I am slightly sub-Athena at the moment. That'll change after the party.:D:D

Very well then. I'll figure out a way to throw the stands and an assortment of tools on the Xtracycle with two kids.
My sister and I are almost definitely coming. She needs the fitting, I'm coming for the party and a ride. Knot, could you PM me directions so we know where to look for a hotel. We'll leave Spokane bright and early Saturday morning so should be there just in time for lunch. :D bikerHen
I've been watching this thread off and on hoping that I don't have to work so we can come up for the day. At this point, I'm off during the day but I'm oncall that night starting at 11pm so no overnight stays this time. Knot, I'll be pm'ing you for directions and will let you know (probably last minute) if we are coming. I have a trainer too if we need another one. Let me know what else we can bring to help out. :)
Welcome to Portland GLC!! Sorry we haven't gotten to meet you yet even though we aren't that far away in Beaverton. Work and college schedules have been out of control lately. Hope to see you there.
About Wahine's eating habits... all I'm gonna say is, I have no idea where she puts it all. ;) :p
Hope to see y'all there.
Glad to hear that you're joining us X and Kit - cool!
And I agree with you re: Yoda...although, remembering that pic of our bad azz Yoda, I think she stashes the grub in her guns!
At this rate, Knot, shall we see if the community center is available?:D
Ah... so glad I will fit in with this group! Looking forward to the food, and the outing! Oh yeah... the fitting!Quote:

Sounds like we have enough trainers -- but in case, I have one.
Do we need to come in shifts?!?!
It'll be cool with the trainers already coming, but if you love and trust your trainer bring it. (or at least bring your trainer skewer if your bike has a funky one)
We'll probably play fitting games one bike at a time so everyone can see what we're looking at. With another stand we can have folks warm up in peace before we walk over and start eyeballing 'em.
TrickyTiger will lead the ride to the beach.
Anybody do yoga and would like to be the yoga guru? I have 2 sheets of yoga poses that are s'posed to be good for cyclists. (I'll make copies for everyone)
My schedule just got kind of up-ended. Looks like Chris will be working in Florida for most of the next 4-6 weeks (bad). He got home late Friday and has to turn right back around and go back tomorrow. I am going to join him there on Saturday and will be there from Saturday the 29th through Sunday April 6. That means I will miss BOTH the bike fit party AND the Seattle tri meeting. Agghh. And I have so many tri questions...clothes, shoes. I have some cool tri books too.
I am really, really sorry I will miss this. Please note---someone should try to bring Gorgonzola-stuffed olives for Knot and X....
Wahine, I'm voting--in ink--for the tri Gorge weekend to be July 19-ish. That doesn't rule out other weekend possibilities--I just mean I can commit to that.
Bleah.
Awwwwww Salsa!! We'll miss you, but go hang out with Chris. It'll be good.
I promise I will practice my open water swimming skills. :D:D:D
PS But seriously. Will miss seeing you guys.
Hey, Knot - can you scan those and email or PM them to me? I really want to see them!! I wish it were in the cards for me to go down for this - and I'd gladly volunteer for the yoga sessions if I were, and saw them in advance. :D
Still somewhat envious of this great weekend you have planned....
Hugs and butterflies,
~T~
Oh not for me... EWWWWW, olives. Blech. http://i.pbase.com/u38/investorguy/u...91896.puke.gif
Sorry you won't be there Salsa. You shall be missed. Actually, I may be missed as I'm still not sure if they are going to make me work yet. http://thump01.pbase.com/u38/investo...91867.bash.gif
So what part of Florida? I love it there. I grew up in St. Petersburg, just south of Tampa.
Ooooo, I forgot that we might do yoga!! I can probably lead the poses unless someone else wants to.:D Oh wait, I'm fitting bikes. I could lead poses if we do them before or after bikes.:D
I don't know diddly about yoga.
I'll supply the photocopies! :p
You guys are so funny.
Long ago on OTA we had a food discussion and I could swear, X, that you wanted olives stuffed with gorgonzola. So, got that one wrong...
Going to West Palm Beach. I've been there once before when he was working down there, and it's pretty nice. I could never manage this if it wasn't falling right on my spring break week, and I probably would not be doing it if he wasn't going to be gone for so LONG. Better than his old tugboating trips, I s'pose--six months in Alaska, those.
At the next party, we'll have a "bendy kids" session.
I/we are also going to have to bow out of this one. We picked up a fairly important contract at work which means one of us has to go with the plane and bring it back, etc. It's going to be ongoing and while I escaped the 20 hour shift on thursday, it means I AM working on saturday for 14-16 hours.
%^*#.
No bendy anything here but I'm always game to try. Next time?!
Can we get a head count of who is coming at this point?
I'm still "on" for Saturday, Knott.
Can I come, even if I can't ride? Back wheel on the bike is not so happy, so must get that taken care of soon. Also, I can't fit a helmet on over my hair...
I think the root of its issue is that I'm asking it to support more weight than it wants...I'd probably be pretty unhappy if someone made me carry me around on my back all day, too. Heh.
There's at least one loose spoke, and it's way out of true.
My bike, on the whole, seems unhappy. I noticed on the trainer a little while back that the shifting is all out of whack as well. (I should really find a bike shop that doesn't include carrying my bike up three flights of stairs, which is something my knee just doesn't seem to be down with. Or, um, maybe I should learn how to do some of these things for myself.)
I'm still planning on attending. :)
Unfortunately, we are having some potential scheduling issues - Saturday is the last day of the month on which we can get Oregon plates on our cars...and our NC ones expire at the end of March. If there is a way that DH can do this for me on Saturday, I'll still be able to come. Stay tuned!
I still plan to come. What kind of work can I do for beer?! ;)
Jes
and you'll soon learn, jesvetmed, that boy in a kilt could be aka mr. sgtiger, so she's got the inside influence, doncha know!
Hey, we'll get to meet DS and DD too, right? (loved the previous descriptions, btw...and I've got an older DS version of the Star Wars expert!)
I do share beer. You just have to be quicker than I am.
Now my new bottle of 15 year old Glenlivet, that's another issue entirely.
Tentative head count, Knott you'll need beer & gorgonzola stuffed olives for:
Dex - who can't fit her helmet over her hair
Wahine
Mimitaby
Bikerhen + sibling
MM_QFC
Tricytiger
GLC1968
jestvedmed
Boy_in_a_kilt + kids
Sgtiger
Kit n X'rayted
my apologies if I've left anyone off who will be there or listed anyone who's not gonna be there. Just trying to get an idea on olives. ;)
Wish I could be there, sounds like a good time to be had by all.
YES, I'm still coming!
Looks like we are definitely in too. I'll likely get "deathly sick" if they try to make me work. ;)
Give me some ideas for food please. I'm not sure what y'all can have. Maybe a nice, easy linguini salad? Am I bringing a trainer or not? I'll dig out some skewers if needed too. I have a couple of spares somewhere.
Knot - don't forget to send me an addy please. thanks. (is REI near you? they have a bike rack for the car that I want to check out on the way there.)
See y'all Sat.
