And do you use a darning egg?
Hey, me too! (Into socks, not darning.) When my family asks me what I want for Christmas, I say "socks", and they think I'm kidding. I guess it's not as much fun for them.
no. i'm not THAT good.Quote:

My SO is from Chicago, and a couple of times a year she announces that we're moving to Chicago. Her grandkids live 10 minutes from us, so we never get close to actually moving. But she loved it there. Makes me want to go for a visit to see the area. I've been in CA and the South my whole life.Quote:

Yes SK - I have a darning egg.:p
you bought 4? I only bought two. (what was I thinking? I wanted 4 pair!)
now I'm jealous!
Yeah, you notice the age of those of us talking about darning? We're just a fine vintage.

Yep, we're aged like fine wine...or old socks. Not like those darn kids these days who don't know what a darning egg is. ;)
Two stripeys, one shorty pair, and a pair of non-smartwool cow sox.
I also have a darning egg.
(am I counting correctly? Is that three of us?)
um... I'm not sure what this says about me, but I have one, too. Mom made sure we knew how to repair our stuff because we were "artsy and craftsy enough to do it, and broke enough to have to". Thanks mum. I hardly ever use it, though... it's just too easy to buy new socks!
i have a friend that knitted me a pair of really cool green striped socks. just the right hight and oh so cute!
I like socks, but don't have near as many as y'all do. I did get a pair of Smartwool socks from my SS and I love those! For daily wear I've been wearing some socks by Danskin - they are wicking and have an arch support band. Cheap and comfy!
TD...
I just came back from a 4yr old's birthday party (from FishJr's class). They were all playing great and running around like maniacs as 4 yr olds are so good at doing. Then I see two girls dragging my daughter across the room (they were in a gym). They toss her onto a mat and then proceed to stomp on her arm and put all their weight on her chest. If they were any bigger than her, I'm pretty sure they would have broken her arm. Good thing she drinks lots of milk! Her arm is red and sore - mainly at the elbow. Poor thing. She yelled and tried to get them off of her. I intervened (loudly). One of the girls got in trouble. Yikes! That was interesting. My heart is still racing. FishJr is taking it easy watching Tom & Jerry. I need to go ride to get the adrenaline out of my system.
GRRRRRRRR!
I can't find my student loan bill, and it's gotta be mailed TODAY!!!!!
I did a bunch of shredding y'day, and I'm afraid it went through the shredder!
