BETA! Good Lord, woman! You scared me! I was composing the post that follows, and when I hit reply, first thing that popped up was that picture! YIKES!
Och! Y'er talking leek m'ancestors! (It's hopeless. I have too much Swedish, Danish, German, and yes, I'm sorry, English blood mixed in here. :p ) But leave t'haggis be! It can'na be gud fer ya!
So sorry to hear L.A. popped back up overnight. What a big, fat baby. Oh, that doesn't sound right, coming as an insult coming from a midwife... But seriously. Thanks, salsa, for educating me as to trolls and sock puppets. I will feed neither. Somehow I'm doubting he's 24 and a competitive cyclist, eh?!
Salsa, also sorry to hear that you have a contractor who believes that "no roof" is habitable in the PNW. Glad you have a good cattery, and your little guys will be fine. Enjoy your Hilton experience.
I miss Nanci, SK, and, hey, fishdr's been pretty scarce this weekend, too! I know Nanci's riding, maybe SK's caring for her dad and mom, and the fish family is in the throes of packing for the move.

Beta - they all look like that in Paisley. Ask CC.
I just know it - someone's from Paisley's gonna register and I'm gonna get it. If you don't hear from me for a while contact the Polis.
-
Oh! My eyes, my eyes!
The inhumanity of it all. :p
Gotta admit, scrolling down, that scared the h*ll out of me. That wouldn't be a pic of L.A.'s gf, would it?

My Scottish accent only comes back if I'm: around Scots, or extremely stressed, or watching a movie filmed in Scotland.
Which made drama class and giving presentations pretty funny.
Otherwise if people notice anything, they think I'm Canadian, which is ok with me.
Be'y bough' a bi' of bu'er
Bu' she found the bu'er bi'er
So she bough' a be'er bi' of bu'er
To make the bi'er bu'er be'er
Ah, Scottish public school. You WILL pronounce your "T"s, children!

[QUOTE=betagirl;126180]Not even this? (I found it doing a google image search for paisley)
I have silently read all 306 pages (I could be off by a page or two) and nothing brought me out of lurkdom (I am shy) until I saw this photo and choked on my coffee.
I have been silently cheering everyone on, worrying about ill parents, and hoping Lise's dates go well. Welcoming new additions, such as Nanci's baby (even I thought it cute and I am not a snake fan), worried about Roux, cheered when Fish's house sold and they found a new one, a lovely one at that. Yet, I have stayed silent, for fear I did not belong (oh goodness that sounded so Junior High).
Anyway, this picture brought me out of my lurkdom. If I am interrupting what appears to be a very friendly group, I will slink back into obscurity.

Welcome Bikingmomof3 - but today is talking Scottish day so you have to give it a go, ken whit ah mean. Ah, dinae be shy.
I've been in touch with the appropriate authorities and confirmed that everyone has to at least have a go. Who are the appropriate authorities I hear you ask...welll, um, you know...well anyway they said it was definitely official:p :o

I'm afraid if I try to talk like a Scot, I'll sound like the guy from Highlander.
L.A. is exhausting me. What a bore.
-
Yay, BMo3!!!!!
You know you belong here!
And you've already passed the initiation ceremony (reading all the pages of TD)
Glad to see you! Jump on in!
-
Bruno-I am with Snap on attempting to sound Scottish. Think Highlander at best. Not good. However I do spell colour and flavour "properly, does that count? :p
KnottedYet-I was beginning to wonder if reading all of TD was a bad sign of some illness yet to be diagnosed, then realized I just loved it here. :D
I have not looked around yet today, is it true LA came back. I confess, he is my boyfriend.

Och, lassie, we are all Thread Drifters chust nae. Although I expect I'll be having nightmares in paisley tonight...whoof. A sight to behold, that was.

Buyer's Regret: The Morning After
Ok, I was so frustrated over being unable to find a taller riser quilled stem ANYWHERE that I bought the first one I found.
Girls, it's butt-ugly.
I held it up to Flossie this morning and just felt ILL. I can't put this thing on her!!! It's powdercoated black, which is fine, but the gooseneck is this HUGE flattened aluminum tube which is wider than any tube on Flossie and just looks awful with a huge H2O logo on it to boot.
So today I will be getting in a bike ride, after all. I'll go back to LBS #2 and return the fugly stem and ask them to order me a Nitto (kinda like what Lisa has on her Riv, from what I see in her pics)
Flossie deserves better. Even though I don't like the looks of a dropping gooseneck, the classic small-diameter steel will suit her better.
And I'm not too sore today, so maybe the ride will be more comfy this time. (only about 30 miles to the shop and back)
