My replacement tubes FINALLY arrived yesterday. I had too much other stuff going on when I got home, so I couldn't try the tire change. It was raining anyway. Ugh! We'll see how today goes - I might have to wait until Friday afternoon. That's going to be 2 weeks off the bike! I'm starting to get a little twitchy. :eek:
If fishdr (can't remember your name dear) doesn''t get to ride soon...stand back or else there'll be little pieces of an upset fishdr all over...!!!
I found out today from the Ironman WA volunteer cooridinator that i'm on the list to help at the event! No clue what one does volunteering on the bike leg but i hope it's more exciting than marshalling on the side of the road. I did this at the 1/2 and just about fell asleep....standing up!
Our friend is healing slowly, she'll be off the bike for about 5-8 weeks.
I had never heard of anyone dislocating their elbow until tues night...:eek: ouch!

CC - it's Lanie. Glad to hear your friend is recovering. I can't even imagine what goes into dislocating an elbow! Yeesh! If one more thing happens at work today they will be cleaning up pieces of fishdr from the ceiling! I need to ride!

My bent friend is home. Apparently, after you have a seizure, you are not supposed to drive for six months, or you have to be evaluated by a neurologist, or something. The neurologist put him on anti-seizure meds, which makes no sense to me. It's not like he was having seizures before getting bent, so there's no reason why he would now. That's be like, your kid has a high temp, and has a seizure, so they put him on anti-seizure medication. When there's a one-time clearly explanable reason for it- whats the point?
Got my acting-up car stereo looked at and hopefully fixed today. Got a real connection for my MP3 player, not an FM transmitter!!! While I was waiting to have that installed, at Best Buy, I had to wait inside the store, so I bought a car cleaning attachment kit for Beloved Dyson. Tried it out when I got home- it works great!
Only one more day of vacation left- and I'm going riding on the General James Van Fleet paved trail. I hope it's nice and pretty and the person I tricked into going with me likes it. It's a 100 mile drive.
Time for a nap!!

My mom had a similar anti-seizure meds thing. I think her episode was undx'd diabetes. Finally got off those meds, since she never really had seizures!

Wow. I bought a quiche for dinner at Whole Foods (i know, I know, it's more of a breakfast thing, but it looked good).
Now I can't get that B-52's lyric out of my head: "Quiche! Quiche Lorraine!"
Quiche sounds great! Sometimes I cook breakfast for dinner. We'll have blueberry buttermilk pancakes, bacon, the works! The kids love it!
Have you tried the white chocolate M&M's? They're quite yummy!
I think capris have arrived, the ones that will change my life. But the GT commuter is at LBS still so my life shall remain the same for now.
Off to walk the pooch, later maybe try them on.
Which I've now done and ..... aack, right outa the bag, zipper's stuck. Back they go. Life remains unchanged, no need to lock up the gorgeous hotties.
Ah, but my dear Trek, Susan posted that TE has 3 XL aloe Zoics now! We can get them! The gorgeous hotties will be on alert!:D

My too-small L's fit my friend soooooooo well and looked sooooooo good on her. I have high hopes. (she doesn't need the gorgeous hotties, she needs the gorgeous handsomes. hopefully she'll send the hotties my way :p )

A whole bunch of us from the perth mtb site have moulded together and become biking partners/friends etc. Linda and her hubby are part of our mould...
We often go camping & biking and I just try and keep up....:D
Here's what tom posted about the incident-
At the hospital the doctors put her elbow back in, which would've hurt like hell, but she was doped up. She has a cast on her arm, which will be there for 4-6 weeks and then I guess she will have to undergo a bit of physiotherapy to help all those stretched / damaged tendons heal properly. She will see a specialist in a few days, so hopefully we will have a better idea of what the full deal is.
I saw the xrays and the lower arm bone had been forced out of the elbow socket and about 4cm back. It looked bloody painful. I am trying to get copies to post up. They don't have hard copies of xrays at Royal Perth.
