Good Lord! So people outside of Norway do actually notice Norwegian films from time to time! Cool, I always thought it was just the journalists wanting it to be so... :D
Max Manus is good as a realistic portrayal of a war "hero", also the negative sides. It's also very good on 40's atmosphere. It's pretty tightly connected to Norways experience of the war, som it might be a bit too insiderish for others. Even though I don't like Aksel Hennie much (he's in every other NOrwegian movie and I'm a bit sick of those souldful eyes...) this is one of his better roles.
