Here she is:

If you get a picture of George riding your bike, I can help you post it!:p
... and I'm jealous. I did find out from our esteemed administrator :) that, at this time, you can only upload images from a website.
So, why am I jealous? Because Ms Adventure Girl is obviously such a techie that she has a website. And that's why I'm jealous.
paint me green with envy...

If you e mail me the picture we can put it on our website for a while.
v@tandemhearts.com
is my address.
Veronica
they're on the way! thanks.
 this is me, going to the bookcase for my copy of "Designing Websites for Dummies"
OF COURSE I name my bicycles. Doesn't everyone?
All my bikes are/have been/will be blue and have names that begin with W. Yes, this makes my life difficult, but ask me if I care.
My current ride is Walter, a vintage Raleigh. (Yes, I do mean the historical referance) He's hard on the hands, though, and I'm having a hard time with rides over about 10 miles.
I'm getting my next bike out of layaway ater this month. He's William, and a 'bent. (There's an historical reference here, too, but it's pretty obscure)
William of Orange?
I am now able to present Epesi, my new ride:

And for my next trick, follow me to Saddles for a look at my butt saving Koobi :D
spazzdog
Sweeeeet !
You need "Cipo-esque" sunglasses to go with the look
I rarely use the word awesome, but I can't think of any other word to describe your new bike, s-dog. I wish you many years and many miles of joy.
How 'bout that Cipo zebra-white-aero-body suit...Nice ride Spazz,
enjoy Epesi in good health!!
:D karen
ps-where in Massachusetts are you?? After my kids go back to school we can hook up for a ride. I will bring Lizzy to meet Epesi
I figure that jersey would make people seasick... all those stripes fading in and out like one of those psychedelic mood wheels.
I do, however, have faux cow print seatcovers in my JEEP :D
But Epesi, she do ride quite nice. Like going from a nice reliable sedan (my old Trek1000) to a Porsch Boxter... yee-hah!!
Adventure Girl: "Dita... You kill me!!:D :D :D :D :D If you get a picture of George riding your bike, I can help you post it!:p"
Oh Yeah, George and those long legs of his on a 47 cm. Would look like a circus act. Will he be in SF? Maybe we can get him to pose there ;-)
spazzdog "Through the fine generousity of Veronica, I am now able to present Epesi, my new ride"
sweeeeeet! Is that a double? is she ultegra? and...is that little dog in the corner the one who chases down tires? didn't think so ;-)
It's all Ultegra all the way! It's a double.
She's wearing a Koobi Splitfit saddle and Speedplay X2 pedals and accessorized with a XLab Saddle Wing bottle cage system.
How do you like the doggie kong as a wheel block.:D
And yes it's a little dog... Willie, the 11 yr old blind but feisty Tshi Tzu ( I can't spell it right... I usually go phonetics but I was worried about the censor). He'd probably chase 'em if he could see 'em.

no need for the granny here, eh? show off!

> maybe your other dog could herd him into them? Just kidding, really! Just thinking the TE Zebra stripe jerseys/shorts combo would look awesome with this bike..g'night
Veronica,
No, not William of Orange, nor William the Conquerer, either. That's English history. Perfect for Walter (he's a Raleigh, doncha know), but not right for an American-designed bike.
I actually had William Bent of Bent's Fort in Colorado fame in mind. Bent's Fort was THE stopping/resupply/trade place for most of the mountain men, explorers, settlers, and wanderers in the late 1800's. William was the more obscure of the two brothers (Charles & William) that ran that sucessful business enterprise. If you ever are near La Junta, CO, check it out. The fort is in great shape, and roads nearby are pretty good for cycling.
Oh dear, a history lesson. I did warn you that William's namesake is a tad obscure.
It's always good to learn something new. :)

Sweet ride! I love the zebra-ness. I'll have to try the kong thing, but Riley's might be a tad too big.
Maine-iac wrote" Sweet ride! I love the zebra-ness. "
can't you just see that bike with this jersey?
http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=10275
Or is that overdoing the "zebra-ness"?
Trek420 dahling... that's a tiger jersey.
A tiger riding the back of a zebra would look like the beginnings of a National Geographic killing scene. I can hear the announcer now:
"watch this now jack... the tiger has made her leap on to the back of this zebra, caught off the back of the herd. It's hard to watch, but that zebra's DINNER!!"
:D
I've been trying to think of names for my bikes but I don't find it easy. I was thinking of Jeeves for my new road bike. Why? because it's a Claude Butler. (open to suggestions)

