I saw someone wearing a great t-shirt once. Had to talk to her about it. It looked very professional. Like you'd expect to see employees of a company wearing.
It said (in subdued professional printing over the left chest):

Hey there!
I'm back from BR and we had a VERY successful trip! We found a place for my son and daughter to go. It's not a daycare center it's a learning center. Very cool place. They conduct Preschool - teaching them to read, and learn geography, science, math, french, and so on. It looks like she'll learn more there than she would where she is now. They also take younger children and teach them French, early reading skills, counting, colors, etc. Very awesome place! Yippee!
We also .... da da da daaaaa.... drumroll... found a house! It's brand spanking new and is huge! We paid less per sq ft than we sold our current house for! Yippee! I'm going to put some of the pics on photobucket - I'll let you know when I have them posted.
Mr. Fish made good progress on getting grad school and a job arranged - so yippe there, too!
And - we had a pleasant visit with in-laws! Freaky!
I'll catch up on the 10 pages of TD that I missed tomorrow or so. We have a dinner thing tonight - after driving all day. Fun times I tell you!

Yay, fish! I had a lab simulation on fish farming yesterday. We had to make sure the fish didn't die or get sick. I thought of you. ;)

On an unrelated note, have you all seen the movie "Dodgeball"? The character who sets me off the most is Jason Bateman's as the dumb sports commentator. I really liked him on Arrested Development. Before that, jeez the last time I remember seeing him in something was the Hogan Family :rolleyes:
Beta! I'm so glad you didn't get slammed with the rain. I hope you drove to Evanston? I'm also glad I didn't try to do the ride. I would not have been up for it, and I have no experience with pacelines. As someone pointed out, triathlon's taught me to stay well back of other riders.
I'm thinking next year will be the 1/2 IM, the Accenture sprint, and then maybe this North Shore Century. The year after that, short runs, sprint tris, long rides. The best laid plans, right? But that's how I see it.

Spoke on the phone with a guy from Match today. Nice conversation, seems like a cool guy. Raising his 13 year old daughter, wife died when the girl was an infant. Main disadvantage at this point: He lives waaaay out in the hinterlands. (Plainfield, for those in the know). I am such a city girl. Who knows though? MW, as always, BR! :D We're going to meet sometime this week. I hope he plans something and invites me. I hate it when the guy sort of waffles, and waffles...I know they're trying to be considerate, or whatever, but it's attractive to me when a guy just makes a plan for us.

I cleaned out my basement storage locker today, and I threw away all KINDS of stuff. Stuff I was saving from my former life, basically evidence of my misery. Journals, paintings I'd made. I did a little ritual before hand, and burned one page from the journal I kept in the last year of my marriage. It felt wonderful to get rid of all that stuff. Some is going to the resale, most went into the garbage. My locker is so clean and organized now. It won't be a battle to find things. I also brought up the "fall and winter" boxes. They'll live in my bedroom for a month or two, no doubt. I haven't figured out any more gracious way to do the seasonal transition thing. :rolleyes:
But... there are so many NICE people in Plainfield. I had a teacher who lived there and commuted to work *every morning* I think it was close to an hour drive. Nuts.
