Have a great time on the TFC ride. I've done it a few times and it is quite fun! As was mentioned earlier, the pace is relaxed and it is very well organized. You do get a free t-shirt and magnet.
I've done the 75 mile loop and the 100mile loop. There is a low grade hill at the end. It is not a mountain, but was a surprise to me the first time I did it. I'm not sure they are changing the routes. I did start early in the a.m. and was not overwhelmed by the lance wanna-bes. I comfortably did my pace (around 14-15mph at that time).
And the food...well it does the trick but nothing to write home about. There are some stores along the way if you get sick of PB&J sandwiches, oranges and bananas.
Best of luck to all of you!
If any of you are doing a "training ride" to prep for this in the RI area or Western Mass (I divide my time btw the two places), let me know, I'd love to join you.
Hey Stella, keep checking in, maybe you can join us on a ride if we ever get our acts together and organize one. (hint hint NE gang) I'm not to far from the Mass/RI border and I like to ride the Eastbay every now and then. Let me know if you are interested.

I will be back from Western Mass on May 12th. I plan on going for a ride in the Amherst area this Saturday (I will have finished 3 final exams by then and will be ready for a good ride!)
I sent in my registration and forgot to include a SASE and got an email from NBW that said they have only 200 slots left!Quote:

Here's a link to the site of the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen, the club that holds this ride each year: http://www.nbwclub.org/. There's a link on this page to the ride info, and a warning that it is almost full.Quote:

O boy, I was worried that I was going to be out of luck since I was so late getting my registration in... but I got my confirmation today.
I'm rider #1775, so it looks like I just squeaked in!
:D
Hi Ladies,
The friend I did TFCE with last year bailed on me this time around..I was wondering if any of you are slower riders ( 12-15MPH) and if I could hook up with you on some practice rides before and also on the course. I live near Worcester, but am willing to travel to train. Thanks! Renee
I live in Grafton, so pretty close and I'm a slow rider also. Unfortunately the kids are now home for the summer but if you want to hook up on the weekends or maybe early evening some nights we might be able to do that.
I'd be interested. PM me!
Stella
Hmmmm..... Tri-State Seacoast Century, 2007 looks like it would be a good goal for me!
To you ladies doing it this September, enjoy :D !
Denise
Why put off till 2007 what we CAN DO in 2006 :D ?????
My husband and I signed up for the Tri-State Seacoast Century coming up this September.

We love New England (of course ;) ), and it will be beautiful to be able to ride along the N.H., Maine & Mass coastlines.
Until then, let's all enjoy the summer & keep the rain to a minimum..!
Denise
Hey Denise, where do you live? I live in Grafton but sometimes ride in Upton, Hopkinton, Westboro area. Are you anywhere near these towns.
Hi Surly!
I live in Waltham - (next to Newton, Watertown, Weston)... Are you down near R.I. ?
It would be nice to meet up sometime for a ride..... I actually just started riding earlier this month & am doing well at increasing mileage; my husband is too!
I LOVE that cycling IS "exercise".....BUT, DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT :D !
Have a great night!
Denise
Hi Denise,
Yup, close to RI and close to Worcester. Mass Pike, 290 and 146 are all at my doorstep. Are you free during the week to ride or only weekends?
Hi Surly!
Ill send you a PM..
Congratulations, Denise! I am volunteering on the Saturday afternoon of that event. I may ride Saturday am or on Sunday.Quote:
