Yeah, TS, that thing looks like it could really tear your leg off!!
It blends well with all of the fall colors  If you blink, you might not see it!!!

That's funny, I hadn't actually seen him! It's also funny, because it could rip your leg off - that is the meanest dog known to man. If he was any bigger, he would have been put to sleep, since he's less than 20 lbs and about 10 inches tall at the withers, I can control him and most people just laugh at him when he attacks.
There is also lots of coyote skat around this walk, never seen one here. I've seen several at another location that I walk. This location is about 100 yards from the Yakima river (thus the trees in the background, no river means no trees).
Later I'll attach another photo of the same walk with Murphy (the aforementioned dog) taking a dirt bath, he loves dirt baths.
Murphy taking a dirt bath - Fall is the best time for dirtbaths as long as you can avoid the goatheads!
I love all the great photos on this thread! Here's a pic I took on my ride with my BF today. It's a cider mill at the town next to mine. As you can see, it is a HUGE fall hang out since they have the best cider and the best donuts around! You can see our bikes over by the left side of the building. :)

lyca - Oh, I can smell the cider, YUM!
sundial - Wow! What a beautiful picture. stunning! Did you take that one? Where?
Fall also has very TALL CORN! After mountain biking on Sunday Joe and I stopped at our local farmer's vegetable/fruit stand to pick up some things for dinner. I had Joe stand in front of the corn. It will soon be a corn maze for the Halloween festivities.
Goodness it was tall!

Yes, I took a day to hike and photograph this at my local state park. I take my girls there (my german shepherd dogs) and together we hike and enjoy the scenery.
Here are a few more:

Susan, I would enjoy riding by that corn field. Wow! That's some super corn!
Our corn mazes are always cut into dry, brown stalks. That is some tall corn!
Karen
Sundial, how did you get your puppy to pose? What a cutie!!!
It took a lot of patience--and time. She is very good about sitting still for me, but she was constantly surveying the area for birds and critters. It started to rain and if you look at the foliage, you'll see raindrops on the leaves.
Such a cute German Shepherd and the red leaves, just beautiful! So you say she sat still for you Sundial?! WOW! My dog couldn't sit still for half a second!
Mr. yellow and I had a nice ride up City Creek Canyon in SLC this afternoon. The picture doesn't do the actual scenery justice!

so pretty. It's still like summer here. :o
My camera and I LOVE this time of year! All of these taken in Vernon, BC, Canada
Wow LBTC - the third one down in beautiful. How'd ya capture that?
Thanks, Flybye. I'm in love with my camera, I guess....
Have you clicked the link in my sig line? There's a few more lucky pics there, too...
Isn't this the best time of year??
Hugs and butterflies,

So jealous, Sue, it looks just fantastic down there.
I've had a lazy, lazy summer with moving three times, but getting back on the bike soon. At least in my garage and at spin class if the snow starts to fly. Our colors are much the same, but since I saw City Creek Canyon in summer, I now want to ride it again in fall. So nice!
Hi to Brian!

WOW!!! LBTC, you are a professional photographer!!!! Those pictures are amazing!
Somehow my camera seems to be focusing on leaves as opposed to trees...

Just a "FEW" ;) ;) ;) more lucky pics? Wow! I will have to spend some time there for sure............. Thanks for pointing that out. You sure have a knack for filling the frame. Very aesthetically pleasing stuff if I do say so myself. I got a scholarship or two in art for college, so I think my opinion must qualify in someone's eyes :o :)
Well done!
Wow Ms. Goldberg..... Wow!!! Nuff said!
Hey thanks - your comment brought a big smile to my face!
If you're interested, more fall photos can be found in this gallery: http://denise.smugmug.com/gallery/3567671.

Sandra, Flyebye - thank you so much! I'm almost ready to post the link to my online picture selling site....I'll keep you posted. (I might even be a professional photographer one day :) )
Denise - your pictures are great!!! How do you like smugmug? Have you sold much? I decided to go with Printroom. As I mentioned I don't have my address "out there" yet, but so far I'm happy with print quality, and with the general concept.
Hugs and butterflies, everyone!
~T~
I really like smugmug. The features are great, the developers continue to work on new stuff, and the community is wonderful. I highly recommend it. And if you decide to switch, you can get $5 off of your first year's subscription by placing my referral code ( llX8NBuQ4l6uQ ) in the 'Referred by' field on the signup form.
The community website is http://www.dgrin.com, and it goes well beyond smugmug. There is a small section that is devoted to smugmug and smugmug customization, but the bulk of it is about photography.
As far as selling goes, I have had my galleries there for a long time, and I switched to a pro account over a year ago, but I didn't open up my galleries to sell prints until very recently. No sales yet, but maybe someday...
Let us know what your printroom address is when you're ready.

Here's a picture of our heavenly blue morning glories in their last few days before the inevitable first frost will kill them dead. Alas! Our maple in the back has lost most of its orange leaves already. A little purple plum tree we planted 4 years ago is on the left.

How beautiful, Lisa! I tried growing Heavenly Blues one year only to find out that deer just loved 'em. Oh well...the downside of living in the woods. Nice to see what they are supposed to look like! :D
Emily
Your morning glories are so beautiful, Lisa.
Beautiful blue morning glories Lisa! I thought they only came in white! :p Shows you how much of a gardener I am! Aaaaa I sure do miss the eastern states for fall colors. I grew up in Pittsburgh. Someday (like when both of my kids are out of college . . . in 1 1/2 years) Joe and I are going to do a tour back east. Like Bike Vermont! Now wouldn't this be great?! I can't wait!:D
After being away on holidays for a week we are now back and being busy little mites getting ready for our move. Today was so nice however that I couldn't resist a ride. Here are a few snaps of fall foliage in Nevada County.
Great idea! Just did my first solo tour over Halloween and took some pics. We don't have the color like back East but we've got yellow against red cliffs.
Journal and more pics here...

I had to resurrect this thread! Here are some from my ride(s) today (I got 2 canyons in as I wanted to catch the color before it gets blown off in the storm that's supposed to arrive tomorrow).
City Creek Canyon--right in my 'hood!

Millcreek Canyon--right in Alex's 'hood!

Millcreek again, higher up.
(kind of messed up the stitching on this one)

Alex enjoying the PERFECT weather.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ek_Fall_08.jpg
Ah ha! So you actually loaded your Canon software, eh?
Very booful colors. I do wish we had more aspen here but so many other good things I can't complain.
Absolutely beautiful Yellow! I want to be there!!!!
Very pretty!
Our fall colors are still GREEN
But we do have "fall" weather, the lows are in the 60's, and afternoon highs in the low 80's. My bike is calling me. The weather is prefect, no more afternoon thunderstorms, "come ride!!!"
Well, the aspen are really still only about halfway there. The red is mostly Rocky Mtn maple. There is some sumac in there as well.
I'm hoping to get Mr. Yellow out tomorrow before the storm hits, but it looks like we might not make it. I'm glad I was able to scoot out of work early today and tackle both of the canyons.
OK, I like this thread....but I cringe every time I read the thread title "foilage".
Now I have to read it for a whole 'nother autumn!
Um....it's foliage. We're not talking tin foil here!
Curses, foiled again!
