Today I'm grateful for my sisters.
And for the wind at my back - even when I have to earn it by running upwind first :D

I'm thankful for the health of myself and of my family members.
I'm thankful for my parents, even though our relationship is not ideal - I realize that they love me and have done/are doing the best that they know how. I'm thankful that there is still time to work on my relationship with them.
I'm thankful for today!
I'm thankful that today I got to ride outside when it was only 36, but because the sun was out, it felt great. And I am thankful I forced myself to get all dressed in my cold weather gear to ride to an appointment.
I'm thankful I am seeing my older son tonight! It's so much fun to have grown kids you really like.
I'm thankful that Scott is coming home in 10 days so we can see him before he goes to Iraq. I am still eternally thankful to him for making us a "riding family."
Today I am thankful for the very honest boy in my period 5 class that realized during the test on genetics that I had accidentally copied the answer key with the test. Duh....Everybody had the answers!
Thanks P for bringing it to my attention...
We got a good laugh out of it
I'm glad I kept the dog who I originally said was "not the dog for me". She looks so cute in her little Woolrich coat she makes me smile.
And for her buddy Gingervitis :)
Today I am grateful for my best friend back east, who is funny, wise, cares a lot about others, and is a grown-up.
I am grateful that my physiotherapist said I should work through the problem so I don't have to stop running again!!!!
Today I am thankful ---
--That I could get a ride in -- outside -- on dry pavement before the winter weather sets in and means I'll be Spinerval Queen for awhile;
--Decently warm feet & hands during said ride;
--Another day off;
--A trio of SLEEPING Golden Retrievers (when puppy [the Holy Terror] wakes up and is ready to rock, look out---stitches? what stitches in me sweet belly? mama, me want to play and wrestle Maeve & Maud, me not want to be calm!)
Last night I wanted hot chocolate, which keeps me awake all night, and turns me into my evile doppleganger. I'm glad I discovered hot milk with sugar and vanilla is really good, without the side effects of chocolate!
I'm so happy today because my mom came and stayed with us last night and will stay over again tonight!! She was so relaxed and happy, we had some wine and had a nice talk, she said she loved being with us. I love my mom!
I'm thankful today for the pain in my knees, which is my reminder that I have been working hard helping my son get his house ready to sell, which means I have raised someone so responsible so young that he has a house to sell in the first place.
I'm thankful for my bike, which I will go pedal around the block a few times before the rain comes, to help my knees feel better.
I'm thankful for the sunshine streaming in my window, because I know it's not going to last.

Thursday, I am grateful for---
Our year-round sun room, where I work out with Coach Troy. Warm & dry when it's nasty outside;
My fluffy Patagonia fleece cardigan, which I'm wearing to work today. Its good vibes will hopefully serve as a "anti-Strega shield" during the big meeting I have scheduled today. May it allow me to deflect all of La Strega's backstabbing, nasty ways and prevail over her machinations;
Only six more days, counting today, in this assignment from hell. The light at the end of this tunnel is getting brighter
Yesterday's, really:
I'm grateful for Thai food, and for being able to watch the moon come out of the eclipse.
I'm grateful for the bike racks on our busses, and that so far the weather looks good for multimodal commuting today.
I'm so thankful for a warm home to shelter us from the bitter cold.
I'm thankful for the support and encouragement of the TE'ers.
I'm thankful for my health and that I can enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
I am thankful for Peanut starting rehab and starting to become her old self again.
I am thankful for things freezing over last night so the commute to work was easy because I know the way home is going to be sloppy and wet. I'm also thankful for studded tires.
I am thankful for my boyfriend helping me through some hard times.
I am grateful that my Surly and I managed our first multi-modal commute of 2008. And she didn't fall out of the bus's bike rack!
And I'm also VERY grateful that the evening bus driver managed to avoid t-boning the truck who ran the red light in front of us... cuz my bike would've been splattered!
I liked that the driver joked about my bike and the truck over the PA, and that the other bus riders laughed. (and that I had enough composure to joke back... despite my pounding heart and dry mouth and sweaty palms!)
I am infinitely grateful that my mother seems to be getting better and that today she had enough confidence to go to the mall and do a little shopping with my sister. Thank you universe.:D
Today I am happy. Some very good things are falling into place with my mom, it's so good to have even minor little resolutions to the seemingly endless list of decisions and tasks.
SNOW! I love it when it's falling like it is right now.
I'm glad I don't have to drive.
I'm thankful Trixie slept well last night.
I am very grateful that I did not have to get out and drive in the ice this morning.
I am grateful that our electricity has stayed on in spite of the ice.
Today, I'm thankful because
I, too, could take leave and not have to drive in the ice;
The snow bypassed us and we won't have to deal with the "dregs" for who-knows-how-long;
That the freezing rain should turn to rain;
Yesterday, those who matter & who have influence stood up against the one who is pushing for her own self-serving reasons---she was exposed and now, my boss, et. al., see the horrible situation I've faced since early January;
That I have only four more commutes to Herndon;
For the first green hints of the tulips to come....

I'm also thankful, today, that Fiona has made that rite of passage, allowing us to take down the BigAss crate. It took up a corner of the living room and didn't add much of ambiance.
Today I'm thankful for Bernd who owns and runs the gym I belong to. Knowledgeable, helpful, very hands-on and a character to boot.
And for warm rain...
and for having the laundry room in the garage so I could strip out of my wet clothes as soon as I got home :p
Grateful for Spring!
It's sunny, beautiful, clear here in Seattle! The birds are going nuts, my daffodils are coming up, and my primroses are blooming!
I'm glad I went to Pilates, even though it was more like yoga today.
Here's something...one of my LBS's is looking into carrying Blue! ;)

I just found this thread ... Very nice!
Today was fun, a short but pleasant ride on a clear sunny day, with friends and lunch with them after. Portland Int'l Raceway was repaved over the winter, and they had "open house" today. Walkers from 10am to 11am, bikes and walkers sharing the road from 11am to one, then the cars and motorcycles after 1pm. Brand new smooooooth pavement for our bicycle races this year will be wonderful!!!
Edna
Brand new smooth pavement is one of lifes greatest small pleasures.
I am thankful ... that my mother is moving on, that she got busted out of the hospital today and that my sister was there for her this week to help.
... for all the beautiful trees we saw today.
... for nature's infinite layers of texture, colour and density.
Thankful that I didn't get hit on the road today by the reckless (and they think drunk) kid who crashed his car just a way down the road.
Thankful to the nice fireman who took pity on me after over an hour of standing there, sweat-drenched and freezing in the cold, darkening afternoon.
The Staters were letting a lot of people walk around, including some locals who lived there, but they wouldn't let me through, even after the ambulances were gone, and after a bunch of people had walked around all over the site.
That fireman said, "Don't look around, just follow me, then disappear." I was freezing cold, and he helped me get on my way, only 20 minutes back to my car. It was the very end of my ride.
I am thankful that I finally found my driver's licence yesterday while on my way to the DMV to get a new one! It's been missing since last fall....
