Well, I discovered that I can't talk and ride because my breathing shallows up too much. Since Jo and I chatted going up the lower half of Diablo last week, it's all her fault that I was wheezing.

It's fine with me. I'll just push along as fast as possible. I have no idea what commuter traffic is like that time of morning in the east bay but shouldn't this get me in front of some of it?

Thom figures we'll need to leave by 6:30 because of traffic. We'll shoot for 7:30 too.

Do you think traffic will be a problem, since it's the start of a holiday weekend (for those bad people taking a 4 day weekend)? I just wanted to try to beat the heat a little, but I don't want to make the drive a big problem for everyone.
