I joined TE shortly after I started back in to road riding and I was severely "hill challenged" at the time. I loved the TE Hill Slug jersey and I live in Maryland.

On more than one occasion the word "Kubla" mysteriously appeared when I was trying to type my name.
I finally realized that I had my right hand over to the left by one key... (Not sure how the "L" got in there, though.) :o
I have a couple of sweet, silly malamutes, aka "mals", as seen in my avatar pic. I am completely, hopelessly addicted to them and I suffer from withdrawals if I'm away from them for very long. So, "malaholic" seemed like a good word to describe me.
The story of no 'e' is that I've used this name since 1994 when AOL didn't allow more than 10 letters in an email address. When I give it out in person, I always have to say "no 'e" at the end.
Tanya Tucker got a reality show some years back and it was called Tuckerville. I used to get her fan email. The word looks weird with the e on it, now.

My initials are AP and I always use them to sign off on anything. But TE requires minimum of three letters or numbers. Since I have a lot of wattage ( kinda like a poodle or a border collie), I added my middle initial.
I originally used my first name and first initial of last name together. seemed so boring but couldn't come up with anything better. I met up with this group of people on a ride (whom I had rode with off and on, here and there), I was dying on a ride, I knew the territory and was on route to take a short cut to save myself some miles. I am starting to go down this road, I thought no one was around, and I hear, "shelly is that you? You're not pulling a short cut sally are you?" So the guy procedes to call out several times, "are you really gonna pull a short cut sally?" So the whole weekend of that get together, he called me short cut sally. A few events later through out the year, he still proceded to call me that and tell others why he was calling me that. So I thought, there is a new and original name for me for this forum.
When I first signed up for an internet forum, it was The Knot back when my husband and I first got engaged. I picked the name cat+rick because it seemed suitable for a wedding planning site. A massive group of us moved to another site together after we were all married and I couldn't use the plus symbol, so I made it catplusrick. Then I had people say that my new name made them say cat-prick in their head when they saw it. I couldn't have that, so I changed it to GuinessLovinCat because I was on a big Guinness beer kick then (and everyone still knew me as Cat - which was taken). When I joined a fitness forum that was tied to the same user account, I didn't want a beer in my name, so I changed it to GirlLovesCycling since everyone was now already calling me GLC for short anyway. When I joined TE, GLC was available and I just added my birth year for a bit more length.
I still use GLC1968 as my username in lots of places because its ALWAYS available and has little to do with my real identity.
T Z V I A (tsvee-ya). My Hebrew name. May be derived from 'Tzviya' (female deer/doe/gazelle). Doesn't fit me at all. Deer are so graceful, but I'm a klutz on a bike and no one will ever accuse me of being graceful.
the state I achieve while riding
My husand and I graduated from Florida State University (Seminoles) and my two sons are now attending college at FSU. It seemed to make sense to be nolemom since most of my paycheck is going there now.
Aggie= I am proud alumni of Texas A&M and forever a Fightin' Texas Aggie.
Ama= A nickname my brother gave me when we were bowling a tournament together. Everyone had a nickname but I refused to be called Mandy. The bowling scorekeepers only held three letters and thus I became Ama (ah-mah). My family still calls me Ama 16 years later.
I'm a cartography and travel enthusiast.
My grandson named me Ama. His mother is called Mandy! (Although her real name is Miranda.)
I know I've said this before.
