Man, Frederick is so far away....
It's more about the getting up early and/or just making the trek. This is the off-season. I sleep in and ride from my door. ;)
We have our "holy day of team obligation" ride the day before, so the hand-holding for new recruits may continue onto that Sunday anyway. We need to get more people showing up to rides.
oh it's soooo tempting to go over for shoppin in Frederick.... If you wander into the Brass Anchor, tell them I said hi!
I have a house guest coming here that weekend, and concert tix for Sat night so ..... as someone else said, if you have to talk about me, be nice. :)
It's the allure of the C&O. The more you ride it, the more you want to spend time in places like Frederick. ;)
And saying that Frederick is the new Georgetown isn't such a stretch, that seems to be what they're aiming for downtown these days. Heck, the town's now got a chef who cut his teeth in DC: Bryan Voltaggio (at whose restaurant they apparently make Bloody Marys from scratch, whatever that means).
Frederick wants to be Georgetown on Market Street, and Rockville everywhere else. Like Leesburg.
Glad you can come!
And as to why Frederick, the idea of a non-cycling get-together was Zen's, so it seems fair that we not make her drive the entire distance to DC, and I certainly can't think of a fun place to shop in, say, Gaithersburg or Rockville.
If someone wants to organize another lunch in DC for the new year, that would be cool.
There seem to be a lot of Georgetown or Old Town wannabees. Warrenton, Leesburg, Frederick, etc. Whatever makes the community nicer and has a "community" feel, which there is a dearth of here.
It'll be probably good to wait until after the Inauguration to do something in the city. Although having the bars open all night sounds like it would appear to those wild Maryland gals. ;)
Especially me. Goin' to the Big City is a big whoop-dee-do. Yee Haw!!
