Are those soft star shoes? If so, do you like them??

Here's my office, complete with the very nice view. We are moving to the new and improved building in 2 weeks - where I will have 1/4 of a glassed in office with a view of the wall of the other side of the building. WooHoo- progress!
Not looking forward to it. Except, bike parking is improved and it's 1 mile closer to home. Bad news is, I'll have to ride in 100% on roads and no longer have the beautiful bike trail along the river (which this current office overlooks).
(and yes, I have a soda addiction, I'm working on it - only allowed 2 that size/week and 1 12 oz the other days)
those are soft star shoes. I wear them almost exclusively (won't wear them for messy yard work or bicycling). My daughter in law has a pair and now my son who hates shoes has a pair too.
I love them. They are fun, they are comfy.
They are MADE IN OREGON and cost less than 100 bucks and you can pick your own colors.
Thanks, Mimi! I've looked at the company and really liked what I saw. Perhaps time to get off my butt and order. LOVE that they're made in the US:)
This is my office ...and no....no windows :( ...been dreaming about that for a little over 8 years :'('''
Well I get my assignments and report my work at home. Laptop is at the moment on the table. (Not sure if that will be the permanent home or not). Fax machine is in the guest bedroom, and yes I actually do have to fax some paper work. All my work is actually done in stores anything from retail stores, to grocery store, to drug stores, to gas stations.
I work at a company with an open floor plan. No cubes. No offices. But lots of dogs and a full bar.
Below: 1) the bar, 2) the corner of one of my screens and the window I face from my desk, 3) the reflection of the Space Needle in another of my screens from the window behind my desk, 4) the kind of stuff you're likely to find on my desk.
My paper pushing position.
The binocs are right under the sill and the bird feeder is about 15 ft outside the window.
UV - your office looks entirely too neat and tidy.
I have it really good. I work in my friend's home (so no pics). Our studio is in her sun room, overlooking preservation land. I see deer and turkeys almost every day, and have seen a coyote, fox and owls too. It's very entertaining, and a really beautiful space inside, too.
I actually miss my cubicle. I had a window and could watch the helicopters land at the hospital. Now I'm in an inner office with no windows and an over active air conditioner. the little street sign above my computer says "Goa Way"

Weird bathroom habits abound where I work. There is someone that takes the paper seat liner, balls it up, and stuffs it behind the pipes of the toilet. WTF? I keep thinking of taking a picture and posting it on the bathroom door, with a "Really?"
Pretty plain and boring. I do have a little meeting table for group huddles and chats.
My job is very much electronic....which is total contrast to first 10 years of my career as a librarian where I had space for whole collections plus electronic research databases.
My first real librarian job was in a library that backed near a wooded ravine. (it was a medical library).
Another library, our study reading areas overlooked Vancouver's ocean harbour with mountains and seaplanes that took off /landing.
Still another different library my office overlooked into a 19th century bricked courtyard. It was in a historic courthouse that was the seat of law in Ontario in 1800's. So stained glass windows in eating area, etc. So I had elegant leather chairs with pseudo curved arm rests, etc. But TOTALLY impractical for computer work.
I rarely have brought along much of any personal posessions for the offices I've worked in. Just lazy I guess. I dunno. My present job is not in a library at all. Oh yes, boss insisted on 2 screens to look at document simultaneously. Laptop is my keyboard.....I have not taken my work laptop home yet.
Actually not having windows is not a huge deal for me. I found myself not really paying attention to the weather even when I did have an office that had a window. What matters to me, are cooperative employees around me and some quiet...which unfortunately my boss has a voice/personality that you can hear. We are in open office concept.
Annoys us all on the floor where other floors have offices with walls, nicer carpeting, etc. Our division was created as a merger of 2 and with that, a whole floor reno, that was cheaper and squashing people closer together.
I don't have many personal possessions in my office either, and it's not really "decorated.". I have a bunch of photos of my cats. They cheer me up.
Gosh - I feel very fortunate to have a pretty nice office, 2 windows, and the view is not bad. I'll have to bring my camera to work on Monday and take a pic. There are only 6 of us in-house, and 4 of them are probably out more than they are in, so it's usually very quiet.
The kitchen is always a mess though, and while I can't be 100% sure, I never hear any water running after some people use the bathroom. I know, WAY too much information. Funny how they are the ones that seem to get the most colds.
I reported to a very dynamic senior manager who had great ideas and was good in steering lots of people towards working those ideas become true.
He had a hole in the wall, with a desk area that looked even plainer than mine.
I think his world was in his head, his visions in himself, the inspiration drawn from within this dreams and he never cared much for his own "look" of his corner. He was too busy running around elsewhere...
