I just ordered a few MORE things an hour or so ago (7:30 a.m. DST) and the website behaved itself beautifully this time. Yesterday's shopping excursion was an exasperating exercise in patience (but worth it!) I hope those who couldn't place orders yesterday are able to get through today, either by phone or online.
Today I bought my first Terry saddle (the Butterfly Ti). For $60, I couldn't resist......It's on back order......I can hardly wait to get it and give it a whirl! :D
I got mine!
OK West Coasters...I keep getting "welcome to voice mail", what time will they open so I can talk to a real person??
EDIT - D'oh, nevermind...Terry is in Upstate NY.
Ok.....so I just went there and I did order ONE THING....those Volcano gloves.
I've heard about how good they are and figured I'd try them at half price. Otherwise, I restrained myself. :o
The website worked fine for me, just loaded a bit slow here and there.
For the Terry website... I couldn't even get pages to display so I could view their products. Yesterday I was FINALLY about to see something and tried to add it to my cart, only to be told "I could not order that item". What?
I'm going to try again today... but I don't have high hopes of the website working properly. I suspect it's overloaded with everyone wanting to login to get their really expensive stuff 1/2 off.
OMG this is crazy! The upload is slowing! I just *hinted* to hubby that I'd like the snow leopard Cashmina jersey and hat. And being the wonderful hubby that he is, he ordered some stocking stuffers from TE. :)
Don't forget the Bike Cubes for the cyclists on your list. ;)
OK, so I got TO the site, was able to view products... and add them to my cart. But everytime I add something to my cart, it deletes what I added before.
Funny.
Why don't they just price the stuff reasonably in the first place. $400+ for a jacket, give me a break. Then they don't have to run 2 day sales and overload the server...... I am not participating, don't have that kind of time.
Well, since it won't keep anyting in my cart... I'm just going to have to order and pay for stuff one at a time.
All I want is a pair of cycling tights and a jacket.
Not you, Queen! Sorry!
I just meant that any retailer who offers 50% off everything ought to be better prepared. I'd bet TE would have planned ahead. ;) If they did this in a brick and mortar store and had to tell people to come back because their cash registers couldn't handle the business, people would freak out on them. I do feel for their poor operators though...they must be having a rough time!
(and don't get me wrong, I like Terry - I have 2 bikes from them one of which I bought off the website...)
Well, I just went and ordered what I wanted one by one. I got a pair of cold weather cycling tights with padding and a jacket... all for $150. That's cheap for those 2 items. :)

There are no exterior bungee cords. This cube is pretty substantial fully loaded. My shoes are size 43. This will give you an idea of the size of the cube.
Hubby just reported that the Terry computer is down and that the operators can only take your information at this point. They will e-mail you with the confirmation at a later date. :(
My order went through as far as I can tell (I was extraordinarily patient yesterday morning) but a certain credit card company seems to keep losing my new address. I changed the address on-line and received an email confirmation. I had two transactions declined (one at the grocery store which doesn't care where I live!) so I called the company and spoke to two people. My new address was re-entered and I was assured all was well now.
Guess what? Another decline until I entered the old address. Terry can't get into their database to confirm if my CC went through on their order. I have to wait.
The CC company shall remain nameless but I've asked them if what is in their wallet will return to my wallet.
I guess in the greater scheme of things this is all small potatoes to whine about but it's plain ol' embarrassing at the grocery store with everyone standing in line. How do you announce in a friendly loud voice, "Believe me! I've lots of credit! I paid my bill!"
Oh my gosh, that happened to me one year when I was Christmas shopping. There was a long line of people and for some reason the card didn't go through. It had plenty of credit on it, but the clerk didn't believe me and called the manager over. Fortunately they didn't cut up the card in front of the whole world.
Queen, will you have it for just in case stuff or will it be semi-full? Let me see if I can photograph it sitting gingerly on my hubby's new rear rack. Hold on.
It'll be full of stuff like my lunch, sweater, camera, purse type items...
Thanks for your help with this! http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...lies/thumb.gif
Ok, here's the Cube fully loaded on the rack:

And here's the Cube when it's empty:

Sundial - Thanks so much!! That helps immensely.
PS - I'm REALLY jealous of your garage!
Thanks, we enjoy it. :)
Sooooo, are you gonna get a Cube?
this is the most frustrating thing ever!
:) Great! :)
Queen, it can be compressed even more. It came in a box that was only 4 inches thick.
Those bike cubes are huge! That garage is huge!
I can't imagine you could strap that bike cube to the back of your saddle without a rack to support the bottom. It looks more like a bowling bag or a gym bag, made to carry with handle straps.
(mmmm....nice pre-stretched canvas there....) :)
Boy I feel like I was really lucky going on the Terry site at 10 am and getting my gloves with no problem. :o
Terry should make it into a 3 day sale next year- with 30% off everything the first day, 40% off the second day, and 50% off on the third day. That would even out the stampede rate nicely. (hey and they should give me my gloves free for that brilliant idea!)
Hey, does anyone know if things purchased during this sale are returnable?
I can't find any info on the site, but I thought maybe one of you who placed orders with a person might have asked?
Me + Cube = :)
I store my bike stuff in it and it is nice to just throw one bag into the car when I want to go ride somewhere.
I was having problems with my cart emptying also, but logging in solved that. Though I hate to imagine trying to set up an account if you don't already have one--but if you do, it will solve a lot of frustrations!
Finally! My order went through, whew! I had to log in and add things to my wish list(already had a few things in it - hehe:rolleyes: ;) :p ) than go to the wish list management screen and add items from there so that everything would be added at the same time. I did lose a couple of small items, but decided it just wasn't worth it to try to get them added. It did take a few tries to get the final check-out screen to reflect the 50% off prices though. It was a little bit of a hassle but well worth it. It beats holiday traffic, using defensive tactics to beat off hostile shoppers(I've had a few instances of people shoving my little ones out of the way during this time of year at the mall.:( ), and walking around for hours not finding anything. :D
Anyone have the Cargo Skort????? can't decide on size...do they run small or big??? I have cycling thighs so i usually wear a smaller size in skirts than pants...wondering if it is true here? wonder what the exchange policy is on this sale?
It would not let me order this morning until I set up an account. After I thouhgt about it, I had tried to order online from Terry before, but it wouldn't take it. & there was no big sale then. But I didn't set up an account then (that option is there). Today I finally did after it kept telling me I had entered the wrong password. I hadn't entered any passwaord, there wasn't a spot for one.
So I really think the site is a little buggy in the first place.
After all our stuff comes in, we should have a new thread of modeling our purchases.
