I like this idea. Here's our terrific family member - Maguire a 5 year old Irish Terrier.
Great idea!
I only have a few of mine online. I'll have to upload some others.
This is Segfault, he's the brat child of a Siamese mom and a Siamese mix dad. Aloof, sometimes noisy, and he'll let you know when he wants something (otherwise leave him the $&*( alone!). He has people preferences (a mommy's boy) but will settle if he wants it bad enough. Huge suck up, too. He's about 8 years old. He thinks he's smarter than we are, but I can read him pretty well... I'm not sure if I'm the sucker or he is ;)
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...l/DSCN1603.jpg
This is Mo. She's the less bratty daughter of the same Siamese mom and probably some other neighborhood dad. She's timid, cute, but still has her moments of cattitude. She squeaks more than meows, except when she wants something (thanks, Siamese mom!). Her post is on the bed, all snuggled up between us or in right against your chest sleeping on your side. That way at 5:30 in the morning when you roll over in denial that morning is about to arrive she can meow, meow, meow until you acknowledge her existence and she purrr purrr purrrs. Mo is about 7 years old.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...053005_001.jpg
Mo's sister (same litter and all) is DC (D@mn Cat). She's friendly and hairy, with a little girly body and a little girly voice to go with it (90% hair, I swear!). She talks a lot in her little girly voice (a "mew"), and when she wants attention she'll kick the keyboard off your lap by sitting down and sticking her feet straight out. She's also a "creeper" -- if you don't want her on your lap (or near your food), she'll sit nearby and slooowly creep in. Before you know it, there she is, purring away. She's also 7.

Azrael was a stray we found when we were in college. He was in the bushes all meowy, and when we brought him inside, he cowered if you put your hand up near his face :( so we decided to keep him. Segfault was an only child until then, he and Azrael eventually got along. He's super super friendly, drools (he's improved a lot in that regard), and is very persistent. He doesn't have the "dog nose" (and ears) of the Siamese (who come at the sound or smell of anything associated with food within 2 miles), but he sure thinks he's a dog otherwise. He has a sensitive stomach (it goes in, it comes back totally undigested), so we have been feeding them all Hairball Control or Sensitive Stomach foods which has REALLY helped a lot (carpet appreciates it!). He's really big, and is a little older than Segfault based on the vet's best guess.

My dad's cat, Gilligan, has been around for YEARS -- she's older than my 13-year old brother. We're guessing about 15. She's a grandma, and we refer to her as "in retirement" -- she used to be more of an outdoor cat, but now if you go to close the door and she's outside, she gets paranoid and runs inside. She likes warm blankets, catnip toys, and to attack your feet as you walk by. She's looking for that one perfect shoe she can live the rest of her life with. Current enemies are Toilet Paper and Paper Towels... shredded on sight!
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...042405_031.jpg
My dad's dog, Boots, was raised with cats and thinks she is one. Would love to sit on your lap all day, curls herself up into a little ball, and tries to play with the cats, too ;) So far, Azrael is the only one that has come close, sometimes he'll nuzzle up against her and sleep near her, but is still a little intimidated. She's a Boxer-Rottweiler mix, and seems to have got the best of both worlds. You can't quite see, but her feet are white (hence the name!). She's about 3 years old.

That's the fam! (My dad and brother live with my husband and I, so we include everyone ;))
Me 'n Mae, my 6 year old shelter adopted mutt, I couldn't get the picture to load so here:

Here's my monster.
Attachment 1539
She's part siamese, so she likes to follow me around the house while expressing all her concerns and dislikes. Her nickname is Complaint Department. She is on her dais in this photo, we all worship her from there.
Colby- My Nanny and Pawpaw had a cat named DC (D@mn Cat) for close to 20 years. He *adopted* them (umm my Pawpaw fed it) and got his name because my Pawpaw would say "Go away D@mn Cat" when my Nanny was around. My Pawpaw loved animals, but didn't want her to know he was adopting the kitten himself!
Boots is a doll. I love Boxers and Rotts, what a precious baby!
Here's a picture of our current two dogs. The black one is a long haired GSD and the little one is 1/2 boxer and lord knows what the rest is.

Hope this works. This is one of my "guys," a codependent golden retriever. The other photo would not load for some reason. By the way, I'm loving seeing your pets; they have caused me to smile quite a bit this morning.

Our DC got her name similarly. My mom's (unaltered) Siamese was the mother, and DC was a horrible little kitten. Every time she got near my mom, she'd do something totally obnoxious like climb up her legs ;) Needless to say it wasn't long before she was adorned with her name.
Boots is a big baby. She curls up in what must be doggy fetal position all the time. She loves to run, tongue flapping in the wind ;)
This is Jack, my four and a half year old Australian Shepherd. He is my running/hiking/snow-shoeing buddy who loves nothing better than riding in the back of my pick-up, or chasing his Frizbee, or his ball, or his squeaky toy. Nope, he's not spoiled either!
Hey Tater, my golden is named Jack too! Both of our dogs have "people" names -- Sam and Jack.
KB
Gizmo (Gizmo Bear Webster) is our soon to be 10 year old Pomeranian.
Kasey (Princess Kassopeia du Bear Webster) is my Coffee Cup Pom-:p
Other folks have teacup poodles- what's wrong with a Coffee cup pup?
Kasey will be 3 months old on thursday. She loves her big brother and he's her favorite toy. Gizzie does what every big brother is supposed to do with his annoying baby sister- he ignores her as long as he can until he has just snaps.
Kasey is a Lance Armstrong fan- at just 1 pound, possibly his smallest:D
As I was driving home from Alabama with her, I ran out of fingers for her to
gnaw on so I gave her a LiveStong bracelet- it's now hers.
Hi Everyone!
COLBY -- I found the catnip "blankets" pictured with our kids at Hannaford Super Market about a year ago. You can try this website
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/Shop.cfm?N=2002
and see if they have something like it. (I get their catalog - they have some wonderful sales on stuff to spoil your kids :D ).
I also saw them at Petco awhile back, too. There was also a company called "fatcat" which has some cat/dog chew toys & a "scratchy" catnip pad.... But, I couldn't find the site when I searched for it  ....
Hope that helps.
I LOVE ALL OF THE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS THAT ARE PICTURED ON THIS THREAD -- KEEP THEM COMING !!!
Peace & Love,
Denise
oh my gosh... you're all making it SO DIFFICULT for me  I know when my old Pug Winston dies, that I will get another dog. For me, it's a given to share my home again... and Magnus will need company when I'm at work.
That being said, I have been interested in possibly getting a bigger dog that I can walk with...
I have been looking at several breeds on Petfinder... I don't need a purebred so a mix is fine too. I love the look of masked dogs, so the Boxers appeal to me... but I see all those muscles and get a little nervous about whether I can handle the training etc... same with Rotts... man, what gorgeous dogs... but SO strong...
and I LOVE that Irish Terrier!!! Have also considered Bearded Collies... ah heck, who am I kidding... I'm considering most all of them... I know I'll rescue... just a matter of who and what breed or mix of breeds... sigh...
anyway, right now, thanks to you all, I want one of everything please. :D
bikerchick - I know it sounds weird because you don't often think of them as tough, hiking dogs, but Standard Poodles are AWESOME on trails and with excercise! Of course, I wouldn't recommend grooming them like show dogs and then taking them out for a mountain bike ride, but they are pretty cool, the size you're looking for...and VERY SMART!
Hi Everyone!
I'm not sure whether I saw this site listed somewhere here at TE or at a pet-grief site that I moderate............ but, take a peek and have a laugh :D
www.stuffonmycat.com
Enjoy!
Peace & Love to All,
Denise
OMG Denise223 I am literally in tears laughing at those pictures on stuffonmycat, especially the one in the pot!!! :D :D :D
By the way, your cat has the coolest markings on her face, so pretty!
OMG, Denise!!! Those pictures are hilarious!! I had to stop looking or I was going to get in trouble at work for laughing so hard. What a core workout you gave me! :D
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks, Denise! My cats LOVE the catnip stuffed toys from Kitty Hoots:

and Fat Cat (which may just be Kitty Hoots? They look the same):
http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...294966203&Ne=6
I can just IMAGINE what the blanket would do!!
I'll look for it next time I'm at Petco. I think we're about halfway through our current bag of food.
Replying to myself, I found Fat Cat's site: http://www.fatcatinc.com/html_site/cats.shtml
Can't wait to watch my cat beat up George W Bush! ;)

AWESOME!!! You found the site.... Ms. Lucy & Mr. Yoster said "Thank You!!" Those toys are the best!!! They 'crackle' & make little noises, which our kids LOVE!!!
:p ..... I can see I'll be placing an order soon......

