I absolutely agree. We need some action around here.

WHAT must I do to provoke people out here?!
*sheds trench c-*
well maybe I don't have to go that far.
Oh! New joke
Q: How many kids with ADHD does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: Let's go ride bikes!
well, first you have to roust them out of bed. Once they're up you can start
spreading amazing rumors about them (like X's butt fetish... oops, I said it)
I do find it humorous that we west coast kids are the only ones up.
...hmm. This I did not know. She also "sleeps funny" oops, I said that, too. And Jen. What dark rumors do we have about Jen? Maybe that she has an entry lvl bike. Can you beLIEVE it? not a top 'o the line whatever-they're-called or a bianchi or a madone? *huff* and she calls herself a cyclist!
Wha???? butt fetish???  You've been peeking in my diary again woman!! **walks off in a huff** I need a better lock on that thing.
Kit - don'tcha say it, don'tcha say it!! Quiet there in the peanut gallery. ;)
Yeah, thanks. I'll have to remember that for any other things or people I may want to "come out" about. :D
See ya kids! Have a spectacular day and be safe.
X.
Hi, remember me???
Ugh, been having 'puter problems at home and it's still not running and I just haven't taken the time to call and see if I can get it fixed.
We got a snow storm Friday night and got the white Christmas we wanted - complete with wet, heavy snow that knocked the power out. I was without power all day Saturday which is better that the people that were without power until Christmas morning!
Kit, were you in WI for Christmas? You better not have been cuz you didn't call....
Welcome home CWR. Can't wait to see the pix!
I can't even begin to catch up here so I hope everyone enjoyed at least some aspect of Christmas - mine was wonderful and now I need to get working out again. I almost punched the scale this morning:eek:
Say what? *giggle*
I don't even think I know *how* to behave. :D
Well gotta go get ready for work. Shower, etc etc. oh the joy.
ttyl, TD!
@}:---'--,-----
I must be off! (waaaaaaaaay off) Flowers por vous because it's going to be a great day :D
Ahhh, coffee and baileys - the only way to wake up in the morning. :D
I can't believe I managed to gain 2.5 lbs since last Friday. Did I really eat 3500 X 2.5 = 8750 extra calories? No way. Maybe 3500 but that's it.
It was snowing when I got home last night - woke up to at least 8" of fresh white stuff this morning. So nice after the very wet, green Christmas in Vancouver. (I'm Mimi and the PNW gals can attest to that.)
So I've been busy catching up - you ladies are too funny. Dh keeps looking over here to see what I'm laughing out loud all the time. Never mind, it's nothing... :)
Is there a link to X's Myspace page?
LOVE the ADHD joke Kits. Will remember that one for sure. What do you think would happen if I tried my kid's ritalin? Anyone done it recreationally? I want to understand what he's taking. Wonder what it does to people who aren't adhd. Well, I guess I am HD, not but not AD.
BMO - how are the headaches with the migraine meds. Are you coping?
I bought a beeeautiful prime rib roast for dinner tonight. Will keep you posted on my weight gain...
....... oops. Note to self. Don't put soup on the stove and then read TD. I am getting too old to multi-task. Think it's the baileys? I'm now down one pot and I guess I need to put new batteries in the smoke alarm cause it didn't work....
LOL, maybe I DO need ritalin...
KG-it is just water weight, you will be fine. I have no intention of stepping on a scale. I am still enjoying the holidays. :p
My 1/2 a cent is do not try any medciation, unless you absolutely have to.
Migraines-I am living through them. Keepiong a journal for my next appointment in less than a month. They appoear to be more frequent and more intense on this medication the is supposed to lessen them.
Awww, sorry to hear that Jennifer - life can be so disheartening when accompanied by constant headaches. I truly hope you are able to find the right combo of meds. Crossing my fingers for your next appointment....
PS Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't type. :p
Recreational Ritalin is supposed to be much like Dexadrine and other attention-span-increasers. Expect it to act much like a strong stimulant but (according to sis) not with the 'icky, druggy feeling' of caffeine. Your method of uptake is up to you. Ingestion vs inhalation, really. Results may vary. Duration and intensity are up to method of uptake, ranging from three or four hours (very intense) up to twelve with a longer, lower arc of action. Your personal sensitivity will also vary. If you're ADHD, the dose may not even affect you that way. You may just feel 'more normal'. If not, expect the above.
Personally, I would not recommend it. Just have a coffee.
And a red bull.
And pop a couple Ginseng/Ginkgo pills.
at that point you should be experiencing the same feeling AND be vibrating too much to care :D
Hmmm, probably not a good idea for me at all then. I can't drink two cups of coffee without getting heart palpatations.
For concentration etc, I'd recommend Ginkgo and grape seed extract most, I think. Anyone else have any suggestions? Those are the two I know (and take them with Grapefruit juice) because I have serious, serious attention problems at work. (I say as I post from work, and IM, and...)
I'm not so much concerned about increasing my concentration as I am finding out what it's like for my kid to take ritalin. At the same time, I know that it has a much different affect on a person with adhd than it does on a "regular" person. I've talked to my daughter about it and she says she does not get the "caffeine-like" reaction like she does if she has too much coffee / red bull etc. And with my son, it clearly does not "wire" him, instead it makes him act calm, rational, and "normal". Weird....
I do NOT have a Myspace page people. That was Mimi being funny. No more emails please...
