Mimi, sorry Don is having a rough time. He is very strong ( I know this from reading a lot of your previous posts from your rides) and will pull through this. Also please try to take care of yourself too!! Positive vibes for both you and Don.

I didn't even get to have my nice dinner with NbyNW because I have to stay at the hospital so much (and eat crappy food)

The good news is that i am home right now doing laundry and cooking that chicken.
and I (blush) learned how to pay the house payment.

Mimi, I am sorry to hear that you are having more challenges with DH's recovery. But, it will pass. Can you bring your own food into the hospital (even if you have to sneak it)?
Catrin, hope your mom appreciates your visit and her surgery goes well.

Thank you Concord Power and Light for keeping our electricity on. My poor friends in the next town are on day #3 without power. Two of them are staying here tonight, on their anniversary. Their house is now at 48 degrees. Since I drive through 3 neighboring towns on my way to my office, I got to see the devastation from the storm today. Even negotiating some minor intersections without traffic lights was not fun.
Please let me feel OK tomorrow and no coughing. I want to ride my new bike, even for 10 miles.

Roxy, sorry you've had experiences with others about your weight. Sad as it might be, I think society has gotten desensitized to weight issues and the asumptions that "fat" people just can't push themselves away from the table, and ridicule is OK because they are to blame for their own condition.

From one big beautiful lady to another... keep riding and passing all those "skinny" gals.

I was worried about tomorrows general strike in Oakland (I work there).

Would I get stuck on the way to or from? Would I remember all the lyrics to Union Maid, Which Side Are You On? and what's the last chorus to Solidarity Forever?

What if I get stuck there and if so what happens to my mutt?

I'm taking the day off, watching the news from home. :)

You rocked that last exam. And they didn't. I know you have a bit of "survivor's guilt" over it, but you need to get over that. Sympathize (because you've been there), don't mention your grade unless pressed, and study for the final.
