yes, very very unusual, we've gotten no snow that sticks for several years now while outlying areas get plenty.
The History of Thread Drift In Triathlon Forum
I posted something in Triathlon about "is it ok to walk the run part of a tri". The thread wandered a bit, and I posted something remarking on the drift. Nanci posted "Thread Drift" and history was born!
So, I guess it's Nanci's and my child? A loooove child. Cuz I looooooved TD and like I said, darn near lived on it!
not this girl!
I am home, looking out the window. Yes. we'll have stories of commutes being over 6 hours long tomorrow. we have a website where you can watch the traffic
http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/seattle/
It keeps crashing because it's so busy, and if you check, there's a lot of black
that means gridlock.
We've got maybe 2 inches? The roads are pretty slick, though.
Lots of people were calling the clinic to see if we were still open, and of course we were. Lots of patients cancelled, too; mainly because so many of our roads were treacherous. One patient called from the ditch his car had slid into, to say he wouldn't be making it today!
I think we should've sent all the shoulder patients out to the parking lot to scrape snow off our cars... hey! Functional activity! Good exercise!:p
Well, I guess I should start watching what I say on here a little more closely now. Ya know, since we're hangin' out here in the breeze and all... Nah!
Now wait a minute AG and BMo3. Dead last is my spot so you can both just bite me. ;) Of course, on second thought, if by coming in last I get to meet Sally, maybe she'll bite me instead. Or is she the goodies in the basket you were talking about Knot? :D (Whut? I really cleaned this part up, honest.)
Ya know, I'm not much for snow normally, but even I miss it now. I wanna go sledding down the massive hill at the park, shoot across the baseball field and slide into 3rd base. (Ya get extra points if ya can hit 3rd.) The trick is to lift your left cheek just at the correct time when you hit the major bump 1/2 way down. It gives you just the right amount of lift to clear the trailing edge and propels ya even faster. Tons of fun. I wish we had a j-bar to go back up tho. Phew!! :D And of course, I have 4 wheel drive again. **rubs hands together greedily**
Well, I guess that's about it for one night of mischief. Someone important is waiting to talk to me. Goodnight TD!! Sweet dreams..... :)
3 inches of snow in South East Seattle! Cars getting stuck in intersections,
and people leaving their cars!! ah, a snow day in Seattle. It's been 10 years since we had one this lovely!
Suuuuure, LBTC, it's AAAAAALLLLLLLLLL about you. ;)

Here's a photo of a commuter this morning, navigating through the snow while
talking on her cell phone.
Yeah, she's probably saying "Honey, you said it was just a few flakes! Now come and pick me the h*ll up!!"
Nah, i think she's saying "who is that strange lady taking my pic?" :D
Mimi,
You take great pictures. :)
She's saying
"Honey, please come pick me up quick!- There's some weirdo woman in wool tights who looks like Alfonsina Morini following me!"
we were in my husband's pick up truck, he rolled the windows and bellowed out
"Good morning" and when she looked, I took the photo.
she never said a word ... to us ... we kept driving at 20mph down the road.
Oh you did take that picture! I thought maybe it was a newspaper shot...
Good evening.
I have a snootfull. Lemon Drops and Bloody Mary's.
I will hate tomorrow.
Snootful?
Ohhhh dear...36c tomorrow & 38c on Sunday...Won't forget the sunscreen and a heap of water..
Wanna go to the beach before it gets hot?
c
I see we're all back here. Well we're at 9834 replies....do we go for 10,000?
Yes, ma'am, I find weather to be a good reason to take pictures!
I just love that downunder weather. it's a hoot. I just went outside to look for the comet and it was so cold that my eyes teared up.
(no, i didn't find the comet. I hear it will be easier to see in the southern hemisphere)
Except for this morning!
Actually, I had hail, but there was snow further along the tracks. Ain't Global Warming fun?
3.8, so medium. In Glen Ellen. I'll have to call my mom in Sonoma and ask whether it woke her. But I figure the house has been through far worse. It's pretty well built.
I'll bring the gluten-free Budweiser Redbridge.