Just too popular for your own good, sis. :D
You know, for a nominal fee, I could act as your bodyguard or something. God knows I'm already in the mafia takin' peoples' thumbs, whacking contractors and goodness-knows-what-else. I'm licensed (at least in THIS state) for security, and soon to be in securities. :)
Just a thought. :)
I'm not sure what frightens me more- the idea that people can't think of an outrageous rumor about me, or the idea that people could try to think of something but then rethink it b/c it may well be true
oh and some fun because it just struck me today. Jason has you stand up, point your finger, look at that finger, and spin in circles. You're weaving by the end... and as he plays in bars, well... yeah. :D Such a blast. :D If anyone can see this guy live, please do. :D
Kitsune,
I hear you really like to wear a lot of pink! and long fingernails, pink?
X,
I am sorry I didn't mean to make all your fans think that you had a myspace.
Indeed, i just blurted it out because i thought it was a funny thing to say.
You can get me later I am sure.
Mimi. You're good. Very, Very good. ;) The gaudier the better. And everyone needs to see my aDORable chi-pom General Ahmed Zachariah Phillipe *giggle-squeak!*
Hi all
I recommend that you don't go away on vacation or get away from the computer if you want to keep up with the Thread! It is just too much
The trip to Tucson went great - got to ride in the really nice weather (60-70's) Yahoo that was really nice after the cold icy snowy weather we've been getting.
The parents are doing great in their new house - starting to hang things on the walls and it is looking like their house now. The sis's house is always nice - they just got it painted inside so it is really nice now. You should see this pumpkin colored wall in her kitchen - it is BEAUtiful! It is more like the color of pumpkin pie than the color of the outside of a pumpkin
I've figured out that I really don't like traditional christmas food anymore, (whipped cream egg nog, prime rib); but I more than made up for it by drinking some really nice red wine. Klinker Brick Old Vine and Cline ancient old vine zins - oh they were yummy! Drank too much, but I had company!
We picked up our new toilet (dual buttons) flush (they come from Australia). Really well designed and water efficient. Leave it to the Aussies - the Americans are just too far behind the eight ball when it comes to conservation!
Wish me luck tonight. Hubby and I will try to remove the very large mirror from the wall in the (being) remodeled bathroom so that we can install the new countertop! Yikes, it looks daunting!
Work is incredibly boring today! I just need to go home
Mimi - all my fans? Oh my gawd! :p Nah, it's ok, really. There are just a few joksters out there who like to yank my chain. I can take it. Besides, I wouldn't call it a butt fetish necessarily. I do happen to like checking out nice, hot, ripped biker bums though. Who doesn't? :D
Kit - I know for a fact that you *mumble* while you *mumble mumble*! Ahem.
Wow, it's been one of those days at work. Can't wait to get out of here and go soak in the hot tub for an hour or so. Maybe have a drink or two or three.
-X.
X- I *mumble*? When I'm *mumble, mumble*-ing?!   SHH! Don't tell the TDers! What would the children think?! *gasp* *fluster*:p
Mimi- I agree with X, too. I mean... that's why God made Lycra. To accentuate the sweet curvature of the cyclist's posterior. ;)
X- Do Not drop another cookie into the hot tub. It'd be sad to have to shock it again.
Hot tubs are not toys. Cookies are not submersible. etc etc... the little facts of life. ;)
BMo3- Popularity is a fun thing to play with. If you let it sit long enough, it fades (thank god) if you want it badly enough you won't get the right kind, and whatever, blah blah so and so. :D you can have mine if you want it. I'm too popular for my own good. :D
Indeed.
I AM a wall flower.
it's safer back here.
and Kit, I was right about your dog, wasn't I?
Someday.... someday... I will sit at my computer, IMing you, and saying "tell tell tell!" and you'll be, for about half an hour, more popular than you would have ever hoped for or wanted. ;)
Mimi- ah... sure.
I certainly like looking at my favorite cyclist! (all over)
"all over" is nice, yes. Jerseys can be *quite* flattering... (How many times have I rubbernecked and about crashed? Enough!) but I have to say.... those shorts, combined with that butt and those legs.... Whuf! oh! it just got a lot warmer in the office... :) Yes, there's so much more there than looks but... biker butt is nice, too. ;)
It's true. Something about lycra...
Yup, I think I can safely say that I am one of those people who can truly appreciate every square inch of a person. The right person that is... Still, nice firm buns are high on the list for me. Personality, humor and intelligence trump the physical aspects though, hands down. :D
(Edited cuz now I'm sober... :o)
ah yes, but I love cyclists for their minds.
Yeah, that's it
X- Uh.... no? I *did* run into the side of a station wagon once on campus b/c of a hottie in a jersey but... uh... that was a long time ago. Since then, the weaving etc has become part of my 'charm'. Note: 'charm' does not denote 'lack of skill'. :D
Trek- I'm right there with ya. Really. the cyclist's mind is a beautiful thing. And so is that seat.... on that seat... and *gasp!* is that a brooks?! *drool*
ok, maybe it's not the cyclist but the components? Or vice versa?
I should refrain from rposting drunk, but it's fun in moderation. hopefully the moderators agree. ;)
What about triathletes?
Someday I will get that pic that I want, with me holding up a byke like Jessi Streisand with all those shoulder muscles and everything. I swear.
