You are too funny! What I want to figure out is how to change my handle without linking it to all my other posts. I'll email the admins. Brina, what a nightmare, to have a psil "reading up" on you. Well, what a nightmare to have a psil at all. My brother is marrying such a good woman in a week and a half! :D And my sister's husb is wonderful, too.

The problem with my name is that it's so uncommon. And way back in May, I typed in my full name when referring to someone cheering for me at a race. Now if you google my full name, that post comes up. Which links you to every other post I've made under this handle. Harumph. I am a cyber-idiot sometimes.

I'll email the admins and see what they suggest. For now, I'm off to the hosp for a night on call. My colleague delivered four babies today, but that's no guarantee that there aren't more in the works! Babies. Who can tell?! :rolleyes:

Baby-catcher: how about changing your name to "MWBR"?

I don't feel any bad energy from the apt next door. It's weird, cuz I really expected it. (and before anyone scoffs, let me just say that the vast majority of body-worker/healthcare folks I know DO have a sense of energy fields. I didn't used to believe, but these days I do.) Quiet sadness, but nothing else. But their little patch of grass where she was screaming, that's not good. I need to do something there, I think. At the very least for me.

I have lit a few candles at church, and that felt right.

Maybe I'll plant something "for" him in the flower bed our apartments share.

What a trip if those photo's are anything to go by. I have read and heard and aseen pictures of all that Fall foliage ( like everyone) but now I can believe it since someone I know has hiked it!
Are those your boots?

Knot- energy is very much a tangible thing... maybe a light sprinkle of salt (not enough to kill the grass, but just a little) might help? rosewater? I purge the house from time to time with sage and sweetgrass, and that helps... (hippy!)

Speaking of hippishness... doing the henna thing. It takes so gosh-dern long for it to do its thing, though, I'm kinda wanting to nap, but I'd prolly make a mess. (my naturally dark ashen brown/vaguely reddish hair isn't going to be colored *too* much by the henna that I'd panic if I overdid it) but I so need encouragement to just stay awake...

You know, I get more empathy and understanding about my neighbor's suicide from you guys than from DPITA. I called her and told her about it the day it happened, and told her I was upset, and she got mad at me. She said I was letting it ruin my life. (hello, it had been 8 hours since it happened)

Mind you, this is the woman who broke up with me the morning after my dad's funeral before we even got out of bed. She said she didn't like my attitude.

Yes, I think I need to do something outside for the hurting patch of grass. Sprinkle flowers on it? I have lavender and rosemary. Salt doesn't feel right, but sprinkling something does.

Kit, I need to do the henna thing, too. My problem has been that the day after henna if I sweat it runs henna-y. And I've been riding the last 3 weekends. So I've put off the henna. Maybe this weekend.

Both, I think. Lavendar is soothing and relaxing, rosemary has a cleansing affect (isn't the blessing at the entry of a circle done with a sprig of rosemary dipped in water w/ lavender oil in it?)

Sometimes I think the TE (especially TD) group is a sort of adoptive family. We all know we can come here for support and love, or to share our day, or brighten another's, if we can't do so elsewhere.

Hearing you chat reminds me when e-mail was a new thing. I was working at hospital , and we had just merged with another hospital. After Integrating the e-mail systems. My boss and I started receiving e-mails from the other hospital with subject like "The scheduler for Left handed veterans from Jefferson County who have CHF and COPD and are getting PT has an MD appointment today" Turns out, they send out the e-mail to everybody. Thankfully that was not my Headache. One day, when leaving She called mer to talk with her and her Boss (madam President). My boss was also having problems with people e-mailing stuff "over her head" and inappropriate forwarding. Being techno-girl, They wanted my opinion. I remember telling them that e-mail something was like putting your message on a Billboard along I-44. Once it leaves your PC, you lose control over it. That was 10 years ago, and I still use that axiom today. I tend to think carefully about posting. Sorry about the rant

I googled my first name (a very unusual one) + cycling and came up with 6 or so hits, a few of them on TE because ahem Velo Girl frequently just calls me by name here ahem.

So much for the anonymity of the net and another reason I'll never talk about my dates here ;-)

But you could change your name, even have a name the TE gal contest like duck on wheels had (you might limit it to TE TD if you don't want the new one posted so much).

I vote for MWBR or hottriathletebabycatcher.

After an entire week of b-52 related joy, it's good to just have cider, I think. (CWR, the invite's still open... a quick flight down, some bartending lessons, some free drinks, cider and a ride? Eh?)

I vote for MWBR, esp. if the pseudonym is to mask her identity. If you don't know her, but she feels like introducing herself, well... more will be revealed. ;)

Then again, hottriathletebabycatcher or just babycatchintrihotty works (if you want to make it a little shorter...)

Hey guys! The more I think about this, the more I think I need to just "go dark" on the dating issue. (A groan goes up from TD :rolleyes:) Cuz anybody creepy enough to want to "find" me will do so, no matter how clever or flattering my new nom-de-plume. KN, interesting comment about body/healthcare workers having a sense of energy fields. Our call room at the hospital is on the floor above labor and delivery. In the 80s, it was the AIDS hospice unit. Sometimes I "feel" some of that energy here. Especially around the end of this month. Like Kitsune, I l usually use salt for cleansing, but like you, I wouldn't put it on grass. Perhaps make a blessing and sprinkle the lavendar and rosemary. Then honor that place with loving energy whenever you pass it.

Yeah, after some thought, I kind of put it together that salt+grass=bad. Don't mind me, I'm a little slowish tonight. Salt is great for cleansing indoors, but yeah, I'd stick with the lavender/rosemary.

On the email thing, hubby told me the story a few years back about someone learning the hardway about lack of confidentiality and "reply all." He works in a large state department. Two co-workers were having a secret affair. At least one of them was married and they were setting up their trysts via email. You guessed it. An all employee email came out and one responded to the other with 2 comments, one about the email and one about their hotel, and, of course, hit "reply all." The IT dept had to shut down the entire email system because everyone else then had to start gossiping via email. They locked up the system in minutes.

Yes, those are my soggy boots in the picture. Foliage was peak in the valleys (the 2nd pic was looking down) and past peak at elevation. Most of the hike was too overcast for the foliage to look spectacular, but it was still quite nice. And the crisp breezy fall air was great.

Maybe I'm turning into a recluse, but I love being on the trail by myself. Or too many years worrying about my kids and other people. Just so much simpler when it's only me.

Maybe that's another reason I like to hike. Sometimes it's good to drop out of the world for a few days and miss the news (more school shootings, how sad).

Today's 4 am food was yogurt and dried cranberries. I'm craving fresh blueberries now though. Nothing like hiking for a few days to make me obsessed with food.
