I finally received the official call! Yippee! Yay! Wahoo! Even though I knew it was happening, it's nice to have it in writing!
I'm outta this place on Oct 12th!
Here's an add Fishfry thing... we were asking the kids last night what they wanted to be for Halloween. FishJr named one of a dozen disney princesses. No surprise there. FishFry.. you'll love this... said he wants to be an octopus. Yes, an octopus. And he was quite adamante (sp?) about it. We tried suggesting all sorts of other things he likes. Nope - an octopus. Now how am I going to find time to make an octopus costume. It's not like they're going to sell it at Target!
Oooooh - I'm going to get to shop at Target and not Wallyworld! Wow!
hard to describe but I saw a wonderful octopus costume once, picture this.
6 fake arms were sewn out of long shirt sleeves stuffed with whatever kind of stuffing. Each one had a glove on the end like hands (not entirely accurate but cute). I forget how they did the "suckers" on the arm.
Each arm is attached to the side of an actual shirt.
then each arm has a string that attaches to the real kid arm so ....when said kid raises or moves his hands...all 8 arms (2 real ones, 6 stuffed ones) moved.
Like a whole-body puppet! :D I bet my sis or neice could sew this with ease, I sure couldn't but it was fantastic.
How about several pairs of panty hose or tights, with the legs stuffed, with his head in the middle??
Mimi and Trek - 8 working arms that sounds great! Complicated, but great!
BikerZ - I still haven't decided on a new name yet. You'd think I would've come up with something by now. Hmmmm... will have to keep thinking. On a completely different note - I can still taste that crab and cellophane noodle dish we had at the Slanted Door. Geez that was good! I'm going to have to find a vietnamese place in BR.
Color of octopus - not pink!
Why don't you get a live octopus and....no, no - I'm starting to see the flaws in this approach already :D
Bruno, you are one very sick cow (or sheep or goat)
