Nope, you're not. I'm 53, and there are quite a few other 50-somethings around - plus some 60-somethings too as you can see from this thread.Quote:

Thanks, Denise! I admit I had not read the entire thread. I have now! Incredible women!
My bike found me again about a year and a half ago after many years of being lost & I couldn't be happier! Not only has riding brought out my *inner tortoise* but my inner child as well!

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: No, I'm not mad at you
Most memorable moment on my bike: I was a little kid (~15 years ago) and had a pink bike with a banana seat. My sister, her friend and I decided to have a race down our street (they had 10 speeds) and I beat them both. I just remember loving my bike so much that day and thinking it was the best bike in the world.
Most fun ever had on a bike? Probably the time I listed above and the many road rides I've had with my husband.
Welcome to the board Jenn! Ionic?.......time for me to go off on a search as that would be a new name in bikes to me!

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 40.0mph; Bankers Rd (yes, downhill); Hillsdale County, MI; 8/4/05 2:30pm.
Another picture of yourself or your ride? oops, I broke my digital camera :(
What is the biggest lie you've ever told: too long and too boring of a story to share, but I learned my lesson and haven't lied since (well, maybe white ones...)
Most memorable moment on my bike: I'd have to go with the time I was begging my dad to take my for a bike ride when I was 4 (in the kiddy seat on the back of his 10 spd) and he finally said OK and told me to go get his shoes from his closet. I ran in to get the shoes and when I opened the closet door, there was my very first bike! :D It was pink and white. I learned to ride it that evening with out training wheels, and it was great. I've loved riding ever since.
Most fun ever had on a bike? I love the days you get back from a ride totally refreshed b/c you've had to enjoy the ride and let your mind wander. Riding with groups and/or other people is fantastic, but those solo rides are why I really love it!
Just want to throw in my 2 cents on what a great forum this is. I've learned a lot here since started lurking.
Ionic is the steel line for Dean since the Dean name only makes titanium bikes
welcome to the board Jaz: I would have to guess even if you had saved up and bought that sweet bike - you'd Still upgrade. It's just something about us that we just can't leave well enough alone! (wonder if it equates to "marking our territory" )

See, my boyfriend (who is originally from Springfield) and I argue about whether that area is southern or central IL. I say anything south of I-80 is southern IL, he says it's central. Like you have to go to Carbondale to be in "southern" IL. Whatever :D Heck, Rockford is "down state" to many from Chicago. My friend who lives in springfield grew up up here so she's REAL excited to be down there. Not. Not that there's anything wrong with down there, but it's just slightly different than the big city. I know I wouldn't be able to adjust. But some really do like it. And good on them :)
What brings you to Urbana? School?
My dad retired from the Air Force here when I was just finishing high-school...arrrrgh. I've left a couple of times to Chicago, Florida, and New Mexico but my SO is loathe to leave the Midwest, we're currently negotiating this impasse. ;)Quote:

Awwwww Queen, now that's love. Left Italy for your SO? So where's on the short list of places to immigrate to?
Nah, left Italy kicking and screaming because my dad got transferred. :mad:Quote:
