i think it's out of Winchester.
Would love to do this ride and join you ladies but my parents are going to be in town visiting next weekend and I must host them.
I'll be watching CSC. :) I'm supposed to race this Saturday in Poolesville, but I got taken out in a crash last weekend, so the jury is still out on that one. I haven't been back on the bike yet.
I may do my own training weekend in C'ville the 14-15th.
Yeah, I'm ok. I was racing at BikeJam, which is wide and fast and curvy. It was a 3/4 race so super fast and pretty scary with lots of riders from PA and just in general not the usual crowd. In turn 1 (beginning of a wide S curve), some chick off to my left decided to cut really hard from outside to inside (right hand turn) and rammed into the woman on my left. I had to jump a bit right and bumped the woman on my right. This caused me to go back left, but the woman on my left was still coming at me. We bumped against each other several times. I was able to keep it going though. And then when I thought I was finally going to make it, someone screamed and hit me again (I think rear wheel?) such that I started skidding out. I kind of went under the bike to my left and spun around. I landed on my head on the right. My helmet is totally trashed. Minor bruises and road rash. The bike is fine except for some scratches on the left of the front wheel and fork (that plus a nice chain print on my left calf makes me think I went under a bike). Bar tape shredded on right and pedal scratched, but overall ok. I'm just pissed to have been caught in the middle of a chain reaction. And it's scary to think of how bad it could've been.
I haven't ridden yet, because my head is still too bruised to feel like wearing a helmet. (I got a new one). I may venture out tomorrow afternoon.
The aftermath (I was dizzy and my head hurt, but I got up pretty quickly):

Wow, I'm not sure if you're my hero or if I should be scared for you. Let that noggin heal and I'm glad your helmet did its job.
