If anyone else is lusting after a Waterford, Paul at Recycled Cycles in St. Louis, MO told me last week he has a 1984 Waterford (I think with Campy) coming in to the shop in a size 52 (I think). I don't remember the exact details because I need another vintage bike like I need a hole in the head.
I've still got a 1976 Bob Jackson mixte hanging in the garage I need to deal with.

I saw the most adorable cartoon yesterday! My niece and nephew have colds, so when I stopped by my sister's to pick something up, they were slumped, snuffling, on the couch. It was my niece's turn to pick the show they would watch, because she was due for her asthma breathing treatment. She picked ... WONDER PETS!
It's for "yiddo kids", as Maya says (say it out loud, and imagine you're 3, with a cold). A hampster, duckling, and tiny turtle get news that a baby animal is in danger! They get out of their containers in the playroom, put on their Wonder Pets capes, sing a song about cooperation, get in their boat-plane, and fly off to the rescue! This time it was a baby pigeon (animated), who was "stuck" on the nose of the Statue of Liberty. They rescued him, and returned him to his Papa pigeon, anxiously waiting in the nest on top of the Statue.
Adorable, and, of course, it made me think of Nanci! I reminded Maya that we had looked at pictures of Dillbird on Nanci's website. She snuffled in agreement.
Octopi _do_ change colors, for camoflage and according to mood. I've caught babies, gently, in the ocean. They're pretty cool little guys, but very shy.

Lise, awwwwww, for the "yiddo kids". I saw my neices kid (I guess great-nephew?) Saturday. The fambly got together for my Moms 85th b'day.
He's doing much better at the holding up his head thing. Very cute, got hair and everything.

SKnot was telling the LBS dudes how HE was getting a "new" bike, too. So I think he's enthusiastic. Though he's too cool to tell me that.
What is the little braze-on peg thing on the inside of the right seat stay? Kona doesn't have one.

MimiT - I haven't ridden her at all yet. Was fiddling with fit and putting on pedals, etc. after I picked her up last night. Had a migraine (oops, there goes the balance) so not riding this morning before work, either.
And tonight it'll be dark when I get home.
Friday I have to take SKnot to a weekend camp as soon as I get off work, and it'll be dark by the time I get home.

So the first time I ride might be Saturday morning. Dunno what time. Gotta go to the LBS for some help and probably eat some lunch near there. If you don't go to Leavenworth, PM me or give me a call.
Is it near the dropout? Might be a chainhanger. You can hang the chain on it when the wheel is off. Truthfully, I don't know why you would want to and I don't use mine. Is there someone here who can sing the praises of chainhangers?Quote:

Then the chainhanger would keep the chain under tension so it doesn't sag and get the car greasy. Otherwise using it would increase mess since you have to handle the chain to get it on and off the chainhanger.

as usual i'm a day late and a dollar short, but you all will find this funny. we went on another eider banding trip yesterday, but failed miserably. the great part is, i had everyone and i mean everyone, all 15 people, talking like pirates. then we kept doing the captain morgan one leg up on nothing in random places. i tell you its not easy in mud up to your knees with eel grass.
