It would be like an act of liberation, just picture it we would line the streets to welcome you, wave the Canadian flag, wearing those Roots beanie caps and toast your arrival with uhm who is it....Tim Horton donuts and coffee?
yup, I am! I love the Simpsons for that! giggleQuote:

Now, Trek, you know that many people up here would be happy to oblige your request if it wouldn't be considered an act of war upon the american people. We *like* the american people. We *hate* american policies and the current american government.

JLD - I wish you lived closer to me. You sound like the ideal riding partner - slow and steady that would suit me fine and getting to stop and spy on all your beautiful wildlife would be wonderful. :)Quote:

cheers!!!!!!!!
Hey EinZwei3,
Too bad to hear you are leaving the cold, ice and snow for sunny and warm San Diego. What are you thinking!?!??! Okay, that's just envy talking. Good luck on your pursuit for cycling glory in Cali. I know what you mean, the state of women's cycling here in Canada is dismal to say the least.
actually,***bluerider*** it's not really the weather that is annoying as much as getting hit by motor vehicles & cyclists every few months.
Check out my comments on Canadian Cyclist under " Hammerkittens".
BTW thanks for the encouraging words....Cheers
WHOA, number one, WTF is up with that post? HAMMERKITTENS? Righty O, only a guy could come up with that. Number two, holy crap, your experiences have been horrible to say the least. Where the *beep* do these riders come from?
I'm so sorry you've had to go through that kind of experience and reading your post about the recovery you've had to endure, I applaud you for continuing to cycle. That is OUTRAGEOUS. Have you been able to track any of these punks down? I'm so shocked and furious. I don't blame you for wanting to get out of here.
out 2day again for a " leisure ride" and how many times did some obnoxious pedestrians try to take me down. Why oh, Why? do they go into the bike lane and look up the street instead of where the traffic is coming from? Makes no damn freaking sence... My 2c. worth...Sorry 2 b leaving Canada, but not the mean streets of TO
Hello i am from québec city... and my english is so so lollllll
hello azurs and welcome to the board. If you get a chance there's a thread under the open titled "getting to know you". Tells you a bit more about us and where we're from, and if you're so inclined - tell us some more about you! as for the english - heck it's my native langaugue and some days I'm only so-so too!! ;) Besides: Cycling is languague-less (if that ain't a word it Should be eh Grog?)
so welcome to the wonderful world of cycling and hope to hear more from you!
Bonjour azurs! :)
Actually to me cycling is a very chatty sport, especially on some rides.Quote:

But if ain't a word, we'll make it up CM. :)
Welcome Azurs! Happy to see another Canadian on the forum...don't worry about the English...my French is less than so so... :)Quote:

I'm in Montreal... never get to ride outside this time of year, but I'm eager for spring. I'll definately be looking for some women to ride with.

Cheers!
Thanks Grog!
I've gone down to the curcuit a few times myself in the summer, but find the flatness discouraging. I'm training for IM lake placid which is far from flat. But for group rides and experience I'll definately check it out!
Well the CGV is certainly not a place to have a "ride", but for skills training, it's great. We did quite a bit of fast pacelining, intervals, things like that last summer. There's a few experienced cyclists and coaches around, and some triathletes, and it's a great bunch. There should also be other rides all summer. I hope to see you there. :)Quote:

Sure! It's a big island...which area did you want to visit? I can show you around the south island and greater Victoria area. Lots of good cycling here; road, path, and some MTB'ing....bring a bike!Quote:

new also... another montrealer here. just wanted to say howdy -- i just moved back here after 7 years or so in the states, need to get used to the weather again but definitely looking forward to getting out and about on wheels. the spinner at the gym doesn't quite compare to the wind on your cheeks :)
I'm new to the forum too. Living in T.O. Got a kick out of the "How do you know if you are Canadian" joke. I'd like to add..."You know your Canadian if you see the July temperature listed as 30 and you don't drag out your snowboard."

Another newbie to the forum :) I'm in Toronto. Kicking myself that just as the weather starts to turn nice, I go and hurt myself resulting in another two weeks on the trainer. Boo.
I'm from Southwestern Ontario and go to school 40 mins south of T-Dot.
Kelowna, BC.

Welcome to TE, Violette :)
I'm a Montrealer residing in Toronto since 2001. I'm also new to road cycling, got my bike two months ago and I will be riding until snow will stop me from doing so!
Why let it stop you? :D Get a big fat beater mountain bike and have fun!!
I work and live in Port Townsend, Wa. Many of my weekends are spent in Victoria, BC. Some really nice riding there!
 Toronto!
