1. Mount Rushmore
2. Because it's the UFO capitol. ;)
3. Because the color green is so soothing and because the US isn't as sophisticated in the fine arts, unlike our Euro neighbors. :)
4. Have a good night!

Six Grandfathers.
Because New Hampshire and New York were already taken.
Because then they'd have to change hundreds of American colloquialisms based on "green," and also the title of that classic Paul Newman film.
Sweet dreams.
And why isn't Mexico called Old Mexico or Mexico Classic? ;)
Yeah, I know about the bocce (I mean, bocce must be Italian), but I've only seen in played on TV in NZ. :)
They have chiggers in Alabama, too, ;)
CC, no offense taken. It is pronounced Arkinsaw! Unless you're in Kansas, then it's pronounced Arkansas (with the s). http://www.arkcity.org/portal/portal.asp

In my family, the answer to this one....
Why haven't they changed the colour of your money?
is because then we can't make fun of our Canadian family about their money. :) When the US started adding some color to our money, it destroyed YEARS of teasing within my family. Couple that with the toppling of the US dollar and now the two being equal in value, well I'm running out of things to tease my cousins about. :) Yet they have new things to tease me with - I guess turnabout is fair play, as the saying goes.
An alltime great movie line, when he is riding his bike and gets hit by something or someone, and he comments "gone with the Schwinn".
How is this for political diversion and yet cycling related - anyone ever see the Frasier episode where he and Niles are going to ride bikes in a charity ride but do not know how to ride? Very funny episode, especially when they are buying the bikes and acting like they know what they are talking about. Kinda reminds me of me. :)
One way to get world views is to listen to short wave radio. Still have mine - and back when I was doing field research, in some areas that was the only way I could get anything other than AM. I had an eye opening by listening to the BBC, or radio Moscow (in english). My evening entertainment in camp was listening to radio shows.
I suppose for the modern era, you could look up internation news web sites, and many are multi-lingual.
AND I AM NOT AN OLD PHART. I got turned on to short wave radios by my brother, who build one from a Radio Shack kit back when he was in 6th grade, and we're talking a complicated kit too. Big Brother is now a Rocket Scientist.
But it's more fun to lie on your cot and twist the radio dial. :p
Are you a Contact fan? That's my favorite Jodie Foster movie.
I used to stare out my window every night to watch the stars. My favorite skies are in Alaska. The evening sky and stars are unlike anything I've seen anywhere else.
[QUOTE=crazycanuck;325575]I do have a few questions about the US.
What's the name of the rock structure with the four presidents on it?
Why is one state called New Mexico? I guess I could locate the state info site :o
Why haven't they changed the colour of your money?

1. Mount Rushmore...located in the BEAUTIFUL Black Hills of South Dakota.
2. It's called New Mexico because it was supposed to be a new and better Mexico.....(just made that up. Sounds good though)
3. Green is pretty.;)
