You know... I think Jo, Kim and I have been to that pub. I do believe Jo and Kim went to several bakeries that day, while Thom and I rode up Bolinas Rd.

It's right by Sunshine bikes.
Wait-Is that the Cinderella training ride with Velogirls?
No, it's a bunch of friends getting together for a ride.
Anyone up for a ride on Sunday? Melissam and I are going to do a ride to San Gregorio Beach and back from the Palo Alto Park & Ride Lot. It's about 54 miles and 4900 feet of climbing.
Here's the map:

It should be a beautiful day for riding to the beach! The proposed starting time is 10:00, although that's not set in stone.
Anyone interested?
(Remember that we're setting clocks ahead Saturday night.)
Damn! I haven't been doing enough riding to do that one Dachs... But I would so love to join you two!! Maybe next time. I'm going to get some hills very very soon.
I'm out this weekend, but, barring the unforseen (I'll keep you posted) I'm in for next Sunday. Mmmm...beer....
Well alrighty then! 2 days in a row. We'll all be sick of each other by the end of the day Sunday.... :D:D:D:D
Yeah, and I'm supposed to be cutting back on the post-ride beers, so I'll be grumpy as well.
Not the beer - just the food.
Oh. You're my new best friend!
Just to review: Sunday 3/15 meet at 9:30 am in Fairfax at the java hut across from Iron Springs Brewery. 50 - 60 miles plus a bakery finishing with beer.

Kim?
Did I miss anyone?
Sadly (snif) Tofu is out. I completely forgot about a skills class thingy I'm going to on Saturday, which leaves me staying close to home on Sunday (Bf and I kind of have a deal). Have a beer (or two) for me, and I'll try to catch you next time.
I'm in!!
I'll try to do my part for the team and have an extra beer for Tofu.

*hangs head as she walks in to forum* Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass, too. I've been dealing with some personal issues and I have to get these resolved. I'm really sorry ladies. I am so upset.
Here are my favorites in four different counties!
1. Anything involving the climb up Tunitas Creek Road on the Peninsula. You can go down either Alpine or the 84 to get there. Rough pavement on Tunitas; best done uphill.
2. Another vote for the Calaveras out-and-back! NO traffic. Worth doing as an out-and-back, for this reason alone. Gorgeous. ~20 miles each way.
3. Clockwise around Mt. Diablo via Morgan Territory Road. Good for early season, when it's still green out there and not too hot yet. ~55 miles, hilly, rough pavement on the uphill of Morgan Territory Road (which is why you do *not* want to do it counter-clockwise).
4. Kings Mountain Road in Sonoma County. Multiple route options. The one I did was only ~45 miles, but there was a massive amount of climbing; very difficult loop. But it was also the most gorgeous loop I've ever done anywhere in the Bay Area. Sorry I don't have the details - I started near the cost somewhere and went counter-clockwise.
Still on for the 40 miles or whatever people want to do. I don't care as long as I get to go to the bakery.
Eating breakfast, bikes are ready to go...
I've already been out running this morning. A whooping two miles. :p
Are we coming back over Bolinas Rd.? It makes the route about 45 miles, but gets in a little more climbing for the crazy Death Ride groupies.
Veronica
This crazy Death Ride groupie could use an easy ride today, thanks. :o
You whoop when you run?
An easy ride would be just fine by me. Just sayin'.
I whoop when it's over. :p
Two early four spellin' write.
Veronica
40 miles. 1 bakery. 2 hills.
That would be lovely.
Have fun ladies! (and gents...) I will be with you today in spirit, and maybe in the flesh later this year. :)
hope you all had a wonderful time! I was thinking about you all when the last 15+ miles of my 40 mile ride (with no bakery and beer) were in the 50 degree rain!
Hope you took photos!
Ellen
No photos. The weather was a bit crummy - overcast all morning with a few hints of sun every now and then. The coffee and pastries at the bakery in Point Reyes were tasty. We did see a newt coming back on the trail through Samuel P Taylor Park. The skies opened up on us as we descended back into Fairfax. There is nothing quite like rain pelting you in the face on a descent. I was VERY glad I put on my rain coat for that descent. It was a lovely ride though. The company was good. Lunch after was nice, especially the chocolate cake.
Veronica
sounds like rain was the order of the day! Glad you all had a good time....i sure do miss riding in the Bay Area and with you all! Maybe sometime I will bring my bike back on a trip....
It was a really nice ride! And yes, the beer afterwards at the Iron Springs Brewery was excellent.
A great day with good friends. :)
That was super fun! Nice riding with you all. And it was fun to actually stop and have something at the bakery. I was thinking about it and I don't think I have actually had a morning bun from there in years. We usually just ride through. Nice to stop and enjoy things for a bit!
