I remember this book from grade school.... it was very good. How does this link with cormorants you say..... the girl in the story was very proud of the cormorant skin skirt she made herself. I suppose she even kind of links to the last photo.... wild woman of sorts...but not really so if you all want to skip this one go ahead (I just couldn't resist the challenge to link to cormorants ;) )
I love that book! Read it to my boys about 2 yrs ago. They didn't enjoy it as much as me. lol! But I remember her cormorant skin skirt.
Let's move along.
Scaryyy 80's film that i've never really wanted to actually endure. The Exorcist was enough for me
Equally scary

While I'll admit not knowing what they were, I did know they weren't red eyed loons....but whenever I see waterfowl, Katherine Hepburn is the first thing I think of;)
So, back at ya' Zen;):D
Oh CC, "American Werewolf" is graphic (at least by 1980s standards, probably not so much today) but it's hysterically funny!! I bet you would enjoy it if you don't mind cartoon-ish gore.
As for the cormorants, I thought they were anhingas. I keep forgetting the differences between those two. <busy busy, looking it up> okay, I was going to make myself a mnemonic, but the site I found already has a mnemonic! The Cormorant has the curved (hooked) bill (like the letter C) and a continuous flight pattern (cannot soar), the Anhinga's bill is pointy (like the letter A) and it alternates between soaring and flapping. Thanks for putting me onto that! :D
