OOPS, how could I forget my shopping trip to meet Lisa (who else would drive 2 hours to buy Ibex?) or our lovely 50 mile ride from Great Barrington, MA to Lisa's village in NY and back?
I have not met anyone either. Yellow has been down my way going to Zion National Park. A few have been here from SoCal for the Marathon. I have never met anyone. I feel kind of lonely out here in the desert.
Red Rock
Only one - 7rider.
I've only met two on purpose, but I bet I run across TE members all the time without knowing it.
Veronica, I will be in Camden, Maine on the 22nd-24th.
I forgot--also I met Thorn, but I didn't know she was Thorn until after I spent a week riding with her.
You left out SadieKate! I haven't met you and Jobob, but I have a picture of you guys--plus SK--on my fridge from last year's Waves to Wine. BTW, are you doing that ride again this year?
I've met the Silvers multiple times (and Silver Son). The Silvers and I did the Horsey Hundred in 2008 together, along with susan.wells. Mr. Silver briefly introduced me to Makbike and Mr. SR500 after RAIN last year. I was in a post-ride fog, however, and it was kind of a blur.
SK is short for SadieKate .
Oooh, I made a funny, SK is also known as Short Sarah (or SS), so as not to be confused with Tall Sarah, or TS, aka maillotpois, or mp. I think I'm in trouble now ... :D
If it's the picture I'm thinking of, that's not me with SK & mp, btw. She's their friend (whose name I have momentarily forgotten, doh) who they formed their Waves to Wine team around.
I, on the other hand, manned the very first W2W rest stop with Team Snap (me, Lee, Veronica, Thom, aka_kim, BikerZ, and, of couse, snap) and spent that time trying to minimize the gawdawful traffic jam at that stop, by harping at people to move themselves and their bikes off the freakin' path. Oy. Happily, Team Snap will not be working that rest stop at this year's W2W, instead we'll be working the one up in Marshall, so everyone will not descend up on us all at once.
Oh, now I see "SK" listed in the original list! I'm a little slow today! I could have sworn that the card I got from SK said that you were in included in the picture. The three women pictured are each straddling their bikes. So, if you were working the SAG, it makes sense that you aren't in the picture. Oh well; I like the picture all the same!
I've met two TE'ers so far (that I know of). Probably more without realizing it. One is IFJane, who lives about an hour up the road from me. Jane recruited me for her MS150 team this year! If not for Jane I probably wouldn't have signed up, and I certainly would not have had so much FUN!! :D
can I say, a whole bunch?
those whose names I can remember (like Jobob, Shootingstar, KNottedyet, Trek###, Eden, Susan###, MaryQFC, SalsaXXX, Teigyr, and those other gals, whose names are slipping my mind....)
oh there's Jocelyn, and JustVetMed, see, there's too many. and My friends who moved to Portland.. a he and SGTIGER!, now i forget their bikeforum names.
Augh.
lots!
oh and our good friend in SCOTLAND!
Hopefully you will come when summer finally decides to arrive in New England - it hasn't yet ;). Sunny today, but that's a rarity for us right now!
Our races are at 9:00 am on the 19th (Sunday). It's a totally fun scene in Yarmouth with the bike races, craft fair, rides, fried food as far as you can see...
Here's a link. I do hope you can make it - would be fun to meet you and Thom in person!
SheFly
It's been added to our schedule of events. I'll PM you my cell so we can hook up after the race. Maybe Thom will even get some pictures.
Veronica
Here's everyone that I can remember at the moment. I'm sure I left out someone.:o
Bruno, biciclista + Mr. B (aka Releighdon), Eden + Mr. E, MM_QFC + L, Knottedyet + SKnot, Teigyr + Mr. T, X-rayted, Kitsune, Salsabike + Mr. S, Dex, jocelynlf, jesvetmed, crazycanuck + Mr. C, Wahine, Quillfred, and trickytiger. And of course, BoyInAKilt, to whom I'm married.
7 - that I can remember .... although the total kept increasing while I was reading all the other posts and more came to mind.
Perhaps we'll have to revisit this thread next year at this time and see how much higher everyone's total has grown.
One more (and I'm pretty sure this is it)...Margo (lunacycles) when I bought my bike from her.
A big fat ZERO! (But I have met an honorary member, aka husband, as Mr. Silver calls them.)
...and we met Mr. HoosierGiant when he recognized us from TE pictures and came up to us after the Hilly Hundred...
It's an strange moment when someone comes up to you and says "Are you Mr. Silver?"
Great guy! We even met for lunch a few months ago.
While vacationing in Maine, we rode by SheFly's "other" home...does that count?
Am duplicating some of the other lists here, I'm sure, but here goes:
Bruno, Salsabike and DH, mimitabby aka biciclista and Raleighdon, SGTiger and DH aka BoyinaKilt, Teigyr and DH, Wahine, Eden, KnottedYet, SKnott, Trek420, Quillfred, Jesvetmed, TrickyTiger, BikerHen (and dancing Biker Chick!), 7rider, Xrayted, Kitsune, Jocelynelf, Shellyj, Dex, CrazyCanuck and DH - wow, lots of wonderful folks!
Mary
no one... guess I live a little too far. :o
Not sure I can count them all, but there's the Massachusetts contingent that's done a couple rides or meals, usually with Crankin's leadership (thanks). And the DC contingent whom I had the pleasure of riding the C&O with. And one member who lives in Texas and one in NY. And AlpineRabbit from here in Zurich. I met SheFly at the Tuesday night women's rides a couple years ago. And a couple of TE members have been to my house for mechanic assistance, and two have gotten wheel building lessons. I'm counting at least 12 from Massachusetts, 5 from DC, 2 from elsewhere in the US, and 1 from Europe. That's 20.
Will mention the names of those I've met ..since many TE members are doing also:
buddhabellies and her DH (she's quite a gardener too), Grog and her DH, badger, MauiRockhopper & her DH (kite-surfer instructor, ex-surfing champion), bicliclista & raleighdon, salsabike & her DH, jocelyn. Skinmini is coming soon.
Yesterday I got to meet and hang out with V, and hubbie Thom in Yarmouth, ME! They are here on vaca, and came out to the Yarmouth Clam Festival to watch DH and I race. Then we all went to lunch afterwards. Very fun!
I love meeting TE people :D.
SheFly
It was an awesome day! The race was fun to watch, chatting with Shefly and her honey was great and I got a lobster roll for lunch. Oh and the carrot cake for dessert was really good too. :D
Veronica
PS We have some great pictures from the race. They will for sure be up by next week when we get home.
Okay, let's redo this. All together now! I keep remembering others.

V, I was in Maine just the week before! I just missed you guys! I actually got back home on the 20th, wee hours. I recall my cousin was talking about the Clam Fest coming up too (they were making plans to avoid it, actually, because of the traffic).
Hope you had fun -- sounds like it was a good day out with SheFly & DH, and after having one in Freeport, I now have a "thing" for lobster rolls. :D
