Ooh! I'd like to go! Who's going to be the bold volunteer to solidify the date? Is there a Starbucks stop included in this ride? :D

I think AG's got her spreadsheet going. We can probably expect a full analysis soon.Quote:

There wuz last year.....within walking distance of the meeting spot, conveniently! You can pretty much count on a Starbucks partner, with me. :pQuote:

Erin, it would be great to meet you! We may have to do this ride on a more regular basis. It's great! :)
Luv t'have ya! :D My most favorite place in the world is the coast....on second thought, it's a tie in the running with Yosemite Nat'l Park. Both places have my heart.Quote:

Depending of course on the date....and if it doesn't interfere with my beloved Sacramento Monarchs basketball games, I can go, and.....I may be able to bring a SAG vehicle....my partner likes to tag along, and she always has nice goodies for riders like strawberries, cookies, pretzels, grapes, etc. So, when it's decided, I'll see if we can make it.....:)
All we need now is AG's superduper spreadsheet with special scheduling formulas (formulae?)
Hey - AKA-Kim, are you coming this time too (you did a nice job pulling me along heading back into town towards the end there as I was flagging!)
I'm really looking forward to this ride!
Saturday, June 17-no
Sunday, June 18-no
Saturday, June 24-no
Sunday, June 25-yes
Saturday, July 8-no
Sunday, July 9-no
Saturday, July 15-no
Sunday, July 16-no
Saturday, July 29-maybe
Sunday, July 30-yes
So 2 Sundays and possibly 1 Saturday (I work retail!)
Maybe I'll get to come down, but it doesn't look very promising!:( :( :( :(
Okay, now I really want to go so I'd like to be added to the spread sheet thingy ;)
Saturday, June 17 - No
Sunday, June 18 - No
Saturday, June 24 - Yes
Sunday, June 25 - Yes
Saturday, July 8 - Yes
Sunday, July 9 - Yes
Saturday, July 15 - No
Sunday, July 16 - Yes
Saturday, July 29 - No
Sunday, July 30 - No
Thank you to AG for doing the planning! :D
Tracy
Of course! Right now, I'm free any weekend in June or July (I gotta get a life).Quote:

Why, yes, I will be a guest at the Brew Hall. But that weekend wasn't on the latest list of dates. Or are you telling me I'll at least have some semblance of a life on one weekend (out of 52)?Quote:

We'll do 62 to her 200 and be back for beer first. Sounds like a good plan to me.Quote:

Yes'm. Start in Winters.
That would be fun (and, I'm free 5/20 too ;)). We might need to up the mileage a bit though, since we'll have LRRH a few weeks later.
Ride from our house in Davis adds 33.34 completely flat boring miles.
Or just go east across Vaca Valley Rd (at the south end of Pleasants Valley Rd), up Gibson Canyon and up the east side of Cantelow back over to Pleasants Valley -- maybe 10 more miles and 1,200-1,500 ft of climbing. Cantelow is where everyone (but me :o ) stopped while Ed rode up to the top of a ridge and back down. The east side is longer but not as steep, just several little false summits. Folks who don't want to do this extra bit can opt out but we'd all end up back on the same course.
If I could make it up for the 62 miler, would you guys be willing to wait for my slow hiney?
But, of course. You've got almost two months to kick that booty into gear.
Do you think it will still be raining on May 20th?
No comment. That flask cage may come in handy. Fill it with brandy and carry around like a St. Bernard.
OK. Here's what the spread sheet says.......
15 people responded that they wanted to do this ride. There are no dates where all 15 were available.
So I assigned numerical values.
Yes = 1 point
Maybe = 1/2 point
No = 0 points
If you didn't say you were unavailable for a given day, I counted it as a "yes".
Here are the results:
12.5 Points - Saturday, July 29
12.0 Points - Sunday, July 30
11.5 Points - Saturday, June 24
11.5 Points - Sunday, June 25
11.0 Points - Saturday, June 17
11.0 Points - Saturday, July 15
11.0 Points - Sunday, July 16
10.0 Points - Sunday, June 18
10.0 Points - Saturday, July 8
9.0 Points - Sunday, July 9
Anybody have other suggestions? Any of the dates would be ok for me. With a group of a dozen or so, I'd like to get a few more guides/helpers. I talked to Mr. Ed today. He's going to try to make it, so I better check the dates out with him.
And if anyone doesn't want to do the full 50 mile ride, there are lots of ways to cut a few miles out. Just let me know what you want to do.
the more, the merrier:
I vote for Sat. July 29th.
Sat, July 29th, is on the calendar.
I think the methodology was very well thought out; assigned value system appropriate; analysis carried out thorougly. Results explained well.;) :p :D
bummer, I'll definately go next time though! :p
T~
It's on my calendar, too! Trac', I'm bummed you won't be there.
me too but I've got a sprint tri the next day and its an 8 hour drive so... not happening this time....
next time though :p I'll look forward to another set of pictures to check out :D
T~
That's one of my maybe days, but now that it looks like a winner (or Sunday) I'll make some requests of my work days!
Is there a way to lengthen this ride to a metric if some of us want to do that distance?
You could possibly start further up the coast... maybe in Castroville. Don't know how much that would add on. AG will know, I'm sure.
Krebs Queen- lend me a hand! :D :D :D :D (What about further past Carmel? or maybe up Carmel Valley if it isn't tooooo hot!)
Hey Nancy... I've got my Krebs in hand!! ;) It looks like going out to Carmel Valley or even into Carmel would add quite a bit of mileage. It does look like there are some cool climbs around other parts of the peninsula if you wanted take a different route back. I'm not sure what the best thing would be. I really think AG would know the best thing to do since she lives down in that area.
I thought you'd find something! Might want to offer a different route back for those of us who are interested in longer maybe a little more challenge!
So, thanks and I'll tackle the subject with AG!
July 29th works for me! Can't wait! BG, I'll probably be interested in a longer route.
~BikeMomma
Hey Bike Momma- I was hoping you would pipe up! Good deal. That way we could actually meet each other!
Are you interested in doing Mines Road? It starts just outside of Livermore (you passed it on the Cindy ride). I don't know how far you are from Livermore, but it would be fun to do it with you. I'm also interested in doing the back side of Mt Hamilton. (this is all part of the DMD route that Veronica's doing). Let me know, and maybe some of us can take on the challenge!
July 29th - I'm in!
(That's the day after my birthday! What a great way to celebrate!)
Okay, lady Z, that means cake and ICE Scream!!:p :p :p :p :p
So, y'all are planning on riding from Livermore to Monterey?Quote:

A separate ride, though, and you're on. :D I live about an hour and a half away from the Livermore area by car (Atwater, near Merced). Actually, I'm about an hour and a half from Monterey too -- just a different direction.Quote:
