DH and I are in a weight loss competition before cycling season hits full blast. When he asked what I get if I win and I say a new bike, he says "but that was your birthday present!"
...you just finished a ride and you can hardly wait until tomorrow to ride again...
...you're already looking at other bikes, because you want another one (or two) to have some "variety."

When all you've done in the morning is read news coverage of the terrible tragedy in the Giro yesterday, and are overwhelmed with sadness for the riders.
As a rider and racer, this has had a very profound impact on me.

I still tear up when I think about the death at the Giro. I don't like to think about how many times I have been lucky and sometimes not so lucky (Broken collar bone, collapsed lung, etc).Quote:
