
And I slept in really late, so breakfast was practically lunch...

Thanks! Hopefully that will be the case for me. For my DH, since they found polyps both times, he's on an every 5 year schedule. :(
I'm smelling the dinner he's eating as I drink my laxative-laced G2 Gatoraid (thank heavens it really just tastes like Gatoraid), and it's about to kill me. I will never take food for granted again!
And this experience just reinforced for me that I could never be anorexic.
I love my food....
Emily - I hope all goes well!
Today:
B: none...
L: 1 cup spaghetti with marinara sauce, lettuce salad, coffee (lunch at church)
S: Cliff Bar before bike ride, and a Honey Stinger Chocolate Gel during bike ride
15 mile bike ride - was STARVING during it so was glad I had the Stinger gel..
D: Trader Joe's Garlic Chicken sausage, romaine salad with sweet peppers, onion, tomato, low-fat Champagne Vinaigrette, beer
S: probably either an apple or fresh strawberries with low-fat Greek Yogurt.
2 eggs and 2 slices ww toast
cereal
pizza, something like 5 slices from a small pie.
roasted vegetables for dinner
an orange, and a pear. I regret the pear, it was not ripe, and I was already way too full, but I ate it anyway. Bleck.
Don't remember cuz I followed it up with a strong Rum and Coke.
egg white omelette with low fat cheddar, grapefruit half, coffee
salad with chicken and goat cheese, salsa, an orange, cup of tomato soup
wedge of Spanish cheese after 3 mile walk
small skim milk mocha latte
pork with thyme/mustard sauce, brown rice, salad
hummus with a slice of low fat provolone
I spent all morning baking for Passover. There was some "tasting" involved...
1 piece wg toast, egg, ham and cheese sammy
1 small beef burrito w ancho chili sauce, 1 beer
1 chicken sausage, small piece of chili, corn custard, and lots of yummy, fresh peas, 1 glass red wine
Woohoo, all done with the colonoscopy and back to the eating! :D
(Results were fine, mild internal hemmorhoids but NO polyps; however, he did put me on the five-year return schedule based on my dad having polyps. Since none were ever cancerous and he lived to 71, I'm not sure if I'll follow the five year schedule or the ten).
So, just more juice for breakfast, but I made up for 1.5 days of no solid food with my lunch (I'm still on low fiber until tomorrow):
1 piece home-baked white toast with cheese
slice of fresh pineapple (not super low-fiber but I had to have it!)
slice of chocolate derby pie with scoop of ice cream :D
Dinner will be chicken, green beans, white rice pilaf; then back to my normal high-fiber diet tomorrow. Yay! :p
Oh, and I lost 1.5 lbs. during the ordeal, but that was obviously nearly all water.
Emily: Glad that's over with for you and the results were good!
That diet is a killer!
spoke
Glad you survived, Emily.
So, I had my last piece of bread/rice/flour until the end of Passover. I am not sure if I can make it through next weekend, though, if I go out. But, I will try. It gets to be a game. Good excuse to pile on the fruits and veggies, as well as protein. I actually like matzoh, so...
Anyway, today, so far:
2 soft boiled eggs, 2 pieces turkey bacon, an orange
nuts and cranberries
chicken sandwich with low fat provolone on whole wheat roll, honey mustard, cole slaw, blueberries
2 bottles of water + Nuun and a Luna Bar on a hilly 35 mile ride.
slice of whole wheat bread with hummus when I got home
Going to a friend's house for Seder tonight. Will have the usual matzoh ball soup, gefilte fish, as well as baked salmon, salad, potatoes. Plus the desserts I am bringing... Passover brownies and sponge cake with strawberries and orange curd. Oh yea, and the wine!
B: Wheat chex, strawberries, 1% milk, coffee
Snack: 1 Banana
L: 12 barbequed hot wings
D: 1 small plate of pasta, with tomato sauce, parmesan, 1 glass of wine
Yay, back to a full day of "normal" eating (for me!) And thanks to those who wished me well with my colonoscopy yesterday. Just glad it's over with!
B: TJ's Golden Flax cereal w/scoop of protein powder, almond milk, 1 c. coffee
Before ride snack: 4 small butter cookies with a small smear of Nutella
< One hour bike ride at lunchtime (water only) >
Lunch: Turkey cheese open-face sandwich, skinny slice of derby pie (had to finish it!), 1 c. coffee
Snack: small tangelo, small handful almonds
Later snack: blender smoothie of carrots, celery, spinach, oj
Dinner: sprouted wheat wrap with black beans, kale, corn, shredded chicken breast, tomatoes, shredded jack cheese; salad w/ homemade dressing; one beer
Dessert: small square very dark chocolate
I guess I made up for no solid food on Sunday! :D Definitely more sweets than I usually eat, so I'll be better tomorrow. Glad that "evil" (but delicious!) pie my DH made is gone now.
2 soft boiled eggs, blueberries/strawberries/coffee
tuna salad with lettuce, tomatoes, an apple
piece of matzoh with hummus
another Seder dinner... too much. matzoh ball soup, one piece gefilte fish. chicken breast with orange-bourbon gravy, quinoa with artichoke hearts, carrots with dill. vanilla no fat soft serve ice cream with strawberries and a small Passover brownie. 2 glasses of wine.
B: rice chex, 1% milk, strawberries, coffee
S: Granola bar
L: Turkey, swiss, lettuce, tomato wheat bread sammy, mayo and mustard and a pickle
D: salad with blue cheese crumbles/vinagrette, and 1/2 chicken breast grilled
