I just checked. The big sign stuck on my forehead saying "LRRH Expert" has been removed.:D
Hehehe....I just checked and the sticker on my head still says green grass newbie. I can't read yet, so I still will be thinking of you, SadieKate, as an expert. One time there means expert, in my book!!!
I want to win a bike. Don't even think about winning it! Course, I never win anything. :(
I have new tubes, so watch out!
Totally changing the subject but the man at my LBS is late 50's and rides 300 miles per week WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey! I've been twice! So I know a whole lotta nuthin'.
Bubba just received his Madison High reunion invitation (Rexburg). He's even on the cover with the other Whydaho science club hotties (of 40 years ago).:p
My husband would like to know if there are any other men going to Little Red Riding Hood with their wives who would like to get away and fish with him for the morning while we ride.
He laughed and said "no thanks" when I offered him as a volunteer for ride stations. He even declined after I mentioned that there would be 1000+ women there in spandex. He really likes to fish! He also really knows where his eyes belong!!
PM us if you are interested. He is a great guy, 37 years old, pharmacist, fly fisher.
Thanks - Mrs. Flybye
SadieKate - Is this a 40 year reunion for Bubba, or just a Science gig? Science Hotties!!! Did you mention that he is from Ashton? Our family has a cabin in Island Park, just up the hill from Ashton. Does Bubba fish? Hint, hint :D Chris (my hottie) will get a day license for Utah to fish.
Flybye- I'll mention your hubby wanting a fishing partner to Mr. Tater. He's not yet sure what he is doing while we are riding.
I'm dropping off my daughter (20) for the LRRH, then I'm riding to Bear Lake via Logan Canyon to visit a friend for an hour or so, then riding back that afternoon. It's ~80mi R/T with a beautiful climb. I'm old (50) and a bit slow perhaps (it's all relative, right?), but I usually don't stop (at all) on rides shorter than ~100 or so. I almost always ride alone, but I'm a bit nervous about local hostility to cyclists in view of the accident in Sardine Canyon earlier this month. Anybody looking for a nice ride while the ladies do their thing? I'm new to this group, so my sincere apologies if this is supposed to be a women's only forum. I think I signed up in such a way that users can reply to me through the forum. Thank You.
A little late to the flurry because I've been on the WHITE RIM! :D (report later)
I'm not riding this evening because I need a little break, but am planning on stopping by packet pickup at around 5:30 with my card and SadieKate's card in hand. Short, blonde, sassy, probably wearing light tan shorts and a blue or purple tee shirt.
The two ladies I was going to ride with have just cancelled. If I do the ride, I will be there Saturday morning. Is anyone else doing the 38 miles?
Jen L
This will be my first time riding the LRRH.
I was planning on doing the 62, but I've ben riding so well lately that I'm going to consider the 100. I may decide it when I get to the split off for the 100.
The gals I'll be with are planning on getting on the road early.
I'd love to meet some TE ladies.
I'll be on a black Surly Pacer with a rear rack and black trunk bag. Not sure what I'll wear yet.
For those of you trying to decide metric or 100, remember that the 100 milers have a 20 mile loop up into Idaho from the lunch stop. They go through Lewiston, UT (the lunch stop) twice, so it is very easy to do an 80 mile loop. If you decide 62 is too little, 100 is too big, 80 may be ju-ust right. Oh wait, wrong fairy tale.:p
Hi Alex. I don't want you to feel ignored and since no one has answered your post, I, the one who has never been to Little Red, will answer your question:eek:
My response:
I have no idea :D
Are you coming? Or is it going? If so, what ride are you doing? Or is it riding? Sheesh, sorry, too much caffeine.
Ask me anything, anytime!!
To answer someones question, I don't know how many people start early. I didn't last year and ended up in the mass of 1000+ riders who don't really know the rules of the road. So I want to avoid that this year. Well that and I need all the time I can use to get through the ride.
Sheesh - just saw this one - wo0oppers!
Please change or update this....

I am packed and ready to drive, not sure about riding a hundred miles though. Ahyhoo, my plan is to spend Thursday night in St George, Utah and Friday and Saturday night at the Crystal Inn in Logan, Utah.
I will be in Wellsville on Friday but what time is completely unknown to me but, I will be wearing tan Bermuda shorts, blue Keens and a bright pink T-shirt. I am 42, brown hair, brown eyes and 25 lbs over weight(but I would like to loose 40lbs). Also I will put a thin light blue ribbon on my wrist. Hope to see some of you there.
Do any of you SLC women have any advice about what time I don't want to be on the I15 in SLC. If I plan on passing that area around 3pm on Friday will I avoid the rush hour traffic? Is there rush hour traffic? Thanks.
Sulis- I will pm you about starting early.
Jones
Jones,
3pm shouldn't be too bad, I hope. The rush hour traffic that would affect us will be N of SLC, if there is any. That is about when I and the Mistress of Pain (my spin instructor) will be passing through SLC. We, too, are staying at the Crystal Inn. I will be wearing a light blue bead bracelet.
Hey SK, we need some AV t-shirts or something so we can find each other at pre-ride events. :D Like you need another clothing project :p
I am going to have to put on my eagle eyes to look at everyone's wrists. . .
I ride a charcoal Felt with a bumblebee saddle bag. Now I expect all of you to remember that :)
Ack!!!!!
Psst - I promise it will happen this time - YES, an AV jersey order.
