We had a cold front and it's now 96 with a humidity of 59%. I decided that it was time to put the new road tires on my spare set of rims and took the bike up and down the road for a ride test. There is a nice breeze and I was thinking that this kind of weather is perfect for gravel grinding.
I rode Monday night when it was a frigid 99. Luckily our brilliant ride leader decided we should all jump into the Barton Springs in our bike clothes. One of the best mountain bike rides I have had, didn't even mind driving home with wet clothes. The water of the springs is about 70 degrees, heaven.
The one thing we can really be thankful for in Central Texas is we didn't hit 100 until July 31. Last year we nearly broke the record for 100 degree days, I think it finally stopped at 68? It was a wetter than normal early summer which really helped. I just hope the 100's don't carry too far into September. :o
