oops, my image disappeared.
I thought Cato was Inspector Clouseau's dangerous sidekick:
So, what's the last picture to link to, Zorro or Inspector Clouseau?
Bingo... The Green Hornet's chauffeur/sidekick "Kato" was Bruce Lee's first acting role. He later showed up as Inspector Clouseau's valet and sparring partner in the second Pink Panther movie, "A Shot in the Dark."
In a circular reference, Britt Reid, the Green Hornet's secret identity, was a blood relative of another Masked Man:

Different sidekick, though...
I'm sitting here waiting for someone to post a picture of Silver. Where are you Mr Silver? <tapping foot impatiently>

Eden - one of my friends dresses like steed - only without the bowler hat. He's very dapper. Obviously this isn't a picture of him (nor of me).
OMG, is that where we are headed???

Guys, this is a fun thread, but remember it is against forum rules to link directly from another site -- unless it is your own photo sharing site account, like Photobucket, etc.
*** What is Direct/Hot-Linking?
Direct Linking occurs when you "pull" a photo directly from a different website for embedded display in your post. If you do this without permission from the site on which the photo is hosted, you are in effect stealing bandwidth from them.
the above photo is hotlinked, but its mine, from my website, from the domain my husband owns and the bandwidth we pay for - safe?
And speaking of Jolly Green Giant, SilverSon and I rented Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna (with the Chocolate Giant) - ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING MOVIE!

I'm depressed. I did a search on google for Homer hoping for a picture of an ancient Greek wearing a laurel leaf crown.....You guessed it. :(
Now I'm going to take my car to the car wash instead and ponder the decline of Western civilisation.
Homer but no laurel

That's great - but I don't think two of us are going to be enough to turn this round.
Where are you trying to turn it to?
Sorta the laurel without the Homer:

welcome...
The laurel wreath was for winners of athletic contests. So that's probably why you couldn't find Homer with one.
I kind of like this as a prize for athletic contests myself.

Who do you know who placed 3rd in the BARB's race? I'm amazed impressed and jealous (I ran 10 steps after my dog today and sprained my ankle).

Ahem, not to be a smart alec but...
' In ancient Greece wreaths were awarded to victors, both in athletic competitions, including the ancient Olympics, and in poetic meets'

The national gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh (aka the Athens of the North).
The bicycles are an added bonus. (The soup tins were a temperory aberration)
If Homer truly existed, the date of his birth is usually 850 - 800 BC. The laurel wreath was only awarded at the Pythian games. The laurel was the symbol of Apollo and the Pythian games were in honor of him. These didn't start until 600 BC or so, but did have poetry and music competitions. Thus you are unlikely to found a bust of Homer with a laurel wreath. Of course you could always make one in photoshop. :p

As a technical illustrator, it's really bothering me that on those 10 cans of soup the flavor names are crooked and not curved in perspective to the same extent as the other label elements above and below them. :( It's a curse, I tell you! :(
I hate to tell you how much time I've wasted trying to get a view of Warhol's soup can(s) to see how he did it. The images on web pages are small - but it looks to me like he did it just that way - with flat words on the side of the "round" can.
Blame Andy.
Some seem to be curv-ish and some not.
Or maybe that's what happens when you stare at them too long
Not defeated, now you have more "useless" information crammed into your brain. :D
