Thank you for all the hugs. They're helping!
The snow sure isn't, though. My biggest hope - a bit of sunshine later for some nice photo ops. Not holding my breath, though.

snow, snow, snow
schools are closed for Seattle area. I'd take pictures, but my camera is being weird. (batteries are low I think)
My poor little daffodils are lying flat and leaning over! Will they survive? They were about to bloom!
Not looking forward to the slippery drive down hill to work (and uphill home!) I bet most of it will be melted off the roads by the time I have to drive, though. There are blue patches in the sky already. (I'm deliberately ignoring the thick dark heavy clouds):D
KG good job! glad you finally finished those report cards!!!!
it went from cloudy, foggy, and rainy yesterday. just pure cr@p weather, you know the depressing kind. now this morning i wake up and everything is frozen solid, wind is blowing, and there is snow on the ground with some good sized drifts. gotta love the weather out here. not really, can't wait to move!
Knot, Mimi - how's the weather/roads now?
EARTHQUAKE!!!!!
AAAAAAAAG!!! Trek just had an earthquake! Must call her!
Edit: aAAAAAaaaAAG! 4.04!!!
AAAAAaaAAAAAG!!! She was scared!!! AAAAAAG!!!!

We just had a light quake, 4.04 magnitude, news said it centered around Lafayette, CA. News reports no damage, don't worry TE TD.
Kit, I really like your new avatar!!
Earth didn't move for me. C'mon up here, Trek.... ;)
Thanks Knot :D I figured one of these days I'd get around to drawing an avatar for myself...
Thanks to X for the scanner to make it possible... ;)
Yeah Trek you should move up there. ...though I think *that* would have Knot feelin' a little earth shakin' ;) :D  ;)
Anyone heard from Nanci lately??
Nanci, check in? We miss you...
:D
I was just wondering where Nanci was too.....
Hope she and the torts are doing well:)
kit will you draw one for me too, please? http://www.smileypad.com/v224/Personal/Heart-Beat.gif
for those of you working in an office that suddenly you have rubber bands flying at your head (gee never in my office) here is some fun things to have on your side of the battlefield. http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfare/
I love thinkgeek.com... and yes, CWR I'll draw one for you. I love characterizations...and I love scribbling... :D :D :D It's sort of an anime look... it's been a *long* time since I've drawn much tho so be kind. :D
kit i saw this and thought of you.
your the best!
LOL....I just clicked the thinkgeek list and I own the first 15 things on the list. I'm not kidding....and not all of those things belong to my 8yo son either. Does that make me a geek? or just well armed....:D
Can I get one too, Kit?
Those used to be my desktops at work.... actually..... I have http://images.despair.com/products/d.../gettowork.jpg
as my demotivator right now. I change it weekly. :D
I stress that it's *EXTREMELY* tongue-in-cheek.
i'm going with well armed AG and very happy your not in my office. ;)
I have this one on the computer room door at work:

LAWL  :D :p
being such the productive one i am at work. i was reading the news and came across this article which took me to the mountain biker's websight and the page that the article was talking about.
In bed with Lara Croft...
Worked on my commutermobile a little bit and felt all butch and stuff. (and I wore my Amici Veloci buff pirate-style as I worked on the bike... *very* butch! :p ) I'm tired from my 9 1/2 hr shift at the clinic, and the kids next door are having a big party. So I've retreated to my bed with my laptop and Tomb Raider. Too bad I don't have earphones!
See y'all in the morning.
I like the despair.com posters. DH wants some for his office. Trek I am glad to hear you are safe. Kit, your avatar is awesome. Great job. :)
I am not caffeinated enough and have a horrible migraine hangover. Yesterday was thunderstorms and flash floods. Today it is snowing. My head does not stand a chance. :(
Take care bmo3 - I'm sorry you're having a bad week.
The Pedigree shelter dog commercials break my heart. "I know I'm a good dog, and I just want to go home" SOB! If I had the room, I'd have so many dogs.....I'd be one of those "dog ladies".
I've got a cuisinart running in my tummy this morning. It started yesterday, and I don't like it one bit. Looks like it's soup and toast again today. I can't be sick, I have too much to do! Like buy blue Sidi shoes at REI.....
Snap, i 'm the same way about cats. If I didn't share my house with my husband, I'd have way more cats than the 3 I have. EVERYDAY there are temptations..
poor sweet kitties whose people are dying, going into nursing homes,
etc, etc.
Snap feel better.
bmom and snap, hope you're feeling better
I get teary for all those commercials, even when they're happy. I'm silly that way. Yes, we have more room in our hearts for many more dogs and cats, but no more room in our house (or budget)!
Our big doggie, 'Cuda, had a lump removed from his foot yesterday. He's being very good and mellow so far, but the pain med injection hasn't worn off yet. He's so brave and good!
Everybody have the best Saturday you can, okay?

Hugs to you and Cuda :)
I will be getting a dog when I move. There is a great shelter near where I'll be that I'm sure I will find a new buddy at. :D
Yes, Mimi and I both feel the same way about kitties. And we both help out our local cat rescue organizations. I hope everyone who gets a new pet bypasses breeders and first tries their local animal shelter to find one of poor homeless furry creatures who are aching to give all their grateful love to a new owner. Give them another chance to live a happy life. Prove to them they are wanted by someone, somewhere. :o
chickwhorips "that's what i'm going to be in a few years."
me too :o we can get together and start www.teamcanine.com
oops, somebody's already got that.
they train dogs, we can save them. we'll put a .org at the end instead of .com.
This lovely kitty is a rescued cat ... and very clean too.

The philosophical implications of the Spork.
One must consider how much simpler the dinner table of life would be if our only decision was whether to use "the spork or the Leatherman for this meal."
http://www.rei.com/online/store/Sear...=spork&x=0&y=0 And even more elegant a question if the spork is made of titanium. The next higher order of complication would be whether one needed BOTH spork AND Leatherman.
All of life reduced to two simple tools.
Now, we mustn't forget the joyful freedom of chopsticks. http://www.snowpeak.com/gears/sct003.htm However, one must have the proper container for the consumption of liquids if one is using chopsticks. How do you taste a simmering pot of stew if you are using chopsticks? I think we find that a spoon is required, nonetheless.
Hence, the spork. http://www.rei.com/online/store/Prod...ory_rn=5777365
Ah, the ti spork. A lovely utensil. But what place in life the foon?

The foon, my dear Grasshopper, is merely the zen reflection of the spork.
All is one in the great mystery of the universe.
To quote the great Swedish Chef: "Spork, spork, spork!"
"Tiger, Tiger, burning bright"
What is it with all the newbies named some variant of "tiger?"
