Tiaras are optional, but are always appreciated. Scepters are somewhat frowned upon for safety concerns, particularly if they were originally cattle prods.

Can I use a javelin so long as I wear a tiara? It would only be aimed at car tires (and the 3-abreast tea parties).
Many things are forgiven if you wear a parrot or a tiara. Or both.

I think getting together after the ride for a recovery beverage is a super idea. There's always a tasty assortment of food-like items in the main building after the ride, and, like snap said, the bar on the other end of the building has been open in the past (we, um, know this from personal experience :o ). If I recall correctly they had soft drinks, as well as a good selection of beer.

Truthfully though, for anyone who hasn't ridden this ride before, this ride probably has the highest percentage of inexperienced group cyclists of all I have ridden. Combine the high volume of riders with the traffic density -- please be very careful!
