Regina I have those same wheels and they are stiff - but I am quite a bit heavier than you are. I'm not sure what kind of difference weight really makes, but I sure do like those wheels (except in a strong cross-wind!).
I'm interested to hear you thoughts on the bike after a couple of longer rides...

Oooh, it's gorgeous! Hope you enjoy it once you are used to it. It looks like a very upright position. You could always flip the stem and/or remove some spacers to lower the handlebars if it bothers you...
I assume the more upright position is supposed to help your back?

Regina, my Alaris has several spacers to give me a more upright posture. Haven't had an issues w/my bum shoulder when I ride my Seven. I'm actually thinking about setting up my other rides the same way, as I occasionally will have shoulder pain on my bad side from riding in a more aggressive position.
Well, DH and I got out after work for a 20 mile shake down ride.
Summary:
Bike is great.
Bike rider is not so great.
I'll spare you my list of woes, but suffice to say:
1. I'm really beginning to like these wheels.
2. The bike carves s-turns like it's on rails. Woo-hoo! Fun. :D
3. It is super-stable and much stiffer than the Axiom and really wants to hop out of the box.
4. I have a brand-new Fly on it, and BOY! I've really gotta break that saddle in....ouch. :eek:
Yeah...I'm looking forward to taking this bike out on a long, fast ride!
Ed. And, yes, MDHS, the bike was designed to allow me to ride, minimizing neck/shoulder/back pain from my herniated disc. I stressed to Seven...I want comfort, particularly on longer (40+ mile) rides, but I don't want to sacrifice power or speed. This is what they came up with for me.
Regina, how tall are you? The bike looks really tall... wondering if I am judging the pic correctly?

The bike has a significantly sloping top tube (I think 12 degrees), which exposes a lot of seatpost and I think helps create the appearance of a really tall bike. However, I do have pretty long legs....my 6' DH fits the bike, leg-wise (the reach, however, is another matter!).
Thanks! Yes, that's how it looks - like you have really long legs and a shortish torso. I'm the opposite. I'm 5'6" but judging by my saddle height, you'd think I was much shorter.