You'll have to talk amongst yourselves until I get back from Utah. Drop dead order day is July 18 for a shipment the week of Sept 10. Velobambina has graciously agreed to take and reship this order.
Prices have gone up a couple dollars a jersey plus we don't get the 10% discount we got on the original order (which was because we took delivery after Oct 1). If no one cares, I can push the order back until Oct 1 to get the 10% but I'm guessing you want to do it earlier?
OK, I'll stop the thread hijack now. Maybe someone can resurrect the old threads so everyone will know what items are available.
Flybye,
I am signed up to do the 100 mile route. I'm coming up with a friend on Friday night after work and we're staying at the Motel 6, which used to be some other hotel. We plan to start early. I will be on a black Felt F3C with DH's Rolf Vigor wheels. My friend will be on a black and pink Ruby. On Saturday, I'll probably be wearing my long sleeve Boure Team jersey and Shebeest shorts, but I might go with my pink s/s Ride Like a Girl jersey from Terry. :D
I picked up my packet tonight. The jerseys are very cool! I like the t-shirt, too.
Alex
Flybye, I was wearing the tan shorts and blue T shirt at packet pickup today. I plan on wearing bike shorts and my AV jersey on ride day. :p I'll be hanging out with my buddy SadieKate. I'm sure you'll see us...you can't miss that jersey!
I'm doing the 100 mile. Gotta go to Whydaho.
Ok I am completely offended - SBCTwin was the only one that said hi to me tonight at the packet pickup. Alex, yellow? No hello - I feel slighted. Ok, just kidding. I was crazy busy. But how smooth and easy was that packet pickup- right?
I looooove my jersey. I was feeling guilty about spending the money to get the LRRH jersey but am so in love with it.
Just a few stats I found out last night - there were over 1500 women pre-registered. So with late registration and day ofs they expect to easily soar past the 2,000 rider mark
The Orbea and Specialized being given away are gorgeous. I desperately need a new bike (my frame is too big for me) so if you ladies with your lovely bikes will all take pity allow me just to win either/or, I would thank you. ha ha ha :D
Alright, all you travelers. Drive safely and look forward to seeing you.
Oh and not to put a damper on the blue wrist band thingy - but the Huntsman Cancer Institute has given the blue rubbery wrist bands in the packets...so you may see lots of people wearing a blue rubber wrist band who have never heard of our glorious TE.
Weather forecast for Wellsville on Saturday: sunny, low 50, high 82...sounds perfect!
I will be in my AV jersey and hopefully out on the road early. Remember the bumblebee saddle bag! ;)
Have a great time, everyone !
Sorry I can't be there, but with all the travelling I did in the last week or so, taking off again this weekend was just a bit much.
Hope y'all have photos to share. :)
Okay we have to come up with something else. No blue bracelets- I think that there is a mole from the Huntsmans Institiute on this thread
How about red? Can we make red work in a pinch?
That's the plan! Red bracelet.
I will also grab some poster board and write team estrogen on it and hang out like a chauffeur at the airport if I get the time.
Jobob- we will miss you- enjoy a little r&r.
What the heck is an AV jersey???????
Alex - welcome. There are several doing 100 miles.
Lot's to do today!!!!!
i'm riding, probably metric. my husbands serving lunch. i too, worked the early pick-up(handing out tee shirts). we are heading up from slc friday afternoon.
Okiedokie - let's hope in my scatterbrained condition, I got all of the updates right. If I didn't, just copy the list, open a reply to the post, copy the list, and make the changes on the list and submit post.
I won't be able to make changes myself b/c I have lots to do to get ready to go. :D :D :D :D :D
We are wearing red on our wrists- bracelet, ponytail holder, ribbon, whatever works in a pinch.
I will have a BRIGHT ORANGE poster board sign somewhere with Team Estrogen written on it. Might tape it to a tree or something. I will bring it on Friday for the party and on Saturday as well.
We (or should I say I :p ) don't have to be present to win the bike. There are tickets in our registration packets and we can buy more tickets at the event.
I will see you there! I am so excited and chicken at the same time:D :o

Is anyone camping? I decided to come up for the bash and sleep in my suv that night. I found a spot, but it would be nice to be near some fellow TE'ers. This is a new thing for me, I love to camp, but never slept in my car. :o
Jen
I guess I missed that you would be working it. I just got my packets and ran off. Had the dogs in the car and needed to go pick up the rest of my gear from the White Rim trip at my friend's house. Yes, it was nice to be able to get everything yesterday and not deal with the madness Sat am.
Jen, I'm pretty sure CyclaSutra will be camping. She is a ton of fun to hang out with. Send her a PM!
Is anyone coming back to SLC to hang out after the ride? Or are you all going home? I'm thinking a trip to Red Rock or Squatters or something might be in order if anyone will be around!
Sorry, Sulis. I didn't know you were working at check-in, or I would certainly have said hello. I was there about 8:30 and no one was in line! I zipped in and zipped out.
Alex
Have a great ride everyone. Im so disappointed that I had to cancel.:( Enjoy a drink or two for me and photos please.
I am sitting in the lobby of the Crystal Inn so I will make this brief. Went to packet pick up today in Wellsville, haven't been on the computer since Thursday so just found out when I got to Wellsville about the bracelet thing. Didn't see anyone even vaguely familier.
Sulis- I will try to find you in the AM. The most outlying tent seemed to be the LRRH boutique so I will look there. There is no need to reply to this message as I won't be able to check again until after the ride.
Hope to see many of you there.
Jones
PS sorry no spell check:)
