That doesn't even make sense

It does if you're Japanese.
I didn't know you were Japanese
Splain that to me then
Tango.
Red.
Pearl.
Tango Red, yes.
I'm giving this far too much thought.
Yes, you are. Pearl is referring to the FINISH. It's not metallic or flat or glossy. It's pearl.
It is a very pretty color, and looks shiny and new even with a layer of dust on it.
Karen
rofl. I use that all the time in my dusty old house! lol.
Karen
And they saved the headbadge! Thanks Chris :) Who knows how old the parts are but they look new, as the re-build moves along they are all being cleaned.
Steve, Chris's wrench says it'll be a shame to ride this in the rain. I know Knott keeps her bikes spotless.
The color of that bike is just stunning.
I would love to have a red bike to match my Element. :)
Karen
Bwahahahah! heheheh
Beautiful!
Tango Red Pearl just makes me think of Tom Lehrer...

I dunno about that ;) the only pain we're into is quads after a climb.
At the risk of getting this thread locked ;) I think this bike's the same red as the sheets at the end of this video:

And Trace, how's about helping with the kids and groceries? That's hot. :p Chicks dig help with housework.
I'm noticing the saddle - it looks really comfy. What style is that called? I ask because I've just restarted my own longish rides after being off-saddle since November, and everything feels great except my nether regions. D*H picked this seat out for me (oh, he of the scoffing-at-kickstands persuasion), but I think I need something broader and more cushioned...do they make marshmallow bike seats? Something with goosedown, maybe?
And yeah, that red is something else. It's a beautiful bike. It's just so classic looking!
I want a brass bell now.
Ah, bike envy. So this is what it feels like.

That red is gorgeous. Now I want to paint my bike red too. My burnt orange aluminum frame just isn't doing it for me.
So how much does it cost to make that happen?
This is the 2nd bike I've had painted. The first was my commutermobile. Check the powdercoat thread:
http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=8295
Another TE'er with fantastic paint job done by the same LBS

I think Ms. Jobob had one of her Riv's repainted here, I can't find the thread.
Your price varies. Are you having it painted or powdercoated? Paint's more expensive.
Reproducing decals, custom decals or leaving it plain? Ours have all been plain.
Making upgrades or hope to find the plastic baggie with the orriginal parts and where they go? ;)
Your price varies.
So you could check with your local shop or PM me and I'll point you to my guy.
This is one of KnottedYet's bikes. She has very wide sits bones and one leg that's slightly longer than the other. This Brooks model is the saddle that fits her, and with springs the leg length difference is a non-issue. :D
I have a Sella Italia butt, she's got a Brooks butt
Brooks makes various widths, sizes both with springs and without. I'm sure there's a thread here somewhere with Everything You Need to Know About Brooks.
Some people love 'em, some hate 'em, some like the look, some think it's is a fad, some feel Brooks on a road bike is an abomination, some feel anything ELSE on a "country bike" is a crime against nature.
If the Brooks fits, ride it :D I must say if your saddle is not comfy the answer is usually NOT to get wider and/or more padded. You just gotta match your bones so you are not riding on any of the soft tissue. Ask around here, try different saddles.
Which is funny since my truck is a Dodge and they call it "Inferno Red" and they are likely the same red or is yours the more flat red. This is the metallic darker red which seems to be the only red dodge truck I see in Texas.
My Dodge Caliber is black with "Inferno Red" inserts (meaning plastic dash and red seat panels). I laugh because my little compact car isn't tough or fast with her racey seat inserts. :p:D
Where I'm from, we'd call that Candy Apple Red! Absolutely gorgeous! It inspires me to get cracking on getting my 1988 pink Bridgestone up and running properly!
And they kept the headbadge :D
Looks even better with the wicker basket :p
And from the top ;) :p
Why no bar end shifters?
I would think that downtube shifting would be awkward.

And STOP TANTALIZING ME!
Downtube shifters are cool, and are preferred by many.
But what I want to know is what the heck is that big black plastic thing on top of the stem??
I know, I know, I forgot to take that off. We were futzing with adjustments at the last minute at the shop. That may be what they used to mark Knott's preferred height, bring it back to that after the test ride?
I'll re-stage the shots minus the tape, add the basket with flowers, move the recycling bin, more lavender in the foreground, dog in the background ....
Sigh, everyone wants to be the art director. ;)
Trek, Red Cedar looks purrrrrdy BTW! I like what you did with you patio too.
The black thing looks like the mounting basket for the wicker basket that Lisa (BSG) gave me that was from her brother via Nashbar. I love that basket, and it really makes the bicycle look cheerful!
Yes, the idea is this is Knott's promenade to the farm market bike :D
Gorgeous! Many happy miles!
Lavender gives me hives, but the bike...oh, the bike sure is purty. :D
Trek, that bike is just beautiful. :)
And.... FOR SALE!!!!
Make an offer.
Approximately size 52-53 cm, road-sport geometry of the 1980's (pretty much what we call "touring" geometry now). Complete refurbished rebuild, with fresh and lovely paint. Ridden 3 or 4 times since rebuild.
Brooks B68 included IF you want it. (if not, I'm keeping the saddle)
Love the bike, but need the money.
Purchased for $80, about $750 in work and paint. All work done through Robinson Wheelworks.
Frame is perfect in every way. Components are original, but all restored. Stem has cosmetic scratches. Bars, grips, and brake levers are new. Rims are mis-matched, and tires are 25mm front and 23 mm rear.
Bike sold as-is. Location: SF, California. You pay shipping.
PM me.
ETA: also for sale, and for a whole sh*tload more $$, is my gold Waterford (52-53cm) X-12, as seen in my avatar. (This bike was not damaged nor even dampened in the flood, it was safely in my kitchen during all the excitement.) Location: Seattle, Washington. You pay shipping and you better be ready to pay a lot, because this beauty should be treated like a queen during shipment.
Sorry to hear about the flood, and good luck on selling your bikes! It is probably a good thing that the Waterford is too large for me - shipping it would probably cost more than the fork for my Gunnar!
I've taken the Waterford off the market. I cannot bear to part with her...
But the candy-apple red Giant is still for sale.
