hehehe...good plan
I'm in for any time.
And I make my own beer:p
perhaps we should rename the site team brewstrogen.
Count me in. It's been a while since I've had a girls night out. This will be like a girls day in: why limit yourself to the dark hours??! There's no need for a designated driver, either.
Did you mean Saturday the 26th, SK? (You said 25th). We have plans, but I will try to send something remotely.
And where IS Brandi....??
Let's drink beer and talk about bikes. Oh wait, this is several nights a week for me;)
I'm in, too. Whenever. I would even break my no-beer-during-the-week rule for this. The calories don't count for something like this, correct? :)
Certainly not.
I'm here I'm here! I didn't even see this happening! Ha
Thank you for the honor of being the idea person on this. Ok So are we doing this on Thanksgiving? Let's make it over thanksgiving weekend that way all can put in when they can. How does that sound? I have to work from 26-1st that way for Thanksgiving works cause I am just cooking. And I plan on having a beer or 2 while cooking. I have micro brew I brought back from Tempe AZ called "kilt lifter".. Looking forward to having it with you all. So get your kilt's on!
Kilt Lifter is an AWESOME beer ! :D
I bought a case. :D And My husband just kinda likes it so it's all mine! But of coarse I have already sent special friends home with a couple bottle's. We can't get here. So a case seemed like a good idea.
This sounds like fun, I'm in too.
Maybe I'll go get a growler from the local brewery just to change it up a bit, otherwise it'll be Irish stout or good IPA from Oregon (with very few exceptions, I'm disappointed by East coast IPAs)
Carlotta - Can you tell me what those exceptions are? I am in Oregon and am very spoiled by all the fantastic IPA. My father in law is in Maine, and has become fond of our IPA and can't find anything close to being as good on the East Coast. Any suggestions for him? (and for us when we go visit and are stuck with less-than-hoppy-goodness!)
Oh - and I love the Cyber Beer fest! I will be sure to raise a glass during next weekend, and it will certainly be an Oregon IPA!
Well, I might just drink a wheat beer, as so far, I don't like any of the "local" beers I've tried.
Kilt Lifter? I'm intrigued, only because Tempe is my adopted hometown; I like the name.
So, on Thanksgiving? I can easily drink and cook.
I grew up in Portland, so you understand my definition of good IPA (people out here try to argue that there is lots of good East Coast IPA.....). I haven't done exhaustive sampling, but here are a couple I'll drink:
*Dogfish head 90 minute IPA. This is apparently the gold standard of EC IPAs. It's pretty good. 120 minute is hoppier (too much, and I like hops, it's just not very well balanced), 60 minute is IPA for people who don't really like/know IPA.
*Magic Hat seems to be making different IPAs this year and calling them "_________ On Tour." I've had the Blind Faith and hIPA and they're both pretty decent.
*Philadelphia Brewing's Newbold is ok, the BF likes it, but it's not citrusy at ALL which is something I love in my IPA. Not sure how far they distribute either.
*Not EC, but Sierra Nevada's Torpedo is great, and it seems like it should be find-able in Maine. It's certainly well-distributed here.
That said, we can get a number of good West Coast IPAs at our beer store (Caldera, 21st Amendment, Rogue), so more often that that we're drinking those...
Yup Thanksgiving weekend actually. That way everyone has a chance.Only thing is you have to post a picture of yourself with your bev of choice or at least a picture of the bev of choice.
Oooh, time to pull my Amici Veloci beer glasses out of storage (I have the Belgian glass shown in the middle). Makes beer that much tastier. And photogenic!
I love my Belgian AV glass.
Those are some nice glasses!
Glad I saw this post. It is warming up here so any excuse to pour a beer into my AV glass is most welcome.:)
I may be drinking heavily on Thanksgiving since out oven just crapped out again. Right now our choices are: order a pre cooked meal from the local grocery, do the Texas thing and find an outdoor cook top, a big pot, a lot of peanut oil and fry the sucker, or butterfly the turkey and cook int hours and hours on an outdoor barbeque grills with only one functional burner or get really creative and so sushi or something.
I would so love to have a functional oven. Especially now with family coming.
Currently enjoying a post ride, sunday evening ranger creek mesquite porter which is very nice.

Thursday it is. Last A&M - Texas football game since we're leaving their conference and they won't put us on their schedule. Seems a perfect time to raise a brew, toast TE and say "so long to the orange and white". Might even get Mr Aggie in the picture.
OK, this will give me good reason to ignore my mother in law :p
pftttt! :) only in my case it is the 90 year old FIL who has taken to having random cases of the moaning vapors and when you ask him what it wrong he sighs heavily and says "nothing". ARGH!!!

Man your beer mugs, wine glasses, juice cups or coffee mugs it's almost time to toast to us! Also don't forget to post a picture of your drink of choice and you or your cat, dog, mother in law, uncle Eddy whoever as long as we see your glass of beverage of choice! And maybe a toast!
See you tomorrow!
Austin Brew purchased, one I have never had but it is a Stout so it should please my palette. :) Cheers to the Holiday weekend and the wonderful ladies of TE!
I've several brews to choose from, a growler of fresh and local Porter that I am taking to a friends house to share at dinner this afternoon, or some lovely double chocolate stout, or....
I simply must ride today, preferably outside :)
A ride is in order here too before drinking and turkey start! Posted a "Toast thread" to get things going.
I think I will join the toast this evening during the annual post Thanksgiving tune session at a friend's house.
Wait, what time is the beerfest? I'm already three in. I don't know if I can sustain myself for much longer.
Dunnoh, but I'm so happy with my batch of homemade cranberry cordial I gotta share NOW!
Presenting the Cranberry Relish*:
*Cranberry cordial, Patron Citronage, Club Soda, thick slice of juice orange.
Dear TE sisters and occasional brothers
May the road be long, your legs and heart strong and the ride go on and on.

I moved this post in the 'Toast' thread....
