Montana at the trough......
My cats only do that when there's brewer's yeast on the popcorn! (Tasty--try it--must have butter for it to stick, and don't forget the salt.)
Mae looks nothing like skidboot :) There are some pictures of Mae on my homepage, she has her own section
Spazzdog's dog Quid looks very much like Skidboot (resemblence ends there, sorry Spazz, Quid's a doll).
Thanks Trek :) !! What a special story about Skidboot. I'll be sure to post it on a pet-grief site that I moderate :). Skidboot's story will surely bring lots of smiles to the people there. Thanks again!
Peace & Love,
Denise
This is Stinky Dog enjoying my friend's back yard. Someday I will have a yard, and he will be a very happy stinky dog, because he loves to be outside and watch the world go by.

awwwww, he's a cute stinky dog :p
No way! He's a dachshund! All this time! You never told me! :D He's gorgeous. How old is he?
Here are our three babies. Cookie (the cocker), Max (the black lab) and Jimbo (the golden).
Stinky dog is adorable. All the dog photos are adorable, I will not cave. I am a cat person. No dogs in this house, I will be strong....
Don't cave Bikingmom! I love cats, but they don't get along with my bronchial tubes very well. They are very cute little critters, tho, and if I could, I would probably have 3 of them also.
I love seeing people's pets. Makes me want more and more.... how many dogs do you think I can fit on our acre lot? 50? 100?
Y'know... not crazy about dogs, but I've been so curious about fennec foxes... So cute... always wanted to own a fox (ya think?) :D
I had a fox that slept in my backyard. He/she (I never did find out) was adorable and hurt nothing. I do not know if they eat mice or not, but we never had a rodent problem. :) He/she just wanted a warm place to crash and our house came with an outdoor dog house. So for the 6 years we lived there, we "had" a fox.
they also like to follow you when your out on your bike.
...can I move in? Maybe a tent in the back yard, or a hole in the ground? Live with the foxies like Grizzly Man and go running (jogging) real slow, ...like I do... help you molest ducks for flu tests, etc etc... it could be a good time!
...oh... can I bring DGF too? She'd be upset about the tent/hole thing, but she'd come around... eventually.
Finally taking the time to figure out how to post photos! I brought home a sweet little kitty who I now believe was abandoned    in a wooded hiking area right outside of town. (Put ad in newspaper, called Animal Shelter. No one has claimed him after 5 days.) Well, he's got a home now. Not a name yet - we're still working on that. He'll go into the vet tomorrow for a check-up. I am hoping they can estimate his age. Of course, I don't know if he's had his shots - I hope there's some protocol they can follow for that. I also need to know if he's neutered or not......... if not, I will schedule. The whole family is in love with him already. Incredibly affectionate, loving, well-behaved, yet crazy little guy. So good to have a cat around the house again! So here he is! (I hope.)
Annie,
He is gorgeous. Congratulations on your newest addition to the family. :)
Annie, He looks just like a cat we used to have - her name was "Sissy", as in "sister to our other cat" (though not related). Something about the black and white gene makes for a very sweet kitty!!
Nina
Annie, congrats on the great cat!
Kitsune, I used to work at the Boise city zoo when i was in my early 20's and we raised some baby foxes. They have a really skunky body odor. If you can get past that, they really are a lot of fun. I think i'd like them more than dogs.
They are more cat like. :p
Ooh, Annie. I see your new friend has already made himself comfy! :p
Pets that choose US, versus the other way around, are such a treat!
(of course, they're all great! - but I tend to gravitate towards bunnies! Since I seem to have the ONLY bunnies on this forum, I thought I'd post my bridge bunny, Nike (1992-1999), the little fuzz-ball who started it all for me. He's a bit "crooked" from a raging inner ear infection that he had (at this point) recovered from, but which left him with chronic head tilt (or, wry neck).
Nike chose me - so glad he did. So did Noah. Noah chose Tasha at an adoption day for the House Rabbit Society. You can tell: Tasha won't give me the time of day, but Noah is definitely all mine.
Regina, Nike is a beautiful bunny! And I think the head tilt thingy is very charming!
Mimi-
I've really read up on foxes, and I think I could handle the odour, but it's the idea that they'd need so much more space (and that I don't see myself leaving Oregon any time soon) Maybe I can get a special license from the state.... I always used fox pee cover scent for deer hunting, and it was never anywhere near as offensive as anything else.
Regina- I love your bunny. The head tilt makes him unique, I think. Glad the infection is in remission as of now. You've got to be careful- they can come back pretty easily. (My parents have a cat that has recurrent ear infections- nasty ones. She's deaf as a result. :( )
Annie- I'm a believer in Sanskrit names- they bestow their energy on anyone who speaks and hears them. My suggestion then is Bandhu- it translates into "Friend" :)
Thanks, all , for the name suggestions! I am making a list and letting the family vote......... Decision will be made on Tuesday night. (I take him to the vet on Wed. morning and would like to have a name to give them. )
FishDr - Hope it's not too late to wish you good luck with all the moving!
Regina - Love the name Tasha! My son has a guinea pig by that name and she's a sweetie! Never had much experience with a bunny, tho' I've heard they can be difficult to care for?
Getting close to bedtime for me, ladies. Gonna make some Sleepytime Tea and relax with a good book.
annie
Annie - I've always loved the name Natasha, but it seemed like such a "big" name for such a little bunny! Bunnies aren't difficult, they just require some adjustments that are different from those you might make for a cat or dog. Rabbits are kind of unique.
Since bunnies are famous for their procreation urges, spaying is a must (helps with the smells, behavior issues, and overall health, too). They are also famous for chewing (their teeth are constantly growing so they need to chew to keep them trim) so they must be provided with better things to chew than your walls, wires, etc. Once you learn a bit about bunny basics, it's pretty simple. Here's some basic info, if you're curious:

