Duck, my apologizes on not hunting you down while you were here! I just discovered the martini bar in the last couple months - the perk there is no smoking allowed and there's always a cool 2-3 piece band playing. Very interesting clientel for central Wisconsin so I like the culture of the place.

How about this? The last weekend of July I will need 3 volunteers to be on a 4 x 24 hour mtb race. The remainder of you will be crew and support personnel. At the end of the race, HUGE party for the next day or so for my 40th birthday. How does that sound?? Any takers??

Even though it's a HUGE pain in the A** and couldn't come at a worse time, costs you money you may not have right now, upsetting, etc, try to keep it in perspective....it's just a piece of rug. Far less awful than a loved one having an accident or breaking a leg or something.
Put in some earplugs, have some warm milk and honey, curl up under the warm blankets and try to get a good night's rest. Things will seem less overwhelming tomorrow. :o

Lisa-you are right, in the grand scheme of life, there are far worse things that can happen. Yet right now, this is my reality and while it may not seem like much, it is a major life stressor for me and my family.
Yes it IS a huge and nasty stress! That's why I try to think of comforting thoughts for you to think instead.... :)
We had a flood 8 years ago where they had to pull up all the carpeting and put those huge fans too, but all through the downstairs...things got back to normal faster than we thought they would.

I keep getting an email that says "Reset your Windows Live password". I do not have a Windows Live Account. I don'y want to reply as it requests in case it's a phishing expedition. It looks pretty real though. Anyone heard of this as spam?

When someone finds a way to mess with Macs, I will be so sad. I'm really enjoying the "open-source/other programming language" benefits of Mac. I don't understand it (other than the analogy that PC viruses trying to get into a Mac are like a man speaking Japanese trying to boss around a man who only speaks Russian) but I like it.
I hear ya. We just changed frm Macs to PCs at our school, against the lab instructor and my fierce opposition, and we've had nothing but problems. Plus the SD is no longer servicing or upgrading macs so I have to make do with my imac running 0S 9 :eek: at school. I'm tempted to secretly install 0S10 myself but I don't think it has enough RAM...
Anyhoo, I have never had a virus. I've heard there are a couple of mac viruses out there but so far, none here... I'm more worried about getting an overload of spam by replying to emals that are simply looking to see if it's a valid address...
Sounds like phishing to me. If you DID have a WL account, I would suggest writing to the WL service folks separately, not as a reply to the mail but look up their contact info and send them a separate message. Since you don't have an account, I would simply assume it's a phishing expedition and delete it. And for all you mac folks out there ... don't be so smug. There may not be a lot of mac viruses, but phishing and spam are non-discriminatory.Quote:
