Ah, if I make it to Dutcher Creek. Here's hoping. :)

Ah, if I make it to Dutcher Creek. Here's hoping. :)
Well the whole Dutcher Creek thing is overrated. So if you do the 200k course up to lunch then you've done the whole best part of the ride and if you don't make the cut off because you faff too long at lunch then it's no biggie. ;)
Ditto. The whole point of signing up for the 200k is just for route of the first 100 which isn't on any of the other loops. The last hunnerd is pretty much just boring all regular hum-drum wine country :p and you already saw it last year on the metric route.
That's the plan.
Have fun guys, sounds like a nice ride. My little ones are doing a kids fun run that day so I will be the running sag. I look forward to seeing some of your pics.:)
Bump a bit - roll call:
What distance are you riding?
What time are you planning on starting?
What are you wearing?
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride?
Add any question you believe relevant....
Me! Riding whatever ride Yellow is. How's that for definitive?
We're staying in Santa Rosa at the Comfort Inn both Friday and Saturday.
What distance are you riding? 200k
What time are you planning on starting? As early as we can - probably 7:30
What are you wearing? Probably Death Ride gear
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride? Heck yeah!
Where are you staying? LeeBob and I are staying Friday night at the HI Express in Santa Rosa. We plan to check in for the ride on Friday evening. Dinner plans, anyone?
What distance are you riding? We both registered for the 200K, but Lee is most likely riding the 100K, he's been riding very little lately. I don't think I'll be back up to snuff for the full 200K, but I'll be happy to tag along on at least the scenic part of it.
What time are you planning on starting? What MP said, as early as we can - probably 7:30
What are you wearing? Amici Veloci my ***, of course ! and Lee will probably be wearing green wool.
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride? Duh, what do you think? :D (but of course)
What distance are you riding? Don't know yet. Whatever Thom feels like.
What time are you planning on starting? Don't know, we're driving up Sat. morning.
What are you wearing? AV or Triple Crown. Haven't decided yet.
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride? Heck yeah
Clearly I know a lot. :p
V.
Jo - I think you need to bring your own beer as I recall....
I'll survive without. :)
What distance are you riding?
The shortest route possible - I am so going to die....
What time are you planning on starting
Depends on when jobob makes my wakeup call. :o
What are you wearing?
I think l'll ride nekkid. More than likely my AV jersey
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride?
Really depends on when I finish!
I'm at the Holiday Inn Express Friday and Saturday.
I'm optimistic about the ride, and as long as I don't hammer, I think (emphasize think) I could probably make the 200k. You might have to carry me around on Sunday, though. I'll need to put my tough girl attitude on.
I have no idea what I'll be wearing. Prolly my AV jersey. Sleeves or no sleeves?
I'll be "on vacation" so I'm going to try to make as few decisions as possible. I'm just gonna follow what everyone else does.
I'll be at registration with the sponsoring club Friday night
I'll be at the SoCo Bike Coalition table the next morning, staring at some unholy hour (6AM  I"m not even sure my alarm clock will set for that early)
I'll be free around 12:30, so you may see me out on the roads, not sure what I'll be wearing though.
Yellow's packing list
Both AV jerseys
Super girl iron supplement
Leave watch home
SK's to do list
Don't give yellow too many choices (like parenting a 2 year old)
Bubba's list
Carry Yellow out to the car Sunday morning
BikerZ and I are going to be there.
What distance are you riding? 35 miles. AKA the Bunny Ride. BikerZ's roommate will probably be joining us.
What time are you planning on starting? My goodness, I haven't thought that far ahead. According to the ride's website, we're supposed to get started between 9am and 10am. Of the 3 of us, BikerZ is the only morning person, so I'm guessing that we'll be starting closer to 10am than 9am.
What are you wearing? I have no idea what I'll be wearing -- I rarely know what I'm wearing to work when I get out of the shower on any given morning. If I had to guess, I'd say that BikerZ will be in AV wear. As for me, could be a jersey and tights, knickers, or shorts depending on the weather and how white my legs are.
Are you sticking around for the great BBQ after the ride?
Affirmative on that!
BikerZ and I are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Windsor on Friday and Saturday.
Thanks to Deanna for the tip -- I'd tried Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Santa Rosa, but they were booked. Probably by my fellow cyclists. Hadn't thought of Windsor, though, and I didn't know about the freeway work.
I would suggest seeing if you can get into the Comfort Inn (Cleveland Ave) or Holiday Inn Express (Hopper). Not only will you be closer, but cause of extensive freeway work, getting from the other end of town, even on a weekend, can be a trial. You might also consider the Holiday Inn Express in Windsor, it's north of the start, but traffic will be lighter.
There are a couple pricier ones on the north end of town also.
Thanks, Deanna! I had no idea about the freeway work. The Windsor HI Express is a little closer than the Quality Inn that I'd previously booked. We're planning to ride to and from the start/finish to add a little mileage to the Bunny Ride, but we probably don't want to add too much mileage after the Great BBQ. ;)
Great! It's a lot easier to ride to the start from Windsor, and there are some great restaurants in the Windsor Town Green (a safe walk from the hotel).
No need to. Apparently Rod is coming equipped with plenty on NON-3.2 beer :D , just for after the ride. I'm wondering how my head will react to real beer, at near sea level, after riding all day. Should be interesting.
BTW, it sounds like I will hitch a ride with Rod Friday afternoon, so we'll need to plan a Friday evening dinner that extends long enough to pull in SK and Bubba when they make their fashionably late arrival in Santa Rosa.
Someplace with a bar? No, I have no plans to repeat the-night-before-cinderella dinner.:o
All of you doing the 200K are in for a treat this year. I just rode over Coleman Valley and it is gorgeous right now. Lush & green, lot of wildflower and happy cows. Hopefully the weather will be as nice next weekend!
If there's a gathering Friday night let me know. I'll be done with registration at 9. There's a great brew pub (good beer, good pizza) in Santa Rosa too.
Gaaah, bummer, this head cold set me back some and I really won't be up to a 200K next weekend. :(
Deanna, is there a way to follow the 200K route, but then divert off the route after Coleman Valley in a way to get in less than 100 miles - preferably closer to 60 or 70 ?
Yes, there are two options. One is to stay on 116/River Road after turning off of Hwy 1. This will be flat and will take you directly to the the start/finish. A better route will take you by the Wohler Bridge rest stop. I can show you on a map Friday evening or Saturday AM. I'll also try to scan a map of the route and PM it to you next week.
Deanna, that would be great !
My email is jrp22 (at) pacbell . net
Thanks, - Jo.
Hey, don't leave me out of the plans! Sue F is picking up Bubba on her way over Friday eve. I have no idea about Cyndi as she is in Hawaii right now, but I'm footloose and fancy free all day Friday. As far as I know Cyndi's choices are 1) to go when we go, 2) go with SueF and Bill in the evening or 3) drive herself.
Gawd, after DMD, I'm ready for the bunny ride. Or the dog parade. I'm sure I'll feel better by Saturday, but I am mentally canceling or shortening ride plans right and left...
You ain't the only one.
One good thing at the SLO Wildflower. I got to meet tprevost over a Cosmo served in pint size Ball jelly jar. I did NOT slide under the table.
A Cosmo served in a pint-size jelly jar? Damn, you guys have all the fun!
Just about. I did it for jobob since she couldn't make it.;)
It was the Absolut Citron Cosmo special for the night. Tad sweet with the grenadine or whatever the red coloring was but after the ice started to melt it wasn't so syrupy. Actually, I think it helped settle my stomach.
Thank goodness Bubba sacrificed himself and saved me from the marachino cherry. Ewwww.
BTW, we ate at McClintock's, a very small chain of steakhouses down there. Excellent choice, Trac'.
So where's this brew pub, what's its name, who wants to go, etc. etc. etc.
Deanna says 6 or more folks for reservations. I 'spect we can drum up that many. Probably need to give them a call sooner rather than later.

Mmmmmmm, Beer Bites (done in my best Homer Simpson donut reverie)
I just made reservations for 14 people at 7 pm Friday night so we can get the separate room.
Thanks, Deanna!
Thanks for making the reservations, SadieKate!
This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not sure what time we'll be able to get there -- it all depends on how early I can get out of work.
We'll see ya there, one way or another!