I haven't got one for my Mtb it's a black Carrera Kraken SE.
I love it. Wish I could find a picture of it somewhere so you could see it.;)

doh! and they say I can't accessorize
Wow gorgeous Zebra-bike! That looks like a really smooth ride - congrats!
Thank you... she's a good pony.
Hopefully this "kidney issue" (is it a stone or not?) will clear up soon so I can actually ride her again... haven't been in the saddle in 2 weeks. Kidney hurts too much... maybe this weekend I'll get a little pedaling in.
Hey - no chips, no dip, no ice cubes. Oh well serves me right
My first road bike was a 1983 powder blue Panasonic (! - yeah, they got into everything at one time or 'nother) who got named "Pani." I still have him, but he lives at my sister's place, so I have a ride there, and also 'cus I live in Manhattan and have no space and for the longest time was too afraid to ride it here.
When I realized my going insane in the city was partly due to the lack of biking I got another, more correctly sized bike, (in 1983 Pani was the smallest bike I could find - 17.5, meant to be for adolescent boys! The top tube is bent down about 7 inches before going across to meet the seat post), and he is a blace, silver and red-detailed Iron Horse MTB, I call "Truck" cus he's kinda heavy and I'm heavy (thou getting lighter) and he trucks me around.
I have my eye on a Specialized Dolce for next year - a li'l sister to Spazzdog's Epesi - and I'm still working on possible names for her....
Back when I was a mere teen and started racing (the first time) in 1974 my bike of the moment was a Huffy 10 speed. Heavy! The nice bike shop man that took me under his wing for some training 'sold' me (He basically gave it to me for a very low price) a beautiful champagne colored Puch Bergmeister. God, how I wish I still had that bike, it's a classic.
Anyway fast forard to 1989 and I receive a b'day gift of a Trek1000. I rode recreationally off and on, but mostly ran. In '98 I had banged my achilles in complete submission by running the NYC marathon and hopped back on the old Trek for recovery... ended up riding it for the 2000 Boston-NewYork Aidsride.
Fast forward again through the 'didn't do nuthin physical' period to now. Decided I need to ride again, want to race again. Trek1000 was beyond saving so I had the de-lemon of buying a comparable bike to 'start out' on or go for the almost dream bike. I went for it, BUT I needed to exercise a little financial responsibility. So I bought new last years model... a 2003 Specialized Allez Comp. It's got all the goodies that I wanted plus a snappy paintjob but since it was last years I got about $300 off the purchase price.
It is more than my current skill requires but, assuming I don't crash it out, it will service my needs through my re-start of racing and onward for a few years.
P.S. my dream bike was the Klein Quantum Pro... don't know why, I just loved it.
Just for you Spazzdog.

I was surfing the Specialized site, thinking about a new mountain bike and stumbled across this.

Veronica, you are a crazy grrl!
Close your eyes and visualize this... a tall skinny grrl with short white hair on a zebra bike wearing that outfit.... riding in front of you for mile after mile after mile.
OK.... are you sick yet? :D
Plus I live far to close to New Hampshire where they love to hunt. Some idiot with an Uzi might mistake me for big game.
spazzdog sez: "visualize this... a tall skinny grrl with short white hair on a zebra bike wearing that outfit.... "
Ooh, ooh, you *have* to die the hair with zebra stipes to match the bike and jersey! what a statement!
"Plus I live far to close to New Hampshire where they love to hunt. Some idiot with an Uzi might mistake me for big game."
this is the off-season outfit?
Okay-
you've got the bike...you've got the skinsuit- or jersey-
now here's the helmet-
to keep you safe. granted, it'll cover up that wicked white and black hair...

And now entering the stadium the optical illusion known as Spazzdog..... ta da!
You gals are too much :p
I'll supply the 3-d glasses!
... to my very own website. It's not done quite let, so excuse the blank spots and graphics that aren't quite there... I'm still working on it. The site is: http://www.spazzdog.com (yeah, I got my own domain name... couldn't resist)
To see only Epesi go to http://www.spazzdog.com/images/image311.jpg
Enjoy... it's kind a goofy. Be forwarned. It's my first "website design experience".
spazzdog
nice work! thus inspired I added a links page to my homepage and you are there, your 15 minutes of cyber fame begins ;-)
I've already got "Tandemhearts" site linked to mine (on the cindy page, gals) and will put Irulan's there too if that's ok. good job!
I look forward to seeing updates. Mine too is a work in progress, constantly tweaking it, no one probably looks at it, just nice to have.
TREK
Look'n snazzy....or should I say Spazzy????
Spazz-nice site.
Maine- love the new signature.
It took a while, and I knew I would just have to wait for their names to come to me.
To refresh (it's been a while since I posted here) I have two Cannondale R1000's. Both are black with hot-pink flames. Both are gorgeous. Both are very skinny-tired road bikes! One lives in Miami and one with me here in Atlanta.
So, my beautiful identical twins are MaryKate and Ashley. MaryKate in Miami, Ashley in Atlanta! It makes it so much easier when my BF and I are talking about them to be able to distiguish between the two with a single name.
Yup - I've buying up every black and pink-flamed items I can get my hands on!