That looks like it would be something warm for the winter..... :D (sprinkle on some of their extra strong catnip & WATCH OUT  !)
HappyAnika & GLC1968 That "stuffonmycat" site is a RIOT!! I'm glad you're both enjoying it:) ......
It's nice to be able to share things that we find on the web and/or share stuff that we hear of through someone else....
~~ that's what makes the world go round ~~
HappyAnika Thanks for the compliment of Lucy's markings.... She thinks she's beautiful, too ;) ! I love her -- she's a real special girl (insert heart emoticon :) )
Have a peaceful & beautiful weekend everyone,
Denise
These are GREAT!
Tater, I love your Australian Shepard. Beautiful! Love those eyes! :)
Everyone has such wonderful pets!
Keep 'em coming! I know you all have your computers loaded with pix!
Isn't that why they invented digital cameras??? :p
This is our kitty Kersey (spelled differently but named after Jaan Kirsipuu). I call him Kersy-poo all the time! I'm also posting my two society finches. They have 5 babies now!
Speaking of funny animal sites, make sure you guys check out Cats in Sinks and Cute Overload.
Here's my Sweet Ebby. A match made in heaven at the MSPCA XOXOXO
And the queen, Diana, who rules the roost!
First photo is Emily, our 14 yo tabby from RSPCA... also known as "the dreaded moose" :D and called "the dreaded moose" more often than not! The Dreaded Moose has serious attitude!
Second photo is Max, our 7yo ginger tabby... also known as Maxi-de-moo-moo :D He is unbelievably soft! Max is afraid of everything during the day, but afraid of absolutely nothing at night  .
Last photo is my 3yo heeler x husky (and Avatar) - Holly aka The Meister (dont know why). Holly LOVES everyone and everything she meets... instantly and forever. She has 2 speeds... flat out and stop. The photo below is obviously at "stop" :D
Makes me realise we almost never call our pets by their names just the silly names we manage to come up with.:p
Basso is about 8 years old and Bianchi is a little over a year old and she is a mix of Jack Russell and Poodle. They are great company.
...and Basso is a DACHSHUND! YAY! She looks like my pup growing up, Schatzi. My avatar is not a picture of Schatzi, but the closest I could find (actually, snapdragen found her for me!) of Schatzi's color, size, and spirit.
When I get over my lazy self, I will scan and upload pix of my kitties. :p This thread is a delight.
Here are 2 of my 4:
Roadie (cat) checking out lunch, er my senegal parrot Bummi

Here they are, my babies. Ariel has silky sepia-grey long hair with fuzzy light grey hair underneath. She's a fluff ball. She's also a scientist, with a concentration in gravity. She causes things to submit to gravity, and observes them very closely. She jumps down and sniffs them carefully to gather more data. Then she walks away, no doubt to write up her report. This first picture was taken when she was pretty young. They're both about 17 now. Isaac is my snuggle-bug little guy. I got him when Ariel decided to take a stroll outside without mentioning it to me, and was gone for 7 awful days. When she was found, she'd lost 20% of her body weight. She *runs* from open doors now. She despised Isaac for about 6 months, tolerated him for about 2 years, and they adore each other now. They are my littlest hearts.
My baby, we adopted her when she was 6 weeks old. That was 6 years ago. She actually she thinks she is the mom to the 5 of us, it is hysterical.

Here's my two, Casey (Bullmastiff) & Brittany (Cocker Spaniel). Here's the two of them in their chair. Casey is 4 1/2 months old in the first pic and just turned 1 yr in the second. The last is Casey when he was just about 2 years old. Of course, at 140` lbs now, Casey has outgrown the chair and poor Brittany is just too old to get in it.
Kerry
This was a challenge. Rats do *not* sit still well. He made it for the camera, so I quick got the shot. Believe it or not, this was the best one of about 12.

Gebo Rat, giver of kisses and cuddles, and eater of bugs and spiders.
I love this thread! So many beautiful animals, and some that are just plain loveable.
Here's my furry group:
Leia is our blue-eyed girl (it's hard to get her to look at the camera). She's a Siberian Husky we adopted from a shelter in Missouri eight years ago. She's sometimes my training partner - when I can keep up. ;)
Attachment 1565
Dharma is eight years old. She's our little Miss Priss - seldom lets the guys touch her but she's in my lap all the time.
Attachment 1566
Finally our little goofball, Snowshoe, is four years old. He sleeps in the bathroom sink a lot. We'll walk in when it's dark, flip on the light, and he'll look at us - "What are YOU doing in here?"
Attachment 1567
Ah, the hair, the wet kisses . . .
