I don't have to my sling! But I had to drive in today.

Yea CC!!! :D:cool::D:cool:
Thank you :D
I wasn't expecting a letter until January . I spoke to the admissions person at Curtin & they send out early acceptance letters if you've met all the criteria..
I'm glad I work for the company I do. Many planning contacts :D
CC-congrats to you. May you have a great semester with work and school combined. Off for a new adventure.
Red Rock
Great news CC - well done.:D
And congrats to all of us. Soon we can expect some cycle-friendly urban plans :D
Good morning all! We finally have some sunshine, and my honey is getting better each day, what a great day!
Hope everyone else is having a great day too.
Yeah, well it's early yet...and I'm going to see a lawyer
Good news on your honey's recovery. :p
My day started out great too-
I awoke to DH leaning over the bed and saying "Let's go for a nice brisk walk!"
Now... he NEVER wants to go for a walk- always prefers to bike. So this was mighty unusual!
It was only 28F degrees though, so we bundled up pretty well and went for a GORGEOUS 4 1/2 mile sunny cold walk to start the day with. It was delightful and so invigorating, and we dressed just right (i love when that happens).
I woke up in my recliner bed with both arms hurting. Crud. It feels like one step forward, two steps back. Maybe I've been overdoing it. I dunno.
So this is where everyone is!
Good news is I had a new PR on my 1/2 Marathon this weekend (posted in Running discussion):)
Bad news..back at work. I would rather run a 1/2 marathon or a full marathon every day than work!
Oh, but more good news: 4 day work week this week, 3 day work week next week, then another short week and I am off to Vegas.
Yes, I can DO THIS!
Oh, yeah...back to work....big sigh!:(
yes a lot of us are at work. But that's better than unemployment.
I don't think i'm going to be doing any bike commuting this week. Rain, fog and darkness in the morning. NAH. Meanwhile the intrepid Raleighdon just called me, halfway through his legends, superstitions and ruins bike ride in Arizona.
4 hours into a 200k bike ride. He's having a good time riding in the wild desert in the sun
yes, now is not the time for me to jump ship for another job/career.
another big sigh....
yep, rather be biking...200k, huh? Fabulous!
Tell him to not get lost in the desert!

he just called, he's got 10 miles to go, he's no longer in the wild desert. I think he's going to make it.
and he says it's not dark yet?! It's almost dark here and it's an hour earlier.
Kgirl he finished in about 10 hours. He managed not to get too dehydrated, but he fought horrible headwinds (Ya think?) and at the end of the ride he left his brevet card and 10 dollars on a bench. of course someone took them. So he can't get "credit" for the ride with the Randonneurs.
no i can't explain it.
he spent over an hour hunting for the card. Then he had to drive another hour and a half to get back to where he is staying. It made him rethink his notion
of climbing mt lemmon tomorrow.
and hey, i see sunshine in Seattle!
You're supposed to have the card as your "offical" proof.
Biciclista, does he still have the reciepts(assumimng they used reciepts for controls) and will the organizer accept them?
Zen, what kind of PT? I've been out of touch......
Just got back from my walk - I'm not sure how far I went, maybe a little over a mile. I walked to my acupuncturist's office for a visit, then came home.
Adults look sideways at me in my collar, little children run up and say hi and start talking. I love little children. :)
My gait is reminiscent of Frankenstein but he's much more graceful.
Divorce!
After five years of living apart.
He was supposed to have a quit claim deed to sign in September. I tried to be nice but I'm tired of living like a squatter on these cement floors and putting up with leaky windows. What he did with the insurance money from the flood I don't know.
I just got fed up (and I have the money to pay a lawyer now :D)
Progress! I love to hear that everyone's making progress--Fredwina. Snap. Zen. Forward motion...good.
And yup. Little kids are the best. It's why I still do my stressful job--I really like those kids. They think everything's interesting. Kids always love seeing our tandem go by. Although come to think of it, most adults do too. There's something about a tandem that just makes people smile.
Snap- Your signature makes me happy, it makes me laugh. Little kids usually see us for our strengths and love us. I love kids my nieces think I rule the world and am the most beautiful woman alive, they are brilliant.
Kids are completely in love with bikes and motorcycles. I like that.
I had to do an "I'm thanksful" turkey for work. I am thankful for my family's health, end of Aggie football season, carbon fiber and sunny days with no wind. They won't get it. :p
Congratulations on hiring a lawyer, Zen!
good morning everyone. I am having 15 more minutes of fame today. I posted a painting I did on a political forum today, and everyone loved it.
I am beside myself. I couldn't sleep last night. And all because I wanted a picture to hang up in my office of the next president!
Mimi, I don't think you'll offend anyone if you post a link! I'd love to see your painting.
If you think nieces and nephews do it for you, Ama, wait til you have grandchildren! Oh, I'm melting just thinking about it.
And by the way, he calls me Ama!

Just to be sure, I will post a link to my blog where it is featured.
Tucker, yeah, i wish i was going to have grandkids before I'm too old to enjoy them.
LOL- I don't have kids! But we might have one someday. My parents would probably like a grandkid even though they say they don't care and my big brother is divorced and not dating so it is my burden. My husband's brother and step siblings are filling his parent's homes with plenty of grandkids but his grandmother wants one from our house. Doh!
Mimi- Your work is beautiful! Giusseppe looks like an old friend we had. He loved to cook and talk. He died last fall, all the world lost a friend.
my cousin Giuseppe is one of the kindest men I've ever known, and boy does he like to talk. And eat :D:D Thanks Aggie for your kind words, and you too, Oakleaf.
Gorgeous work, Mimi! I'd like a copy of the Obama painting, please. I'll send you a PM.
Mimi, that is beautiful work!! I had no idea you were so talented!
Mimi does some amazing work.
I especially love her landscapes & her whimsy kitties.
And that Obama portrait is really something special.
Mimi....awesome! I am always so impressed (and envious) of such talent!:p
Mimi-cool painting!
I'm really really annoyed  :( I have no idea if i slept some funny way or bumped my neck or it's just from not using my core as much but the dizzy spells have returned. I had BPV (there's an old thread in the health section somewhere about it) and the exercise my dr provided made it disappear. I guess the particles in my brain settled and all ok.
Yesterday, I got out of bed my normal way & found the whole room spinning. That's how it was last time..
Hopefully the massage i'm booked in for today (Subi Sports Massage) will knead some of the kinks out of my arms, neck & back.
Arhgh