The main House Rabbit Society site: http://www.rabbit.org/ provides a wealth of info.
Kitsune06 - unfortunatly, Nike is no longer with me. He died at the vet's a few years ago (knocking them out for surgery is always risky with them). But like your paren't cat, Nike was also deaf - at least in one ear - from his infection. Didn't make him any less special. I was forever telling him "Nike...you're the best bunny in the WHOLE WORLD!" :p

Here's my pound dog, Jimmy. The name is not very original, but I needed one FAST. To scold him.....for sh***ing in the car on the way home from the pound! Poor dog, I should have walked him more after he left the humane society! Fortunately, that was not a recurring habit! He's 9yo now, and still plays with his "Bear!"
Hopefully that worked. First picture attempt.....and second....`
slowly trying to get pics...
This is Jack... being kept/loved/caredfor by Daddy (but Mom visits as often as she can...)
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1...lack%20cat.jpg
He kind of struck me when he was at the shelter- his eyes are kind of far apart for a cat, but when you rest your forehead against his, you're exactly eye to eye- the way he likes it.
He's very much a 'person in a cat's body'... a silly little person... who pees on things sometimes...
The black one is Annabel Lee (named for the Edgar Allen Poe poem). She is queen of our house. We just got Vladimir (the Russian blue) a couple weeks ago. Annabel hates him and I think prays that he'll go away soon, but they're warming up to each other. I love those little brats!!
Annabel will be 3 in March and has much disdain for everyone, however, she does get frisky when we bring out her sparkly pom-pom balls. (She would be mortified to know that we have a video of her when she was smaller, spinning round and round after a feather-stick.) I think she was royalty in a past life.
Vlad is only 6 months old and has so much life. I've forgotten what it's like to have a kitten in the house. He has three modes, sleep, cuddle, and CRAZED. He's a lot more affectionate than Annabel. He's sort of like a frat boy. "Hey, black cat, you wanna play??" "HISS SPIT GROWL CURSE!!" "Okay, cool, maybe later." (Repeat 10 seconds later.)
Sorry, I have a tendency to go on and on about them. I'm not ready for human babies yet, so I talk about the furry ones incessantly.
