I can only imagine what 'cryptic' would entail. Judging from another thread, I'm guessing we'd hear "Roger that, TE, the horse is in the fort" if positive, or "wheels are spinning, but the rider's dead" if not...
OOHHH - have fun Lise!!!
It's from the "Ohhhhhh no...." thread in Non-cycling Open Topic... though the 'negative' one was based on the "The wheel's spinning but the hampster's dead" :D
Bored, bored, bored. Entertain me.
I went to DeAnza Flea Market today - always fun. A couple of enterprising ladies have converted an old trailer into a very nifty coffee/espresso/latte shop. Very cool, and so much better than the people that sell awful coffee in the liter cups. I found a great steet sign for my office cubicle "GOA WAY" And Sox!!! And a patchwork kinda hoodie made by a woman from Nepal. Shopping therapy. It's a good thing.
I'm watching Ray Davies on PBS right now...(younger girls are now scratching their heads......Ray Davies?):p
Wow, Snap, the flea market - impressive!
So we had some fun with nature just now. We tried to let the (fat indoor/outdoor) cat out, but there were 3 huge racoons on the deck (so I called him back in). Anyway, they kept coming right up to the sliding glass door when we were standing there. We'd close it really quickly when they got too close - but they're gutsly little critters, aren't they?? They were fairly disappointed I grabbed the small bowl that we keep the outdoor semi-feral cay's fod in. Another reminder not to put so much in that bowl...
I remember the time one got trapped in the bungee cord-tied shut garbage can of dog food we kept on the deck. Our rottie was just fascinated by the can and we couldn't figure it out til we took the lid off and the little bandit poked his head out.
This is why we cannot use our cat door.
'coons are awesome, too. I had a "pet" 'coon who lived by my appt complex in Eugene. Bigger than either of our cats (possibly bigger than both put together) he looked like a big, fuzzy cuddlebear, but I don't think I'd try. :p Ugh, I miss having pets big enough to cuddle.
I'm trying to burn my worktime as fast as I can, too. Bored, bored, bored. Looking at directions for this cart and trying to think of who I know with an oxy-acetylene torch. I think the landlord does. It uses plywood as a floor, but y'know, I might come up with something thinner and lighter.*shrug* This bugger will *definitely* help this winter when I'm carting wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of compost into my raised bed gardens though... =P
I didn't see the little guy either when I was at work! All of a sudden, there he was today! Isaac the cat likes the little guy a lot. He keeps trying to pin him down with his paw.
Maybe I'll write up a date report and PM it to the interested throng! I had a great time.
Count me in on the PM parade!
Inquiring minds want to know!
Hey Lise
I get excited enough over TE folks' lives, etc... I don't need to be in on the PM throng, but I'm glad you had a good time.
As long as people are happy, that's all I ever want. :D
When I was biking down Highway 101 in Fall 1980 I grew beansprouts. Hung 'em in a cut off nylon from the rails under the saddle and watered them a few times a day. Great! Ingenious! Nutrish too!
'til one day in Northern California in the middle of the redwoods in a Park a racooon ate them one night!
Never liked raccoons since that day
lise, add me to the update list. I neeeeed to know the details.
