I need a haircut too.
When I clip it up the ends are so light it looks like I'm wearing a cheap add-on hairpiece:eek:

The place where the fence was hit is right across a street/alley from a house where all kinds of shenanigans go on. We find liquor bottles and stuff back there all the time. I'm thinking of installing a video camera out there and plastering a big sign about it. Maybe that will keep the teenagers from smoking pot there between their garage and their privacy fence.

Red, grey and black (ther'es a group in Silver Spring MD too) squirrels.
Then there are the 13-stripe ground squirrels and the chipmunks.
This has turned into the haircut thread. Didn't take a pic as I didn't think of it until I had finished mowing. By then it was soaked.
And Kaibab ("KI-bab long 'i") squirrels - have white on the sides and under side of their tails, tassels on their ears. Native to N AZ. And the ones on the north rim of the Grand Canyon have all white tails.
and now living in cajun country, I feel compelled to add.... need a recipe?
Beth- recipe for squirrel?!
I always wonder what it is like to live somewhere else. DH and I were both born 30 miles from where we own a house. I ride past the old high school I went to on my commute home. My parents live 14 miles away, his father 5, his mother 45. I lived away for a while in college but only 101 miles. Maybe this is why everytime I travel I want to move there?
I wonder too. I've lived in the same state my entire life (4 cities). Would be really nice to try somewhere else (of course, I should have thought of tha tbefore I went to law school - now I'd probably have to take another bar to go anywhere I would want to go).

Born and raised in the Air Force. And moss hasn't grown under my feet yet. ;) Somewhere I got the gypsy gene. Part of me thinks it's time to move again.... And on a hot muggy day day like today, I'm thinking someplace cooler.
Squirrels are quite yummy, a bit like rabbit. Dredge in seasoned flour, saute, pour on some wine (white, red, or water). Simmer. Can add some nice mushrooms to the simmer. Generally takes at least two squirrels per person for a serving - as the only thing with much meat are the legs and thighs.
Doesn't NC have reciprocity? Depends on where you want to go of course.
I wish I'd grown up with a home - and I didn't move near as much as you military kids. Pity poor me of course, but I think the worst of both worlds is to stay someplace just long enough to develop some relationships, then get yanked out.
Beth, you must be akin to my DH- he's a Brit who views the wildlife as grub, especially our current overpopulated wild bunnies.... Somehow I could never eat the wildlife, not that I'm veggie, just like bunnies too much I guess.
I saw my red squirrel again this morning- yes, they're much brighter than the European variety and no cute ear tufts ala Squirrel Nutkin (B. Potter).
As for haircuts I'm pondering switching hairdressers. I adore my current one and she really a genius, but the last couple times hasn't listened to what I asked for and chopped it off because she thought it was more flattering. I think it can be flattering at a few different lengths myself (maybe I'm totally wrong??) and am paying waaaaay too much to not get what I want. But then I hate the trial and error of finding a new one.... devil you know vs devil you don't? Hmmmmm
Of our parents, only one (my dad) wasn't born in the area we live. My Dad's adoptive parents were both born here. When they adopted my dad in 1960 he moved here and never left. My Nanny and my husband's grandmas graduated from the same high school. My mom and I were born in the same delivery room. My husband was born at a different local hospital. Our roots run so deep here I wonder how to pull them up. :p
I never even changed schools due to a move, only boundary changes or moving up to the next type.
Big drift...........
we are having pie tonight for no particular reason...yum.......
