Man, Snappy, you're smokin' us!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Corsair, surely we can catch her - you have three bikes and I'll soon have two! If I pull one behind the one I'm riding, can I log double miles? :D
P.S. Our little TE girl looks great!

Sorry Corsair, thought you needed a little competition! Starting to really find my pedals! My new Specialized practically rides itself (yeah, right, I wish!).Quote:

<<Sound of ego being crushed>> :( ... Sigh, story of my life - had my 20 nanoseconds of glory, then back to the drawing board!

Wow! You really are the Bike Goddess! I'm a doubter no more - lead us on to ever more dizzying heights, BG!!! And thanks for joining our club!
It's raining buckets here in Nebraska. We had our first tornado warning yesterday. I'm stuck inside with much work.
I CAN'T RIDE!
I refuse to look at Bike Journal.
Thank you for listening. I feel much better now. (wiping tears of frustration off keyboard...)
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, sob sob :(Quote:

I think BJ is going to be the death of me!
Corsair, I'm the youngest child, but can feel my competitive edge holding out the bike, plonking me on the saddle and pushing me off into the distance with a "go get 'em" triumphant wave!
Surely you've got the stinkiest weather of all, Snappy. Do you log any inside miles or is it outside all the way for you?Quote:

Or would that honor go to the Kiwi girls here?
Nuthatch - you've stumbled across the Brits' favourite pastime - talking 'bout the weather! Thankfully we don't get the extremes you guys seem to get - but that usually means that we have one season really - as you described: windy, rainy, cold! Here in the northeast, it's particularly unpleasant - gales and cold temperatures for large parts of the year! Beautiful countryside, but mainly because no-one wants to live here!Quote:

The average summer temperature where I live is 15 degrees C(59 degrees farenheit!). Whoopee! Time to peel the armwarmers off!
Makes us more hardy - I wear my shorts for around 9 months of the year - just to scare the locals really!
We Brits like to complain that it's too cold (if around freezing) or too hot (above 59 degrees). If it's an inch of snow it's treacherous - and our local forecaster likes to warn us about "pesky winds" (30 mph gales).
My miles are all outdoor ones, as I don't have a turbo trainer - commuting clocks around 45 miles a week, which is a boon!
You're an amazon, kid! I think your miles should count double, at least! Of course, all your summer duds will probably still be warm enough for the NZ winter... :DQuote:
